Supreme Taming Authority-Chapter 49: Saving Xian Yu, Success!
"Activate!" Xian Yu shouted.
The jade began to shine with brilliant white light.
Liu Qian’s hand shot to his spatial ring. He pulled out a small black crystal that pulsed with dark energy. A treasure of his own, clearly prepared for exactly this situation.
"Shadow Piercing Thorn!" he shouted, channeling his spiritual energy into the crystal.
The black artifact transformed. It became a thin needle of pure darkness, barely visible against the air. The technique was designed to bypass protective formations and strike directly at the target within.
An assassination treasure. Rare and expensive.
Liu Qian threw it with perfect precision, aiming for Yu’er’s heart.
The needle shot forward, phasing through the barrier like it didn’t exist.
Yu’er’s eyes widened in horror. She tried to dodge, but exhaustion made her movements slow. The needle was too fast.
It was going to kill her before she could activate the seal.
Time seemed to slow.
From his position at the edge of the plaza, Xian Tiandi’s golden eyes tracked the needle’s movement. His mind processed the trajectory, the speed, the inevitable conclusion.
’Supreme Taming Dao,’ he thought.
His cultivation base erupted. Spiritual energy flooded through his meridians at maximum capacity. The unique authority of his Dao technique activated, reaching out toward the black needle with invisible threads of power.
Supreme Taming Dao was the technique he’d pioneered in his past life. The power that had allowed him to reach the peak of the universe. It could tame anything. Living beings. Spiritual energy. Even abstract concepts like time and space.
At his current weak cultivation level, using it was incredibly draining. But he had no choice.
The invisible threads of his authority wrapped around the Shadow Piercing Thorn. The needle resisted, fighting against his control. It was a powerful artifact, designed to be unstoppable once launched.
But Xian Tiandi’s will was absolute.
The needle slowed. First by a fraction. Then more. Its forward momentum fighting against his taming authority.
Xian Tiandi gritted his teeth. Sweat beaded on his forehead. His spiritual energy drained rapidly, pouring into the technique at an alarming rate.
’Not enough,’ he realized. ’Just slowing it won’t save her. I need to reverse it completely.’
He pushed harder. His Chaos Spirit Root blazed within his dantian, providing the necessary foundation for such an impossible feat.
The taming threads multiplied, wrapping the needle in layer after layer of suppressive power.
The Shadow Piercing Thorn stopped completely, hovering in mid-air just inches from Yu’er’s chest.
Then it began moving backward.
Slowly at first, then faster. The artifact was being forced to return to its sender.
Liu Qian’s eyes widened in shock. "What? That’s impossible!"
The needle shot back toward him at incredible speed. He tried to dodge, but the artifact’s own homing properties worked against him. It tracked his movements automatically.
*Thud!*
The Shadow Piercing Thorn struck Liu Qian in the shoulder. The dark energy within it exploded outward.
*Boom!*
The backlash was devastating. Liu Qian screamed as the artifact’s power tore through his body. The two Golden Core elders were caught in the explosion’s radius, both thrown backward by the shockwave.
Blood sprayed through the air. Liu Qian collapsed to his knees, clutching his mangled shoulder. The two elders staggered, injured but still standing.
Xian Tiandi’s vision blurred. The drain on his spiritual energy was extreme. His legs nearly buckled, but he forced himself to remain upright.
His hand shot to his spatial ring. He pulled out a Qi Restoration Pill and swallowed it immediately. The medicinal energy flooded his system, stabilizing his depleted reserves.
"Now!" he shouted to Elder Feng and Elder Qiu.
The two Golden Core cultivators had been watching in stunned silence, barely able to process what they’d just witnessed. But Xian Tiandi’s shout snapped them back to action.
They shot forward as one, crossing the plaza in an instant.
Elder Feng reached Yu’er’s barrier first. His spiritual energy flared, reinforcing the weakened formation and preventing its collapse.
Elder Qiu positioned himself between Yu’er and the enemy cultivators, his presence radiating Golden Core level power.
Xian Tiandi ran to his sister’s side. The barrier opened to allow him through, recognizing that he meant no harm.
Yu’er’s legs gave out. She collapsed forward, and Xian Tiandi caught her before she hit the ground.
"Big Brother?" she whispered, her voice weak with exhaustion and disbelief. "How did you..."
"Rest," Xian Tiandi said gently. "You’re safe now."
Yu’er’s eyes closed. The jade pendant around her neck stopped glowing as she lost consciousness. The activation had been interrupted, the seal’s power returning to dormancy.
On the other side of the plaza, the second Golden Core elder was helping Liu Qian to his feet. The younger cultivator’s shoulder was a ruined mess, blood pouring from the wound.
"The plan is compromised," the first elder said grimly. "We need to retreat. Now."
"But the treasure..." Liu Qian gasped through the pain.
"Is worthless if we’re dead," the second elder snapped. He pulled out a teleportation talisman. "We leave immediately."
The first elder nodded. His hands moved in complex patterns, weaving a technique that created a swirling portal of dark energy.
"This isn’t over," he called out across the plaza. "Tell your sect leader that the Four Spirits Sect has returned. Tell her that we will reclaim what was stolen from our founder."
"And tell her," the second elder added with a cold smile. "That she won’t be able to stop us."
*Whoosh!*
The portal swallowed all three of them. Liu Qian, still bleeding heavily, was pulled through along with the two elders. The dark energy collapsed inward and vanished.
They were gone.
Elder Feng’s spiritual sense immediately probed the area where the portal had been. "They used a long-range teleportation treasure. I can’t track them."
"The secret realm’s barrier," Elder Qiu said, looking up at the sky. "It’s collapsing."
The shimmering dome that had sealed the ruins was fracturing. Cracks spread across its surface like breaking glass. Whoever had maintained the formation must have fled along with the attackers.
*Crash!*
