Chapter 227: Chapter 48 The Elf Who Wants to Meet with Hill

Prime Minister of Saral began to announce the penalties for those associated with the conspirators, unveiling a thick stack of documents.

Mr. Fran and the other two weren’t interested in this. Adrian stood up, "Teacher, I’m going back to the Magic Tower. I have to inform Boen to delegate some of the routine management tasks."

"Come back after you’ve made the arrangements," Fran said impassively. "You must oversee these Alchemy Factory machines from start to finish."

Adrian departed dejectedly and vanished in an instant.

"Grandfather," Hill asked softly, "is Boen in some kind of trouble? Otherwise, Uncle Adrian wouldn’t have specifically asked Boen to go to Kexlote."

"I’ve heard Adrian mention it once or twice," Fran shook his head. "After learning about the demon incident, that Lina approached Boen numerous times, urging him to send his younger siblings to stay in the Magic Tower."

"Is Boen too kind to them?" Hill said helplessly. "I always thought Lina wouldn’t hurt her own son that much. Why has she changed so quickly?"

"At least he’s not foolish enough to agree," Fran said coldly. "Let him stay in Kexlote for a few decades. We’ll talk once he becomes an Archmage."

Hill had always thought that although Lina was partial, she was still sensible and knew her eldest son had a promising future. She wouldn’t easily offend Boen. He wondered what had happened these past two years to change her so much.

Fran glanced at Hill, who was utterly confused, and patted his hair helplessly, "Go back to the Magic Tower and sort out your gains for now. I will tell List if anything comes up. For the time being, I’ll be focusing solely on this Alchemy Factory."

Hill touched his hair and, although he always felt Fran was withholding something from him, he didn’t suspect anything major. So he smiled, bade his grandfather farewell, and went home.

Watching Hill leave cheerfully, Fran sighed resignedly.

"List," he called out slowly to Hill’s Tower Spirit, "if that Lina comes here, do not inform Hill."

"Yes, Mr. Fran," List appeared quietly. "May I know the reason?"

"Hill’s mother, the one who failed that Alchemy Experiment, it was a variant of the Youth Potion," Fran spoke without emotion. "While it’s not as malevolent, it isn’t exactly benign either. Lina surely knows the details and even lent a hand. Her fear of demons comes from knowing her faction might be a bit problematic."

List felt its core thudding chaotically and took a while to regain composure, promptly deleting Hill’s naive and pitiful impressions of his stepmother—as pure, beautiful, and innocent. They were too heartbreaking for its core.

Although List had long known that Hill was a straightforward man of the Wood-Earth Element, it really hadn’t anticipated that the normally attentive Hill could have made such a blunder.

Fran, seeing his ever-steady and mild-mannered Tower Spirit almost dissipate in shock, realized that Hill truly hadn’t noticed anything.

He looked at the clear blue sky outside, feeling it was better not to unveil the truth in front of Hill.

Unsuspecting Hill, buoyed by excitement, hurried home to unpack.

After some thought, Hill decided to go to the Water Materials warehouse to unveil this grand surprise.

Upon entering, he felt as though the warehouse had turned into a kindergarten for water elementals.

The Water Balls bouncing chaotically in the pools were a boundless surprise to him.

Hill had previously instructed the elementals not to divide spontaneously, so these new Elemental Sprites must be the result of the abundant water elementals in his estate naturally generating new sprites.

If this continued, Hill felt that his estate could eventually develop a Water Elemental Crystal Vein. Presently able to manage such a small-scale mine, he stopped paying it much attention.

Standing on a patch of open ground, Hill channeled his mana into the tortoise shell.

The shell expanded rapidly and transformed into a small house.

Hill watched in astonishment. Although it retained the shape of a tortoise shell, it had indeed become a house.

Unlike the Magister-level shell, the legendary shell now had a transformation feature, not just the ability to enlarge or shrink.

Hill approached the front entrance, and as he did, the two semi-circular doors swung open upwards.

Leading the curious water elementals behind him, Hill walked inside.

Standing at the center of the house, he looked at the shelves lined with a variety of items and felt there was only one word to describe his emotions: "Ah~~~~~"

The Turtle Demigod probably had past dealings with humans, generously providing Hill with a large bounty of deep-sea resources.

Unike Bex, who offered only water materials, the deep sea had everything—metal, earth, even wood and fire elements weren’t scarce. Materials from deep-sea volcanic caves were especially precious and valuable!

But Hill was too distracted to focus on these items. He hurried to the end of the room, his face alight with excitement, and beheld a Crystal Flower blooming quietly in a Tridacna shell filled with seawater. Its silvery-white transparent petals and stems spread out over ten meters, bewitchingly beautiful.

This was an extremely rare and unique plant from the deep sea, primarily of the Wood Element, but also of the Water Element! Rare and encountered only in specific locations, it made the Saintess’s Tears seem utterly insignificant by comparison.

Only an ancient being like the Turtle Demigod, who had lived for hundreds of thousands of years, could afford to part with such treasures so easily.

What on earth could the old turtle possibly want? Hill swore to himself that he would do everything in his power to fulfill the creature’s desires!
