Chapter 376: Chapter 271: An Easy Battle_2

As the breath neared, Ji Xinghuo vanished with a Flash Step.

Following that were three consecutive Flash Steps.

Ji Xinghuo’s figure appeared like a flash, moving dozens of meters to the side in the blink of an eye, dodging the deadly poison breath as dozens of creatures were caught in its spray, corroding and dying as if they had fallen into sulfuric acid.

From atop the Flying Dragon, a tall figure leaped into the air.

Bang!

The ground shook as the five-meter-tall Fungal Giant landed, its feet sinking into the earth, roaring in anger. A radius of hundreds of meters around it sprouted countless cyan-green mycelium, thick like a blanket. The surrounding plants came to life, twisting into countless branches and vines like snakes, swarming towards Ji Xinghuo.

Ji Xinghuo reacted extremely fast, his tightly grasped war axe bursting with frost.

Ice Roar!

Cold air spewed out in all directions, freezing and shattering the approaching vines and branches. Ji Xinghuo didn’t retreat but advanced, charging at the enemy with his war axe swinging.

The Fungal Giant’s hands rapidly deformed, its left turning into a massive wooden shield and its right into a thick green whip, lashing towards the charging Ji Xinghuo with such terrifying force that it seemed to rip the air apart, like a dozen-meter-long giant blade slashing horizontally.

In the sky, another Poison Stinger Flying Dragon swooped down, spewing out its deadly poison breath.

Ji Xinghuo, in the midst of his wild charge, was engulfed by the breath.

But in the next second, he burst out from the poisonous cloud, and apart from his corroded clothes, he was unscathed, moving even faster.

Instant Step!

Ji Xinghuo vanished then reappeared, perfectly avoiding the whip strike with a flash in his eyes.

With a thunderous boom.

A thick bolt of lightning fell from the sky, striking the Fungal Giant.

Taking advantage of the enemy’s paralysis, Ji Xinghuo closed in with three Flash Steps as the Fungal Giant had already regained mobility. Its right whipping hand broke off, transforming into a huge wooden blade, slashing downwards. But in Ji Xinghuo’s eyes, its motion was like slow motion. He slid half a step to the side, causing the blade to miss and strike the ground.

Ji Xinghuo jumped several meters high, his muscles bulging as he raised the Ice Veiner’s Axe high over his head, unleashing all his strength.

The Fungal Giant raised its left hand with the wooden shield.

Bang!

Wood splintered in every direction, the shield shattering as the double-edged battle axe cleaved through it and into the Fungal Giant’s head, splitting it vertically in two like cutting through bamboo, freezing its body into a block of ice.

After landing, Ji Xinghuo pointed a finger, and a Thunderbolt Hand hit the frozen body, shattering it into countless pieces, completely killing it.

He immediately used Flash Step to dodge away.

Almost at the moment of his disappearance, the massive claws of another Poison Stinger Flying Dragon swept past, and had he been half a second later, he would have been hit by the claws.

Ji Xinghuo reappeared behind the Flying Dragon, throwing his war axe with all his might.

The Ice Veiner’s Axe, also made of metal, was enhanced by his strength, carrying an electrical charge and acceleration. The axe blade cut into the base of one wing of the Flying Dragon from behind, severing the wing before flying back into Ji Xinghuo’s hand.

The Poison Stinger Flying Dragon, having lost one wing, wailed as it crashed to the ground, tumbling and carving a hundred-meter-long trench due to its momentum.

Feeling Ji Xinghuo’s approach, it shot out the poisonous stingers from its back.

The stingers, one to two meters in length and highly toxic, were the Poison Stinger Flying Dragon’s close-quarters defensive measure, similar to a porcupine’s quills. Normally, just a few could kill their target, but now it shot them out without reserve.

Ji Xinghuo easily evaded.

Most of the stingers missed, and the occasional one that did hit him was deflected by the Holy Scale Armor, posing no threat.

He held his war axe and jumped onto the back of the Flying Dragon, reaching its head in two Flash Steps, graceful and swift. No matter how the Flying Dragon rolled and struggled, it couldn’t shake him off, and its breath also missed. He raised his war axe and chopped down, decapitating the Flying Dragon.

[Spiritual Origin Ability +1]

Ji Xinghuo saw the message and was speechless.

This Catastrophe-Level creature, though it was bottom-tier Flood Level, only granted him 1 point of Spiritual Origin Ability such was indeed too stingy.

But he had no time to complain now, as there was still another Poison Stinger Flying Dragon and a Fungal Giant to deal with, both Catastrophe-Level.

They showed no sign of shrinking away.

