Chapter 260: Jiang Yixian’s Shock

Early the next morning, Jiang Yixian arrived at the Su Corporation building. Standing before the imposing entrance, he hesitated, his mind wrestling with itself.

On one hand, he was desperate to break through the bottleneck he had been stuck at for a decade. On the other, he feared Su Lin might demand something excessive, like serving as a guest elder for decades. If it came to that, should he agree or refuse?

Eventually, he stepped forward and entered the Su building. His pride was no longer as fierce as it once had been. After checking in at the front desk, he smoothly made his way to Su Lin’s office.

Upon seeing Su Lin, Jiang Yixian was momentarily taken aback. Su Lin, lounging lazily in his chair, exuded a dangerously potent aura. Jiang Yixian knew if he were to attack Su Lin, he would be killed instantly.

This realization filled him with a sense of absurdity. Could there really be a Grandmaster this powerful? Could he be a Human Immortal? The thought made Jiang Yixian jump internally.

When he looked at Su Lin again to confirm his suspicion, Su Lin spoke. “You are Ruoxi’s uncle?”

Jiang Yixian nodded and sat down as Su Lin gestured towards a chair. The sense of absurdity grew stronger. Even though Su Lin was supposed to be of the same realm, or slightly stronger, there was no feeling of equality between them.

“Ruoxi mentioned your request yesterday. I can help you achieve a breakthrough,” Su Lin stated plainly.

Jiang Yixian, controlling his excitement, replied, “There must be a condition, right?”

Su Lin nodded, “Yes, but it’s not for free. There are conditions.”

“Of course, you can state your conditions.”

Su Lin held up three fingers, “Three years. I can help you with your breakthrough, but you must serve me for three years.”

Jiang Yixian’s eyes widened. He had braced himself for a much larger demand and was taken aback by the modesty of the request. “Three years, are you sure?”

“If you wish to serve for thirty years, I wouldn’t object,” Su Lin quipped.

“Uh… three years it is then. Agreed,” Jiang Yixian quickly said, fearing Su Lin might change his mind.

Su Lin chuckled, “Then it’s settled.”

Su Lin didn’t demand a high price because he saw limited use for a Human Immortal like Jiang Yixian after three years. By then, Su Lin might be operating at an even higher level. In three years, Su Lin anticipated he would gather all the Taiyi Divine Needles; then actually start cultivating. Martial art will no longer be his focus by then.

He handed a notebook that He Suxi had returned to him to Jiang Yixian, “Your cultivation is sufficient, but your mental state isn’t. You won’t break through immediately just by having this. Take this notebook, study it, and once you fully understand it, come see me. Then, your breakthrough should be no trouble.”

Jiang Yixian skeptically began reading the notebook, but soon found himself deeply engrossed in the insights of Wang Yannian, a Human Immortal for decades. These were incredibly valuable experiences that seemed cryptic to the uninitiated but resonated deeply with Jiang Yixian.

After Su Lin left the office, Lin Xiaowan asked him, “How did it go with Ruoxi’s uncle? You came out first.”

“Of course, we reached an agreement,” Su Lin replied.

“You’re really going to help him break through? Could it harm you?” Lin Xiaowan asked, worried. She knew how challenging such breakthroughs could be.

Su Lin pulled Lin Xiaowan close with a smile and reassured her, “Don’t worry, there’s no harm to me. People like Jiang Yixian and Aunt Su, they’ve already reached the necessary level of cultivation; they just lack the right mindset and haven’t found the correct methods yet.”

Lin Xiaowan nodded with an understanding look, “As long as you’re okay.”

“Mhm~!”

After about twenty minutes of affectionate conversation with Lin Xiaowan, the room finally stirred. Jiang Yixian opened the door and stepped out. He looked at Su Lin with an apologetic expression, “Sorry, I was so absorbed by the essentials in the notebook that I instinctively started to verify them.”

Su Lin waved it off, “Once you’ve finished looking it over, come find me here in Su Corporation.”

Jiang Yixian nodded, “Alright.”

He didn’t leave immediately but instead looked slightly puzzled, “Su Lin, you just gave me this notebook. Aren’t you worried that I won’t acknowledge our agreement once I break through?”

Su Lin chuckled, “No… you won’t.”

“Uh… do you trust me that much?” Jiang Yixian was a bit surprised.

He was somewhat moved inside, thinking that even after the three-year period, he would be willing to help Su Lin and his people as a way to repay their kindness, rather than letting such a great favor go unreciprocated.

Just as Jiang Yixian was feeling touched, Su Lin suddenly exuded the aura of a Human Immortal with such confidence, “I never worry about whether you’ll keep your word; I only trust myself. If you fail to fulfill our agreement, I’ll come looking for you.”

Jiang Yixian was taken aback, then felt an overwhelming force hit him, making him feel as if he was about to kneel. Witnessing Su Lin’s formidable presence, he couldn’t help but recognize that Su Lin was indeed a Human Immortal.

At eighteen years old!

The thought echoed repeatedly in Jiang Yixian’s mind, followed by a deep bitterness. Here he was at forty, still just a Grandmaster, while Su Lin was already a whole realm higher.

“How demoralizing,” he thought.

“I… you… are you a Human Immortal?”

Su Lin, pulling back his aura, smiled lightly, “Uncle Jiang, if I weren’t, why would you come to me?”

“Uh…” Jiang Yixian, upon hearing Su Lin’s affirmative response, was at a loss for words.
