Swallowed Star 2: Origin Continent-Chapter 277 : Volume Seven – Theft and Anti-Theft
Chapter 277: Volume Seven – Theft and Anti-Theft
Most merchants in Rainlan City operated within the inner city. Shortly after Luo Feng left his cave residence, he arrived at a nearby store.
The interior of the merchant's establishment was incredibly spacious, with numerous independent spaces, each housing and displaying the remains of low-rank Primordial Lifeforms.
“This honored guest.”
A servant promptly approached.
“I’m just looking for now,” Luo Feng replied without rushing into a purchase. He intended to browse the entire city before making any decisions.
The servant smiled. “Esteemed guest, our store specializes in ‘remains of low-rank Primordial Lifeforms.’ These remains can be used for comprehension and cultivation. Some large remains can be used for forging, alchemy, or physical refinement—and some even for extracting complete Primordial Bloodlines.”
“There sure are a lot of remains,” Luo Feng remarked as he glanced at the densely packed independent spaces, with over a dozen attendants stationed throughout. The formation array was also in operation.
“We have a total of 11,341 types of remains, all from low-rank Primordial Lifeforms,” another attendant added. “We’ve collected at least seventy percent of all low-rank Primordial races in the Jiugang Holy Realm.”
The ‘Simulated Eye of Life and Death’ on Luo Feng’s brow was already open, carefully inspecting each and every set of remains.
Cultivators in Rainlan City had various methods of observation, but as long as one didn’t break into an independent space to grab remains, the attendants wouldn’t mind any method of scrutiny.
“The innate Primordial Lifeform ‘Black Cloud Devourer’—God Emperor early stage, relatively weak,” Luo Feng observed.
Here, twelve body parts of the Black Cloud Devourer were up for sale.
Items like a single scale, a bone, or a vial of blood were suitable for cultivation insight, priced between just 100 to 500 Primordial Crystals each.
But parts such as a massive intact claw, the giant tendon running through its body, or a refined complete bloodline—all three of these were priced at 20,000 Primordial Crystals.
The most valuable was a fully intact life core, priced at 100,000 Primordial Crystals.
“This innate Primordial Lifeform’s life core is still intact?” Luo Feng was a bit surprised.
Innate Primordial Lifeforms possessed life cores. Just like the Source World had its Origin Land, this life core served as the source nucleus for ‘innate origin lifeforms.’ Once destroyed, the being would die—this was the most common method of killing them.
To kill one while preserving its life core was exceedingly rare.
“To think this innate Primordial Lifeform was disassembled and sold,” Luo Feng silently lamented. Its bloodline had been extracted, it had been used in alchemy, weapon forging... with a variety of uses.
But this was normal. Cultivators groped in the darkness of cultivation, and the best way to escape their confinement was to study these ‘innate Primordial Lifeforms’ who were already beyond those limits.
…
Luo Feng strolled through shop after shop. No matter where he went, since his lifeform aura had reached the early stage of God Emperor, the shop attendants were all extremely enthusiastic.
“Weapons and Secret Treasures.” Luo Feng also saw the prices for various secret treasures.
Secret treasures at the God Emperor early stage level were generally meant for Ultimate Divine Kings! Any casual strike from Luo Feng would be more powerful than those treasures. These typically started at 2,000 Primordial Crystals.
Mid-stage God Emperor, late-stage, complete stage—each level saw a sharp increase in price for secret treasures.
Innate secret treasures were even more expensive.
“Turns out I’m quite wealthy,” Luo Feng was quietly shocked upon seeing the prices of innate secret treasures. He realized how costly his own innate treasure, the ‘World-in-Palm,’ truly was. Of course, this secret treasure was used to shelter the Blade River Sect, and with his strength still lacking, it wasn’t yet suitable to bring inside.