The Flying Dragon turned in the sky, swooping down once again, ready to spray its deadly poison breath.

By now, Ji Xinghuo had completely relaxed, standing still as he easily cut down a dozen monsters that tried to surround him, letting the toxic breath engulf him. At the moment it sprayed its breath, the Flying Dragon was flying lowest, and Ji Xinghuo raised his hand and released a Thunderbolt Hand.

Lightning cleaved through the venomous breath, thick as a pillar, and struck the Flying Dragon’s belly, piercing through its green protective aura and wooden exterior, blasting a large hole.

The Fire Sword re-ignited, and a beam of laser several meters long followed the lightning, stabbing into the hole in the belly.

Several muffled noises came from within the Flying Dragon’s abdomen.

They were five consecutive Flame Bursts.

The high-temperature explosion combined with the Fire Sword’s laser turned the Flying Dragon’s insides into a mass of blood plasma; the Poison Stinger Flying Dragon screamed terribly as it crashed to the ground.

The Fire Sword pierced through its back and continued its assault on the Fungal Giant, creating gashes on its body from which green blood flowed.

These wounds were almost negligible for the Fungal Giant.

But it could not ignore Ji Xinghuo himself.

The Fungal Giant leaped off the nearly dead Flying Dragon’s back, and before it could even land, it was struck by a mighty lightning bolt that paralyzed its whole body. An axe flew from afar, nearly splitting it in half at the waist. The surrounding Fire Swords took advantage of the opening, stabbing into its chest and detonating a Flame Burst.

Boom!

By the time it hit the ground, the Fungal Giant had become a burning, mangled corpse.

High-temperature flames counter plants, and although the Fungal Giant possessed strong self-healing abilities and could manipulate plants, they were utterly useless at that moment.

Ji Xinghuo Flash Stepped over and split the giant’s head with an axe.

[Spiritual Origin Ability +1]

"Easy," Ji Xinghuo calmly shook his head.

Neither the Poison Stinger Flying Dragon nor the Fungal Giant, despite their high Rank, had sufficient intelligence. They fought purely on instinct and ultimately were just monsters. Moreover, the abilities they had awakened were few. Compared to true Legendary beings, they were far inferior.

Of course, if it were other Super Mutants facing ten Poison Stinger Flying Dragons and ten Fungal Giants, merely surviving would be quite an achievement.

"Still, I’m just too strong," Ji Xinghuo thought, feeling quite pleased with himself.

The surrounding monsters converged on him once more.

With less than 1000 points of Star Power remaining, to be on the safe side, Ji Xinghuo chose the most Star Power-efficient method of combat, using only the Ice Veiner’s Axe to slay the monsters one by one.

He was surrounded by monsters, seemingly in great danger, yet he was entirely at ease.

The War Axe whirled, his steps were nimble.

With every step, Ji Xinghuo perfectly avoided the attacks.

With every strike, he used his strength just right, not wasting a bit of physical fitness.

The monsters that charged at him fell one after another, whether they were in front or behind, no matter the direction, any that neared Ji Xinghuo were split in half by his axe or beheaded, none managing to reach his body.

Ji Xinghuo immersed himself in the melee carnage until suddenly there was emptiness before him—the monsters had all been cut down, and corpses lay everywhere at his feet.

There were still over a thousand monsters detected by Electromagnetic Induction, but they were spreading out and moving away.

"I haven’t had enough yet," Ji Xinghuo felt he hadn’t exerted much effort, looking at the War Axe in his hand smeared with green liquid, he felt somewhat unsatisfied.

With his physical fitness and recovery power, he could continue to hack for seven days and nights without issue.

Above in the sky, several crimson beams erupted.

The Laser Cannon fired again, with two or three beams striking the ground a kilometer away, blasting the fleeing monsters. This time, the orbital Laser Cannon’s bombardment was very brief, lasting just a few seconds.

Ji Xinghuo looked at the monster corpses scattered everywhere.

Before, no matter how many monsters he attracted, under the Laser Cannon, it was hard to leave any corpses behind as they were obliterated into ash, naturally, he couldn’t collect any Alien Species.

But today was different.

Ji Xinghuo immediately walked up to a massive corpse of a Poison Stinger Flying Dragon, placed his hand on it, and the information about its Alien Species popped up in his field of vision.

"Not really impressive," he shook his head; the Alien Species of the Poison Stinger Flying Dragon weren’t many, and their quality was also quite mediocre.

Then he moved towards the Fungal Giant to check its Alien Species.

When Ji Xinghuo finished reviewing the information on the interface, his eyes suddenly lit up—the Alien Species of the Fungal Giant were much better than those of the Poison Stinger Flying Dragon!
