Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity's Rise To Galactic Supremacy-Chapter 318: Monstrous Storm
Relocating to the training ground designed like an arena on the first floor, everybody watched as Michael sat in the very middle.
"The exercise is very simple... but don’t mix simple and easy. All you have to do is touch me."
Cayson scoffed.
"I like your enthusiasm. But keep in mind we are a lot, with several Lords among us. Do you really think you can escape us for long?" The man asked, completely misunderstanding the exercise.
In response, Michael chuckled warmly.
"Oh no, I wouldn’t be moving a muscle the entire time."
Before anybody could retort, Michael’s eyes gleamed as he unleashed the full extent of his killing intent.
"GODS!"
Abruptly those that had stayed too close to him felt lightheaded, their knees buckling.
Cursing everything he knew, Cayson crawled backwards before he was able to take a breather.
"It’s not as intense as Supreme Lord Nicole’s pressure, but it might be on par with an Absolute Lord!" The man blurted out loud.
Meanwhile, Richard laughed, taking a step closer.
"This is so like Boss! I don’t intend to lose to anyone!"
As everybody began to slowly tread towards Michael, he had closed his eyes to concentrate. Taking his past life into account, his killing intent was much more intense than it was meant to be.
Considering that his teammates were going to be facing the strongest factions soon, where there would be Absolute and even Supreme Lords among their ranks, it was vital they get familiar with the overwhelming sensation.
Otherwise, all strategies would be rendered useless if everyone buckled under the pressure at the very start.
Usually, in this style of training, the individual of the highest realm was expected to unleash their full killing intent, as it was typically the most intense. Yet in this case, Michael was unquestionably the best choice.
"If anyone heard that his aura is superior to mine, they would laugh in my face and call me a madman..." Cayson muttered. "Just as I thought, joining this faction will finally push me to the next level."
Now that the Lord had grasped the true purpose of the exercise, he steeled his resolve and stepped forward, the others following suit.
Once someone reached their limit, they would settle onto the ground in a cultivation position. That way, their bodies, minds, and spirits would gradually become accustomed to the overwhelming pressure, allowing them to push further when they felt the tension subsiding.
Coincidentally, even Scarlett and Isabella were allowed to join the training if they wished. Unlike a typical soldier’s exercise, this one was meant to challenge oneself. As such, Michael knew that, despite appearances, they couldn’t truly get hurt.
Eventually, everyone had settled onto the ground, soon realizing that this was going to be one of the most taxing training sessions they had endured in a while.
Sweat built across their bodies as everyone silently reached a grim consensus.
"This week is going to be hellishly long..."
Of course, time continued to pass, and the first round of the tournament finally concluded.
Inevitably, the moment for the next clash arrived. After spending the previous day recovering from Michael’s pressure, the Indomitable Alliance made their way toward the center of the blessed lands.
By now, the live broadcast was bursting with anticipation. The commentators mirrored the excitement.
"The day has come where we will witness the Indomitable Alliance in battle once more!" a male voice echoed.
"Absolutely! But can they really win against all odds?" The female commentator added, hyping up the livestream.
To make sense of the overwhelming flood of messages, the chat had to be paused.
[Hater 101: The Unbroken Chain is much more powerful than the Eternal Blade! The Indomitable Alliance will meet their match this round!]
[Gambling Enjoyer: Want to bet on that?]
While the opinion was split, the Unbroken Chain remained unfazed by the pressure.
After all, they had five Lords in their ranks! There was no way that they were going to lose to a faction that didn’t have any!
Though as they awaited their opponent, that belief quickly faded. An article was suddenly published, skyrocketing to the top of the trending page with its bold proclamation.
Surprisingly, the Indomitable Alliance had gained new members!
No one knew about the news except Skylar and Luis, so the reporter duo took full advantage of it.
Lord Zagar, the leader of the Unbroken Chain, was ready to rebut that claim... until Michael entered the arena, his faction following closely behind.
"..."
True to the article’s report, the Indomitable Alliance had not only doubled in members but now counted three Lords among their ranks. On top of all that, the original members of the faction looked even more threatening than before, having withstood their leader’s aura for so long.
"Ah..."
Suddenly all plans of glory Zagar held for his faction went up in the air.
"We are royally screwed."
Even the Emperor was momentarily stunned. For a faction to gain so much power in such a short time was indeed extraordinary.
Without lingering needlessly, he immediately transported the two battling factions into the spatially manipulated battle space.
Unlike last time, the second round was to be held in an desert. The climate was harsh, and the surroundings were characterized by low humidity and unbearably high heat.
"At least things will catch fire easier now." Victoria heaved a sigh of relief. She would be able to shine properly this time.
With a faint smile, Michael surveyed his faction, now doubled in size.
"I admit we struggled quite a bit last time, since our forces were spread too thin for comfort."
He paused briefly.
"Well... today will be the opposite. Rather than waiting for their first move, we will be going on the offensive."
His eyes gleamed crimson.
"Show them the result of your training."
With no more words needed to be said, everyone charged forward.
The kinetic energy from their collective dash unleashed a force so great that it reshaped the desert in their wake, sending a looming sandstorm soaring into the air, moving straight toward the castle of the Unbroken Chain.
All the Unbroken Chain could do was brace themselves for the monstrous storm that was about to follow.
