Chapter 267: Final Comprehension of the Great Dao

The Origin Continent had entered its final age. It was estimated that in several billion eras, it would fall into complete silence. Those Emperors and Monarchs who could not comprehend a complete Origin Path would have to leave the Origin Continent before that inevitable extinction arrived.

Now, their struggle for resources had become even more blatant.

It was only because Luo Feng had promoted the rule of “Those who commit great sins must die” that the chaos was somewhat contained. Otherwise, the Divine Kings cultivating the Primordial Bloodline on the Origin Continent, fearful of perishing with it, would have devoured countless living beings to prolong their existence.

“Term of duty for guarding the Heavenly Pillar Realm—Luo He’s term has ended.” The current ruler, Emperor Fu, smiled as he said, “Naturally, we must select a new guest official. Who among you would like to make a recommendation?”

Emperor Fu had the authority to make appointments directly.

However, even his power to assign valuable royal tasks was limited. This time, Emperor Fu had clearly made the Heavenly Pillar Realm assignment open for the other Emperors to compete for.

In the end, the task still fell to Emperor Yan and his group.

Emperor Yan, Emperor Xi, and Emperor Wu joined forces. Considering Emperor Yuan was dead and Emperor Qing did not interfere—while the current ruler Emperor Fu abstained from competing—their small alliance possessed the strongest influence.

Emperor Kong, Emperor Xuan, Emperor Jiufeng, Emperor Wu, Emperor You, Emperor Ming, and Emperor Chu were all rather independent in nature.

“The next mission—the guarding of the treasure land ‘Heaven and Earth Labyrinth’…” Emperor Fu continued.

One assignment after another was determined.

“The next task—guarding the Fire Prison Realm. The Fire Prison Realm nurtures many Primordial Bloodline Creatures of the Second Stage Divine King level. To serve as guardian, at least a Second Stage Divine King is required,” said Emperor Fu. “Who wishes to take this assignment?”

“I’ll take the task of guarding the Fire Prison Realm,” Emperor Chu said.

“From your Emperor Chu Lineage, the only one suited for that task would be Luo He, wouldn’t it?” Emperor Yan frowned. “He just finished guarding the Heavenly Pillar Realm, and now you want to send him to the Fire Prison Realm? Are all the good things going to him? We of the royal clan must have order when managing these guest officials! Only those who have rendered sufficient service and hardship deserve appropriate rewards.”

Emperor Chu looked puzzled. “Guarding the Fire Prison Realm—isn’t that a troublesome and exhausting job?”

“This Luo He cultivates the Path of Life—everyone knows this. The Fire Prison Realm’s method of breeding Primordial Bloodline Creatures contains countless mysteries of life. How could we let him freely glimpse it?” Emperor Yan said coldly.

The Flame Wind Ancestor could only stably nurture creatures with Primordial Bloodlines at the Second Stage Divine King level. On rare occasions, an Ultimate Realm Primordial Bloodline Creature would appear.

“I’ll take that task.” Emperor Wu spoke up. “I intend to personally serve as the guardian of the Fire Prison Realm and study the mysteries of life thoroughly.”

He, too, had cultivated the Path of Life, though he had never fully comprehended the Origin Path.

With Emperor Wu’s words, the others could only withdraw.

When competing for such tasks, priority naturally went to the Emperors.

Moments later—

All the assignments had been distributed, and the Emperors departed one after another.

“Emperor Yan,” Emperor Fu called, keeping him behind.

“What is it?” Emperor Yan looked toward his old friend.

“Emperor Yan, your hostility toward Luo He—surely Emperor Chu will inform his disciple about it,” said Emperor Fu. “You’re binding yourself to enmity with him.”

Emperor Yan replied indifferently, “That enmity was forged long ago.”

Their alliance of three Emperors had always been hostile to Emperor Chu, and thus, to Luo He as well.

“The Origin Continent’s resources are limited,” Emperor Yan continued coolly. “That Luo He’s talent is too great! If we don’t suppress him, he’ll surge even higher—snatching resources that should rightfully be ours.”

“You couldn’t tolerate Divine King Zongfu back then, and now you can’t tolerate Luo He either,” Emperor Fu sighed.

“We’re going beyond the Source World. Everything must be fought for!” Emperor Yan’s eyes turned cold. “To grow stronger, one must suppress the powerful rivals.”

“Such actions will bring karmic backlash,” Emperor Fu warned.

“If we’re to fight, why fear backlash?” Emperor Yan sneered and left.

Emperor Fu said no more.

“After observing for five hundred eras, I’m nearly certain—Luo He is the Lord of the Milky Way,” Emperor Fu thought to himself, sighing. “Emperor Yan, your ruthless tactics may finally meet an immovable wall.”

Emperor Yan and his faction had struck again and again—against Divine King Zongfu, Divine King Guixu, and others.

Some Divine Kings had their entire clans annihilated;

some only a few survivors remained by sheer luck.

That was why Divine King Zongfu and Divine King Guixu harbored endless hatred—their loved ones had all perished.

Luo Feng’s rise had simply been too swift, and since he displayed no obvious supreme treasures, Emperor Yan and his group had yet to make a move.

Heavenly Pillar Realm.

Before one of the towering Heavenly Pillars, Luo Feng stood silently, gazing intently.

