Capítulo 1848: Chapter 2049: Women Have Many Sides Too!

If he swallowed this anger, would he still be a man? Would he still be able to get by in Hua City? People would laugh at him if they knew about it. So, he must take revenge and repay Hao Jian two or three times for this humiliation.

Thinking of this, he angrily shook his hand and disappeared into the hallway.

The scene shifts to Liang Xiaohan’s room. Hao Jian pulled her inside and then casually closed the door, leading her to the middle of the living room. At this moment, Hao Jian was still enjoying the moment, sighing in his heart about how smooth Liang Xiaohan’s hand was; holding it was really comfortable, he really wished he could hold it forever.

However, just as this thought occurred in his mind, Liang Xiaohan’s cold voice suddenly lingered in his ears.

“How long are you planning to hold my hand for?” Liang Xiaohan said coldly.

If it were any other guy, hearing this questioning tone from a girl would make them subconsciously withdraw their hand immediately. But the one holding Liang Xiaohan’s hand was Hao Jian; he had long mastered a face as thick as a wall. Does he still care about that little face?

So he continued to hold Liang Xiaohan’s hand and pretended to be surprised, as if he had just realized he was holding her hand, and said, “Ah! When did I hold your hand?”

Liang Xiaohan rolled her eyes at him, quickly pulled her hand back, and looked at him with disbelief. She wouldn’t fall for Hao Jian’s tricks; believing him would make her an idiot. His tricks might succeed with young girls but not with her.

Immediately, she took back her hand and rolled her eyes at Hao Jian. After pausing for a moment, she guessed that a minute had passed and the Effeminate Man had already left in anger, so she shifted her gaze back to Hao Jian. She suddenly pulled his shirt and dragged him backward.

Hao Jian wanted to resist, but he had no chance to, and was dragged to the door. Liang Xiaohan opened the door and tossed him out. Before he could react, “Bang!” The door was shut tightly, and he was once again thrown out by Liang Xiaohan.

He thought he could slip by and let things slide, and everything would be fine. But as soon as he got in, Liang Xiaohan threw him out again. This… it’s the second time being thrown out. This is really pathetic.

However, this time he didn’t knock on the door. He had already seen through the cold and indifferent nature of women and would not do anything more for Liang Xiaohan. Since that was the case, there was no need to knock or suck up to her; she should handle her own affairs.

But just as he was about to leave in disappointment, with a “creak,” the previously closed door opened again. Liang Xiaohan appeared, and he turned back.

Liang Xiaohan peeked out and said, “Wait for me outside!”

Before she finished speaking, the door was slammed shut again, leaving Hao Jian standing alone in the hallway, being buffeted by the wind. He had planned to leave, disenchanted with this woman, but upon hearing Liang Xiaohan’s words, he changed his mind.

He had vowed not to care about Liang Xiaohan anymore, but women seemed to possess some kind of magic power that could easily change a man’s mind. Like Hao Jian at this moment, something he was firm about was now altered by Liang Xiaohan.

So, as he was about to leave, Hao Jian stopped, leaned against the wall, and waited for Liang Xiaohan to come out.

As for Liang Xiaohan, after saying that, she leisurely returned to her room to change clothes and put on some light makeup. She hadn’t really intended to kick Hao Jian out; it was the previous incidents that had left her with a grudge against him. She couldn’t let him stay in the room while she changed, or else she’d feel uneasy, thinking someone was watching her from behind.

So, as she was about to change, she subconsciously threw Hao Jian out, leaving him to wonder outside. Then she returned to change, but thought if Hao Jian got angry and left, she’d feel guilty. After all, he’d been a great help, and her actions seemed ungrateful.

The more she thought, the worse she felt. But she wasn’t about to let Hao Jian back in while she changed, so she opened the door again and told him to wait before returning to change and put on makeup.

After hearing her words, Hao Jian waited outside the door. Fortunately, he was used to how slow girls could be, so waiting ten minutes wasn’t hard. Finally, almost twenty minutes later, the door opened and Liang Xiaohan emerged dressed.

Seeing her, Hao Jian’s eyes lit up. This version of Liang Xiaohan seemed like a completely different person, having transformed from her usual cold, aloof, Goddess-like appearance to something warm and cute, like a girl next door.

Now, wearing white stockings, a plaid skirt that showed neither plumpness nor skinniness, topped with a white knitted sweater and round silver-rimmed glasses, she looked completely different from her previous self.

If she used to have an air of keeping people at a distance, now she was approachable and cheerful. Her entire demeanor had changed.

Seeing this, Hao Jian was a bit dazed until Liang Xiaohan stepped on his foot, bringing him back to reality. She shot him a glare. He remained a bit stunned by Liang Xiaohan’s sudden change.

They say a man has seven faces, but this saying wasn’t quite complete. Not only men had multiple sides; women did too. The usual proud, cold Liang Xiaohan was one side, the unexpected candid photo of her was another, and now as an artsy Goddess, yet another.

Men weren’t the only ones with many faces—women could have many too. After realizing this, Hao Jian felt more at ease.

Then he asked, “Why have you got me waiting? Where are you going dressed like this?”

Liang Xiaohan smiled, walking ahead and said, “Why ask so much? Just do your job as my driver.”

Hearing this, Hao Jian felt a bit upset. He was usually the one taking advantage of others, but these days, it seemed Liang Xiaohan was the one calling the shots. He thought she might apologize, treat him to a meal or something to make up for her mistakes. But she just needed a driver and decided to make him one.

This thought made Hao Jian’s face show dissatisfaction. But he still followed her, took the elevator down, and both got into the car. In the car, Hao Jian smiled and asked, “Alright then, Miss, where are you planning to go now?”

Liang Xiaohan, looking all dignified, pointed forward and said, “To the city hospital!”

Saying that, she looked away, gazing outside. Hao Jian smiled. He thought she had more important plans but realized she was going to check on Awu and the others. She was a good leader, indeed, always caring about her subordinates’ injuries.

With this in mind, Hao Jian kept silent, knowing the way to the city hospital well enough not to need navigation. He started the car and drove there.

The drive was smooth, Liang Xiaohan didn’t speak, just gazed outside. Hao Jian stayed silent too, focusing on the road. After about twenty minutes, they arrived at their destination, parked downtown, and entered the hospital together, heading towards the inpatient department.

While walking, Hao Jian didn’t notice someone behind him, recognizing his figure. Their eyes locked onto him and lit up with a fiery look. They wanted to rush over and greet him, but upon seeing the girl next to him and sensing their unusual relationship, their expression changed, and they angrily left in a huff.

Hao Jian, of course, was still oblivious to everything.
