Chapter 253: Chapter 61: The Fool of the Mage Association Falls in Love with an Elf_2

"Eight o’clock."

"It’s only 7 o’clock now! How could someone arrive a whole hour early."

Attending a banquet early, no matter which world one is in, is never a commendable act; it’s usually seen as rude.

Hill saw a mage hurriedly running out of the Magic Tower, probably the only one who had changed into his outfit. There were supposed to be several mages standing at the entrance to welcome guests together.

As expected, while he stood at the door exchanging pleasantries with someone alighting from a carriage, several more people rushed out in a fluster.

Those greeting guests usually grab something to eat before the banquet starts, freshen up, and then dress up.

This early arrival today caught everyone off guard.

Hill looked down at Adrian, walking from the Magic Tower toward the White Tower, with an unpleasant look on his face, clearly annoyed. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"Who is that, Grandfather?" Hill was curious.

"From the Mage Association." Fran kept watching, his brow also furrowing.

"What’s the problem, Grandfather? Is there an issue with them?"

"He should have come with someone from the Saral branch." Fran said thoughtfully, "Why did he leave them behind and come by himself? And so early? Is there trouble within the Mage Association?"

Hill remembered that the president of the Saral branch had a fairly good relationship with Fran.

"They’re not trying to undercut us, are they?" he still didn’t understand, "Who arrives this much ahead of time? Uncle Adrian is going to be furious!"

"Let’s see if Adrian comes up." Fran said nonchalantly, "If he doesn’t come up, it just means this person is a fool, and there’s no need for us to bother."

If he comes up, does it mean something big has happened, and this person is rushing to report it?

Hill turned around to look outside the door, but unfortunately, even as guests gradually began to arrive at 8 o’clock, Adrian did not show up.

Hill sighed deeply.

Fran couldn’t help but laugh, "Do you really want something to happen?"

"I simply don’t want to believe the representative of the Mage Association can be that foolish," Hill said, "Is it the same one who questioned His Majesty the King the other day? Hasn’t the Mage Association pulled him back yet? Are they out of their minds?"

"As long as he doesn’t cause a major incident, the Mage Association certainly won’t remove him," Fran said indifferently, "In the eyes of the Mage Association, they believe themselves to be above ordinary nations, so offending is just offending."

He looked at Hill, who was about to speak, "You mean because His Majesty the King is different? You really don’t understand those Legendary Mages. If it was a regular king, they might even reprimand this fool, but when it comes to deities, they tend to be more assertive.

The Legendary Mages of the Association would definitely not bow to a deity; they would stick to their mistake."

Is this a defiance against the spokesperson of the Law? Hill couldn’t help but scratch his head, feeling baffled.

Fran couldn’t help but pat his head, "Stop thinking about it. You’ll understand some things when you reach Legendary status. But their reaction is indeed too much. They can’t even see the Starry Sky clearly because they’ve overcorrected."

Hearing Fran’s lament, Hill asked, "Shouldn’t we be looking for the path in the Elemental Realm?"

"The Starry Sky must be compared with the Elemental Realm to be effective," Fran realized, remembering that Hill had more connections with the Elemental Realm and probably knew the significance of the Elemental Realm to paths above Legendary status. "Don’t tell anyone you know these things. If you let anything slip, remember to say I told you."

Hill nodded.

"Your Element Lord sure tells you everything," Fran shook his head, "Maybe in the future, I’ll have to ask you for some hints."

Hill sensed a commotion outside and quickly lowered his head to look: the Elf Princess had arrived.

"How does she have an invitation?" Before he could finish speaking, he saw the foolish representative from the Mage Association eagerly come out to greet her.

Indeed, each invitation could be accompanied by three people.

Hill looked at his grandfather, "Does the Saral Mage Branch still have invitations?"

Fran was also genuinely shocked.

He blinked hard and instructed Hill, "There are blank invitations on the table; write quickly, inviting the President of the Saral Mage Branch and the accompanying personnel. Then go deliver it, the invitation will show his location."

Hill remembered that branch president had a high status within the Mage Association, one of those who wouldn’t get kicked out despite causing trouble.

