Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System-Chapter 296: Efficiency.
Hugo leaned against the bar like a weak old man, arms crossed, eyes slightly narrowed as he exhaled loudly.
Despite how sad he was, his every movement still looked picturesque and amazing due to the effects of his maxed out modelling mastery.
But he wasn't even in the mood to flaunt this currently.
He needed a moment. A moment to recover from the humiliation that had just been handed to him like an express delivery from the universe itself.
He had come here after the terrible attempt at rizzing up the caramel-skinned barista had backfired with an ice cold glacier sent to his face!
He had been ghosted so hard that he almost felt like he was nothing more than an invisible pedestrian in an NPC's background animation.
Then when he thought he finally had strike if luck, things went even more worse for him. It was like today was a cursed day!
Unreal. Absolutely unreal.
He shook his head, muttering under his breath. "I just need to be alone for a bit. Just… let me breathe. Let me exist in peace."
This was a moment he needed to get over. He would only grow stronger after this!
Or smell worse...
And of course, because life had a personal vendetta against him, the second he thought that, he felt a presence.
Followed by a tap on his shoulder.
Slowly, with the caution of a man who had just been through enough emotional damage for the night, Hugo turned his head.
And then he saw her.
She was leaning casually against a nearby stool, one foot propped against it, arms lazily crossed over her chest.
Firstly, she looked absolutely stunning. In fact, she was dangerously beautiful.
She wore a cropped leather jacket over a tight-fitting black top, ripped jeans that clung in all the right places, and combat boots that made her look like she was either here to steal his wallet or his heart.
Heck, she could steal both and he would still be happy!
Her hair was long, dark with streaks of silver, slightly messy but in a way that screamed "I woke up looking this cool, and you will deal with it."
A cigarette dangled loosely between her fingers, unlit, like she didn't even care enough to actually smoke it—just liked the aesthetic of holding one.
And her face?
Gorgeous.
Sharp cheekbones, full lips curled in an amused smirk, and eyes that had "I've seen some things" written all over them.
But the worst part? The most dangerous part?
She was staring at him and it was not in a subtle way.
Not in a "coincidental, oh, I just happened to glance your way" kind of way.
No. She was staring at him like he was a particularly interesting science experiment that she wasn't sure would explode or not.
Hugo blinked. She didn't. Hugo shifted. She didn't.
Finally, she tilted her head, looking him up and down like she was evaluating his entire existence.
"You look like a man who just got humbled," she finally said, voice smooth and low, the kind of voice that made it sound like she was permanently half-amused, half-bored.
Hugo narrowed his eyes. "And you look like a woman who enjoys watching men suffer."
She grinned. "Oh, absolutely."
Okay. Okay, he was feeling this.
Just a little tho!
Hugo straightened up, deciding that whatever God was playing with his life tonight, he was just going to roll with it.
He crossed his arms, smirking. "You spying on me or something? You a fan?"
She snorted, shaking her head. "Please. I just happened to witness your downfall in real-time. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion. Painful, yet oddly fascinating."
Hugo exhaled dramatically. "Right, right. Just keep piling on the insults. My ego hasn't suffered enough."
She tapped the unlit cigarette against her palm, still smirking.
"Oh, I'm not insulting you. I'm impressed. Most guys would've run home to cry after that kind of humiliation, but you? You're still standing. Kinda hot, actually."

Hugo raised an eyebrow. "Kinda?"
She shrugged. "I don't give out full points that easily."
Damn. This girl was dangerous!
And Hugo? Hugo was intrigued. He had a big thing for dangerous girls!
He stepped closer, just a little, enough to catch the faint scent of something warm and spicy, like cinnamon mixed with danger.
"So what, you just lurk outside clubs at night, waiting for men to fail so you can roast them?"
She pretended to think. "More like… I was on my way home, but then I saw you crash and burn and thought, 'Wow. That's some premium entertainment right there.'"
Hugo let out a laugh. A real one. "Brutal. Absolutely brutal."
She winked. "I try."
For a second, they just stood there, staring at each other, the noise buzzing faintly in the background.
It was weird, but… comfortable. Hugo was used to girls being shy, flustered, trying too hard. This girl?
She wasn't trying at all. She was just existing. And somehow, that was way more dangerous than any giggling, blushing, seducing girl he'd ever met.
Finally, she tilted her head. "So, what's your plan now, fallen warrior? You gonna go home and lick your wounds? Or are you looking for a rematch with Miss Cold-Shoulder?"
Hugo scoffed. "Nah. She's dead to me. I'm already moving on."
He had to act like he didn't care if he wanted the girls to run to him. Sanchez had drilled that into his brain!
She lifted an eyebrow. "That fast?"
Hugo smirked. "I'm a man who believes in efficiency."
She chuckled. "Efficiency, huh?" Her gaze flickered down—to his lips.
Hugo caught it. He definitely caught it. For a second, everything paused.
The teasing air between them shifted, just slightly, into something else. Something charged.
Her smirk lingered, but there was something different in her eyes now. Something sharper. More interested.
Hugo suddenly became very aware of how close they were standing.
He glanced at her lips. Then back up to her eyes. Then back down.
Damn.
He swallowed. This girl… was dangerous.
And yet, for some reason, he wasn't backing away.
