Surviving in the Beast World with a System-Chapter 150: Witch Medicine
Wu Yue whispered. The atmosphere inside the cave was too oppressive.
She remembered that the last time she was gathering herbs, the System had mentioned several that could treat burns.
Yuan Qi shook his head. "His wounds were inflicted by a Fierce Beast that used a Talent Skill."
"Only medicine brewed with witch power is effective against injuries like these. Applying other herbs directly will just make his wounds rot."
Wu Yue froze. "Brewing herbs with witch power?"
Yuan Qi just nodded, saying nothing more.
At this, the System came online again, exasperated with her. "Host, you must have been a total slacker in your past life."p>
"Witch medicine is just slowly infusing the witch power from your body into the concoction while you’re brewing it. Understand?"
Wu Yue looked completely lost. "How do I infuse it?"
The System: "..." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
’Why was I assigned such a blockheaded host?’
"It’s just like that external release of witch power you were practicing. You condense your witch power and put it into the medicinal liquid, pill, or paste, and that makes it witch medicine."
Wu Yue nodded. "Then I’ll go give it a try. If I succeed, I might be able to save a Beastman’s life."
She left the cave, set up a simple stove outside, and placed her small, rustic stone pot on top.
Externally releasing her witch power was usually simple, but now, it proved to be incredibly difficult.
The released witch power would dissipate every time she tried to immerse it in the medicine.
The atmosphere inside the cave remained heavy. By evening, the injured Beastman had finally developed a fever.
"Let’s set out tomorrow. He’s already running a fever. If we don’t go now, it’ll be too late."
The Beastmen’s solemn voices echoed one after another.
Just then, Wu Yue walked in carrying the stone pot, her small face covered in soot.
Yuan Lang, who was just entering the cave after gathering some fruit, immediately stepped forward and took the scalding stone pot from her. Frowning, he looked at her. "You should have asked one of the Beastmen to carry that."
Wu Yue pouted. ’I don’t want another lecture. Beastman Warriors aren’t for doing chores.’
The bitter medicinal aroma from the stone pot slowly spread through the cave, instantly clearing the minds of the Beastmen inside.
The stone pot was placed on a ledge to one side, and all the Beastmen’s eyes were drawn to it.
Yuan Qi looked at Wu Yue. "Is this... an herbal remedy?"
’It has a strange effect. An herb that can sharpen their minds... They could each drink some later to restore their energy.’
Wu Yue smiled and nodded. "This medicine is for the injured Beastman Warrior."
Yuan Qi frowned, a wry smile on his face. "I know you mean well, Wu Yue, but there’s still energy from the Fierce Beast’s Talent Skill lingering in his body. Only witch medicine will work."
A confident smile appeared on Wu Yue’s small, soot-covered face, though no one could see it clearly.
"This *is* witch medicine. I spent the entire afternoon experimenting. It might not be as good as one made by a witch, but it should still work."
The young female’s clear voice echoed through the cave. The Beastmen all froze, as if they’d heard something utterly unbelievable.
Teng Qian pinched his younger brother, who was beside him, and looked at Wu Yue with a strained laugh. "You’re saying that’s witch medicine?"
He shot to his feet and headed straight for the cave entrance. "Could a witch be passing by?"
As he spoke, he made to go outside and check, and Yuan Lang followed, his eyes dark and thoughtful.
Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, Wu Yue glanced at them before turning to Yuan Qi. "Uncle Yuan Qi, you’ve seen witch medicine before, haven’t you? Why don’t you come and take a look?"
