Supreme Harem God System-Chapter 2272: I assure you, Lightโs hands are far redder than mine.
"Why?"
Archon asked, his stubborn pride finally snapping and turning into something worse. ๐ณ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ฅ.๐๐ ๐
Desperation.
"Why my world!? Why here!? Why now!? What did we do!?
We never once challenged you!
We never once said anything bad about you!!
Then why!?"
He asked, his helplessness turning into anger.
And Nux, who was walking towards him with that same calm, amusing smile on his face, suddenly stopped.
Then, he looked at Archon. For the first time since the beginning, it felt like he was looking at another living being and not a toy made solely for his amusement.
Nux then tilted his head, as if wondering whether all these questions deserved an answer. In the end, Nux just shrugged.
He had all the time in the world, so why not have a little conversation? After all, constantly reading memories to learn what the other person was thinking was... quite boring.
"Did you not hear what I said in my speech that day?"
He asked, then looked somewhat offended as he thought of another possibility.
"Did you even listen to my previous speech?
Do you have any idea how long I prepared that speech for?
Five minutes!
I spent five whole minutes!"
Nux raised his voice like a rebel trying to show his struggle to the rest of the world and Archon...
"..."
He stared at the man in front of him with an absurd look on his face, almost as if he couldnโt believe what he was hearing was real.
Nux crossed his arms and looked away, still seemingly offended.
And for a moment, there was silence.
Nux did not speak because he did not want to, and Archon had no idea what he was supposed to do or say.
The thought of attacking this man didnโt even come to his mind because the difference between them was apparent in his mind now.
That arrogant thought where he believed he would defeat the Anomaly and gain recognition throughout the entire Universe had disappeared long, long while ago.
"I hate Lightโs hypocrisy."
That was when Nux spoke.
"I hate how two-faced Light is."
"Then go to Light!"
Archonโs face twisted in anger and he snapped. He then pointed upward as if Lady Seraphielle could hear him through the void andโ
"Face Lady Seraphielle if you have so much confidence!
Fight her!
Why are you targeting me!?
What would that do!?"
At those words, Nuxโs expression changed. He now seemed more... determined.
"That day will come soon as well."
He answered confidently.
After all, he knew it was the truth.
He and the Infinities would go against each other; there was no other way out. He would do it for his unborn children and to ensure they grew in a stable environment.
Archonโs stomach sank at those words.
All his life, he had always saved himself from actual danger with the name of Light.
A being he couldnโt defeat?
That being wouldnโt attack him, fearing Light.
After all, an all-out war between High Level Worlds was a big matter; no one wanted to be the one to start it.
Archon could basically act as arrogantly as he wanted and there would be absolutely no consequences.
But today was different.
This was the first time someone did not back down or show even the slightest bit of hesitation when he mentioned Light or Lady Seraphielle.
This was... the first time someone said he would actually face Lady Seraphielle.
And the worst part?
He didnโt sound like a man making empty threats.
He... sounded like he was actually looking forward to the final battle.
A ridiculously arrogant and completely crazy bastard!
But even thenโ
He did not back down.
"What do you mean that day will come soon!?
You say you hate Light and its hypocrisy, but what do you do!?
You attack us instead!
What would that do!?
If you know you arenโt strong enough yet, then go train and then attack Light!
Whatโs the point of ruining the lives of trillions of people!?
Do you even know how many beings you have killed till now!?
How many families you have destroyed!? How many children have cried because of you!?
You say you hate Light! But donโt your actions make you even worse than Light!?
Why are you targeting us innocents!?"
He asked, raising his voice even further, feeling that this might work, but...
"Innocent?
You...?"
Nux raised his eyebrow.
"I serve the Light! I am not part of anything they did! I have been fulfilling my duties and keeping peace in my world my entire life!"
"And what are these โdutiesโ you speak of?"
Nux asked, genuinely curious.
"We keep order! I keep peace! I keep my world from plunging into darkness!"
Archon answered as if he had practiced it millions of times.
