Surviving in the Beast World with a System-Chapter 33: Wataah~
"AHHH!!!" After a scream so piercing it sent the Bird Beasts scattering, the Female Vjra frantically clawed the uniquely foul-smelling Beast Skin out of her mouth. She stuck her sturdy rear end in the air, collapsed to the ground, and began wailing and retching.
Who knew what she had eaten for her morning meal, but its stench, complementing that of the foot-wrap Beast Skin, created a truly unique bouquet.
The surrounding tribe members clutched their noses and mouths, backing away as if someone had hit a fast-forward button. Within moments, there wasn’t a single person within several paces of the Female Vjra.
Sharp-eyed Wu Yue even noticed that the male Half beastmen who had just been fawning over the Female Vjra were now scrambling away as fast as their big feet could carry them.
Aya, who had managed to stifle her own scream, watched awkwardly as her friend wailed and retched. She reached out a hand, but ultimately lacked the courage to go over and help her up.
’The stench is overwhelming. Didn’t you see? Even the Half beastmen couldn’t take it.’
Her expression shifted between pale and livid for a moment. Then, as if she’d had a sudden realization, she whipped her head around to glare at Wu Yue, her face contorted in a snarl. "This is all your fault! If you hadn’t shoved that stinking Beast Skin in my face, Ye Duo wouldn’t be in this state! This is all your fault."
Aya’s hysterical fit was truly an ugly sight. Wu Yue sneered, "I suggest you keep your distance. Provoke me again, and it won’t be a piece of Beast Skin flying your way next time. I’ve tolerated you time and again out of respect for the Clan Leader, but you keep looking for trouble with me. Do you really think I’m a pushover?"
Wu Yue’s face turned cold, and her low, steady voice was surprisingly intimidating. The surrounding tribe members began to cast strange glances toward Aya and the Clan Leader.
It was true. Taking advantage of her status as the Clan Leader’s daughter, Aya had often, both openly and covertly, ostracized the tribe’s elderly and weak. But everyone had always let it slide out of respect for the Clan Leader and his family.
Suddenly finding himself dragged into the conflict, the Clan Leader’s expression soured. He was all too aware of his daughter’s disposition; he had warned her in private numerous times, but she had never changed her ways. It was a source of great distress for him and his mate.
Seeing Aya’s face flush red, he suddenly felt this might be for the best. ’Let her learn that not every member of the tribe will put up with her.’
Feeling the tribe members’ strange gazes on her, Aya’s eyes turned bloodshot, and she was overcome by a profound sense of shame.
’Why are Father and Amu both Beastman Warriors, but I, their child, am just a weak Pure Human...’
’Even my worst-off siblings are Half beastman Warriors... ’
As if possessed, her gaze toward Wu Yue grew increasingly vicious. It was as if years of pent-up negative emotions had erupted all at once.
With a wild cry, she lunged at Wu Yue.
Wu Yue had already sensed something was wrong when she noticed the shift in the other girl’s emotions. Seeing Aya’s bloodshot eyes and increasingly ferocious glare—as if she wanted to eat her alive—Wu Yue secretly put her guard up.
Sure enough, just as Wu Yue got to her feet, Aya lunged at her like a madwoman. Her untrimmed fingernails were sharp, the spaces underneath them caked with some unidentifiable blackish-red substance.
’Getting scratched by those things would definitely not end well.’
What’s your first reaction when someone lunges at you?
Dodge, of course. Wu Yue dropped low, landing on a Half beastman. Ignoring his soft grunt, she was back on her feet and behind Aya in a flash.
Without hesitation, she lifted her foot, let out a strange cry of "HI-YAH~," and kicked Aya square in the butt.