His observations were multi-layered—using the Eye of Life and Death for distant viewing, his mental will to probe and sense, and his ordinary consciousness to see through the eyes of confined life within the world’s cages.

He observed from many perspectives, letting them reflect one another.

“Rumble~~~”

Through the Eye of Life and Death, Luo Feng saw a surging black river, wildly sweeping across everything in its path.

“This is one of the mysteries of life within the Primordial Space—far deeper and vaster than the ‘Path of Life’ within the Supreme Laws,” Luo Feng studied carefully.

The Path of Life in the Supreme Laws encompassed the mysteries of all life on the Origin Continent.

But what of the greater realms?

Within the Primordial Space, the Source Worlds were countless—there were billions more worlds, endless naturally born Primordial Lifeforms, and immeasurable unknowns and mysteries.

The ‘Mysteries of Life’ in the Primordial Space far surpassed those within the Origin Continent.

“Thirty-six Heavenly Pillars, nine Great Paths—each Path has four pillars, each pillar a distinct direction,” Luo Feng pondered. “Senior Yuan and the others truly had good intentions. These Heavenly Pillars are like lanterns lit in the darkness, illuminating the way forward.”

Each Great Path could be glimpsed through four directions within the Heavenly Pillar Realm—each showing the way beyond confinement.

“Brother Luo He, I have come to take over the Heavenly Pillar Realm guardian duty,” said a gray-robed elder arriving at one of the entrances, meeting one of Luo Feng’s guardian avatars.

“The term of one thousand eras is up—it’s time for the handover. Come, I’ll take you to see Emperor Xuan,” Luo Feng said.

To him, serving as guardian mattered little.

As the Lord of the Milky Way, he could freely study the thirty-six Heavenly Pillars within the realm.

“Very well.”

The gray-robed elder accompanied Luo Feng to meet Emperor Xuan, and the formal handover was completed.

With that, Luo Feng had finished another mission.

Now, within the Ancient Flame Kingdom, only one of his assignments remained—the guardianship of Xiangjie City. After his clash with Great Sage Yan Su, Luo Feng had been punished to guard Xiangjie City for ten thousand eras. The term was far from over.

In Huyang City today, five vast mountain ranges encircled the region, forming a great formation that completely protected it.

If a powerful being could peer deep beneath those mountains, they would discover the five ranges shared one immense foundation—connected underground like a massive claw.

“The innate treasure, World-in-Palm,” Luo Feng thought. In these five hundred eras, though his strength was great and even with the Eye of Life and Death aiding his search, he had obtained only one innate treasure within the deep region of the Dream Domain.

It was a small, furry claw—naturally inscribed with endless mysterious secret patterns. When activated, a world would form within its palm.

Luo Feng named it World-in-Palm.

After refining it, he placed the claw beneath Huyang City. The five visible mountain ranges on the surface were but a small part of its true form.

“On the Origin Continent, only a few can glimpse the wonders of this innate treasure,” Luo Feng mused. “Perhaps, through this, they may guess that I am the Lord of the Milky Way.”

Whether his identity was exposed or not—Luo Feng no longer cared.

Originally, he had planned to purchase a formation-type treasure residence from Emperor Qing to protect Huyang City and the headquarters of the Blade River Sect. But this innate treasure was far more suitable.

By merely activating a fraction of its power, he could make it reach the upper limit of the Origin Continent’s might. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

“The Dream Domain truly is wondrous—it can naturally give birth to treasures.”

“In contrast, the life on the Origin Continent is far simpler.” Luo Feng walked across a desolate wilderness, gazing at the surrounding flowers, trees, and distant beasts.

With a glance, he could see the source of their life force—

All came from the Origin Continent’s energy source, absorbed by the living beings as they grew stronger.

“What is cultivation?”

“Cultivation is finding ways to absorb more energy, allowing one’s life form to continually evolve. As long as it conforms to the Supreme Laws’ operation, the stronger the life form becomes…”

As Luo Feng walked, the trees and grass around him began to grow rapidly.

The trees surged skyward—ten million kilometers, a hundred billion kilometers, a trillion kilometers—and as they grew, consciousness began to awaken within them. They began to think, to comprehend the heavens and earth.

Flowers and grass grew too—some rooted deep into the earth, others spread through the void.

Distant beasts began to transform as well—reaching True God of the Void, Eternal True God, Chaos, and even Divine King levels. One after another evolved, but their wills were too weak to control such immense bodies, and they eventually exploded with a boom.

“I can enlighten them, but only if their mental will is strong enough to control their physical forms,” Luo Feng shook his head lightly. “Under my guidance, their bodies can naturally evolve to the peak of the Second Stage Divine King level, but finding such powerful mental will is difficult.”

“Master.”

A towering tree condensed into the form of an elderly man and bowed respectfully.

A plant rooted underground transformed into a woman and bowed.

A flying beast condensed into the form of a youth and bowed as well.

All three possessed Chaos Realm strength—bestowed by external enlightenment.

“To enlighten a Divine King-level lifeform is no easy task,” Luo Feng smiled. “The Path of Life is boundless in its mysteries.”

While enlightening countless lives in groups, Luo Feng had finally and completely comprehended the Path of Life.

The Path of Life within the Supreme Laws now flowed through him without the slightest doubt.

How was life born?

How was it formed?

How did it grow?

How did it evolve?

All mysteries were now contained within his heart!