To abandon such a person to flatter this Elf Princess, Hill wondered whether the Mage was blinded by infatuation or just incredibly bold.

After Hill wrote the invitation with a special magic pen, he widened his eyes to see that the branch president was squatting just a kilometer away from the Magic Tower.

"Where is he?" Fran asked, "Is he nearby? Hurry and go."

"Just a kilometer away. I’m on it," Hill said, hurrying to jump out the back window.

Fortunately, even though flying was forbidden, I could still use Levitation to avoid a deadly fall.

Otherwise, even if I could jump down, the noise would be too great.

Hill quickly activated a concealment spell and ran out at his fastest speed.

Although Fran had become legendary, he was still a Mage. He absolutely did not want the Mage Association to lose face completely.

Hill felt sure that the president of this branch knew this too, which is why he stealthily followed the Elf here.

In his haste, Hill suddenly condensed a whirlwind under his feet and dashed out at double the speed.

He quickly stopped and dispelled the spell.

Frowning, Hill knew that he probably couldn’t deceive William if his eyes were on this place at the moment.

But that did not necessarily mean others would realize what was happening.

He continued to move swiftly, using the speed of a Sky Knight.

Hill soon stopped at a corner and canceled the spell. The president of the Saral Mage Branch stepped out expressionlessly from the shadows, followed by three people.

Looking at the invitation Hill respectfully offered, he took it and said, "Fortunately, Master Fran is a sensible man."

To save face, he even had to bring a full entourage, implying they indeed had two invitations.

The president had no desire to exchange pleasantries with Hill and directly led his people onto an Alchemy Carriage: "You return later, try not to attract attention."

Watching the carriage depart, Hill let out a breath.

In fact, it was only a matter of maintaining appearances; the attendees today probably all had an idea.

Since everyone was a Mage, if the Association lost face, they would all be embarrassed. It was likely they could cover it up together ambiguously.

Bathed in the dazzling light of The River of Time and Space, Hill prepared to take a leisurely stroll back.

Hill quietly returned to the White Tower and jumped into the building through an open window on the second-floor corridor.

Back in Fran’s room upstairs, he directed a Puppet to tidy him up. Hill said with a smile to Fran, "The branch president is quite angry."

"I bet he would rather have this fool fight with him for power and profit," Fran sneered coldly. "Being outwitted by such a person doesn’t reflect well on him either."

"Miller and Carl have both arrived," Fran said, looking out the window. "Let’s also prepare to go down."

"To deal with our grandfather, it’s rare for those two to be so united," Hill couldn’t help but comment.

When Hill saw Adrian go out to greet them, both of the legendary Mages showed dissatisfaction on their faces.

"They’re not happy?" Hill asked in confusion. "Aren’t they just ordinary people? Do they also deserve to be received personally by our grandfather?" According to tradition, it should be the heirs who welcome higher-ranking guests.

Only if the visitor outranked Fran would he be warranted to welcome them at the entrance.

Fran said disdainfully, "Two of them together think they can overpower me? Wishful thinking."

He led Hill to a flying disc: "Since the Elf Princess has arrived, don’t leave my side."

Hill was puzzled, "Would she really throw herself into my arms? Even if she truly did, I wouldn’t just accept it, right?"

"But it’s disgusting," Fran stated firmly. "I don’t want to quibble with a bunch of idiots."

Hill couldn’t help but laugh.

The flying disc quickly descended to the ground, and Hill followed Fran towards the two Legendary Mages.

Adrian quickly came up as well.

"The Legend of Carl, Miller’s Legend," Fran said reservedly as he nodded slightly to the two men.

"Congratulations to Master Fran on becoming a Legendary Mage," Carl responded with a smile right away.

Miller, the Legendary Mage, was a few seconds slower to join in.

Hill, following behind, almost couldn’t stop himself from laughing; Miller’s relationship with Fran had been better than Carl’s.

He probably hadn’t expected Fran to greet Carl first.

The grudge from the last time Adrian had been left alone outside the cabin was not only remembered by Hill.