Nux nodded, as calm as ever, thenโ
"And how many did you crush to keep that peace?"
He asked directly and for a moment, Archon froze.
Nuxโs voice did not change; it stayed soft, almost... casual.
"How many did you โpurifyโ because they were inconvenient?"
Archonโs wings fluttered as if he was having a difficult time keeping himself in the air, but Nux did not stop.
"How many did you starve because they didnโt meet a quota?"
Archon clenched his fists.
"You donโt understandโ"
"Oh, I do,"
Nux interrupted. His voice was still calm but it had a strange power in it, a way that the moment he started speaking, Archon could not speak over him.
"Your world promotes Lightโs values.
Your world teaches obedience as holiness.
You tell people youโre saving them, but in truthโ
You are rotten underneath."
"Lies!"
Archon denied it with all his might.
And Nux, he just smiled.
"Alright then, since you and I disagree,
Letโs solve the matter how Light has been recently solving everything.
What do you say?
As a follower of Light and its values, I am sure you wouldnโt mind, correct?"
Archon narrowed his eyes at those words and Nuxโs smile widened.
"Iโll read your memories.
If it turns out you are, in fact, telling the truthโ
That you have only been helping people, keeping peace, prosperity, unity, and all that bullshitโ
I will let you go and willingly become your prisoner.
I will let you take me to Light, to your Lady Seraphielle, and help you bask in endless glory."
Nux spoke with a smile, saying those grand words like they meant something. Archon, however, did not seem happy, because he knew what was coming.
Nuxโs smile widened too, his eyes shining with... cruelty.
"And if it turns out you were lying, if you truly harmed innocent people, then for every life you hurt, I will make you suffer for a century.
How about it?
I think that is a fair deal, is it not?"
Nux asked with a knowing smile and just as he expectedโ
"Why should I let you read my mind!?
Who are you to read my mind!?
What authority do you have!?"
Archon snapped, stepping back as fear became clearer in his eyes, and Nuxโs smile widened.
"You let Light read your mind and you had no problem with it.
You even let Light read your peopleโs minds."
"Are you comparing yourself with Light!?"
"Whatโs the difference?"
Nux asked with a curious look.
And Archon...
"Light stands for people! Light keeps peace! While you devour worlds! You have the blood of trillions on your hands! You are nowhere near Light!"
He blurted out.
"I assure you, Lightโs hands are far redder than mine."
Nux answered calmly.
"And why should I believe you!?"
Archon replied, then, as if he thought of something, he glanced at Nux andโ
"You!
You let me read your memories instead!
That is only fair, donโt you think!?"
Nux laughed at those words.
"Read... my memory?"
He asked as if he couldnโt believe it.
Nux had multiple worlds of knowledge in his head, some of those worlds were High Level Worlds whose histories went back to the beginning of time itself.
There were only a few beings in the entire Universe who could read his mind, register all the information stored in it and... stay sane.
And Archonโ
He was not one of them.
"You didnโt ask to read Lightโs mind.
Wouldnโt that have fixed all the problems?
You and your people wouldnโt have to live in that tyranny either."
Nux reasoned with an amused smile, but again, Archon wasnโt willing to listen.
"Again! Do not compare yourself with Light! You arโ"
He screamed, but this time, before he could finish, Nux waved his hand and suddenly, Archonโs entire body froze as an absurd amount of pressure descended on him.
His face paled in horror, he stared at Nux, his eyes widening in fright, and Nux, he kept the same smile.
"I will compare myself to Light.
Because in both cases, the situation is the same.
I hold absolute power over you, just like Light does. This is why I get to do anything I wantโ
โjust like... Light does."
Nux spoke, then, with a wave of his hand, a monument materialized in the void.
A monument Archon recognized in an instant.
It was the same monument the Light Forces were using to read peopleโs minds.
"You recognize it, donโt you?"
Nux chuckled, then waved his hand and tossed Archonโs body into it.
"Letโs use it."