“No matter the city in the Jiugang Holy Realm, there are always cases of killing, looting, and theft,” a servant commented. “This spatial-type secret treasure, the ‘Illusory Realm Labyrinth,’ can be fused into the body. Once stored inside, even in the Jiugang Holy Realm, few can steal it. Most powerful God Emperors have one.”
“Illusory Realm Labyrinth?” Luo Feng looked at the treasure. “What’s the price?”
“Not expensive. 100,000 Primordial Crystals apiece. It’s a standard price across the Jiugang Holy Realm,” the attendant replied with a smile.
Luo Feng turned and left immediately.
A God Emperor with a bit of savings could afford it. But Luo Feng had just arrived in the Jiugang Holy Realm—the 100,000 Primordial Crystals he possessed were borrowed from Emperor Qing. He certainly wouldn’t spend that on a storage item just to prevent theft.
…
“There are also many auxiliary cultivation treasures.”
Luo Feng looked at a variety of rare wonders.
The rare wonders of the Jiugang Holy Realm were all refined essences extracted from the bodies of innate Primordial Lifeforms. Consuming them aided cultivation significantly—far more effectively than Primordial Crystals. But the better the item, the higher the price.
…
“This secret treasure is called the ‘Formless Divine Armament.’ It can inscribe any kind of secret pattern. As long as the inscription is precise, it can immediately imitate any type of secret treasure. With this, you can try inscribing one type of secret treasure after another, and switch or alter them at any time,” a servant explained enthusiastically. “It’s useful for both combat and verifying your cultivation insights.”
Luo Feng was intrigued.
He could try inscribing some of his insights into the Star Tower or the Eye of Life and Death's deeper secret patterns.
“How much is it?” Luo Feng asked.
“Fifty million Primordial Crystals per piece,” the attendant grinned and quoted a number that made Luo Feng’s heart tremble.
“It’s more expensive than many innate secret treasures,” Luo Feng couldn’t help but say. “Even many complete God Emperor-level secret treasures only cost a few million Primordial Crystals. This price could buy an entire set of them.”
The servant smiled. “Those powerful God Emperors often have ‘world-level Primordial Lifeform remains.’ They gain insights from those remains and inscribe them into the Formless Divine Armament to verify their understanding. It’s not something a set of complete God Emperor-level treasures can compare to.”
Luo Feng silently sighed.
Too many temptations.
There were auxiliary rare wonders suitable for life, destruction, or even the combination of life and death, as well as many appropriate secret treasures—Luo Feng saw plenty! But he was just too poor.
“No rush. The first day, I’ll just explore Rainlan City. I’ll buy things on the second day.” Luo Feng was very patient—one day wouldn’t make a difference.
He also noticed that secret treasures like the ‘Formless Divine Armament’ and ‘Illusory Realm Labyrinth,’ which were well-known, had standardized prices across many merchants. But for remains, prices varied among shops—some were even willing to sell at lower rates.
Luo Feng had to consider how to obtain cultivation items suitable for himself at the lowest cost.
“Poor, so poor.”
“Forget 100,000 Primordial Crystals. Even one hundred million wouldn’t be enough.”
While flying through Rainlan City, Luo Feng saw numerous other cultivators around him. But he failed to notice a short figure in the distance.
That short figure spotted Luo Feng from afar and chuckled.
“Luo Feng? A newcomer at the early stage of God Emperor?” With a thought, the short figure made a move.
…
Luo Feng flew through the inner city airspace. The inner city was teeming with hidden dragons and crouching tigers—there were hundreds of Elders maintaining Rainlan City’s defense system. The constant activation of various defense arrays made Luo Feng feel pressure.
“Buzz.” It was as if a gust of wind brushed past him.
“What was that?” Luo Feng was startled.
It felt like wind.
Yet Luo Feng vaguely sensed something was off.
“It felt like someone made a move on me… but maybe not.” Even he wasn’t certain. He furrowed his brows and looked around more vigilantly.
…
From afar, the short figure was rather surprised. “This newcomer doesn’t seem like a traditional Seeker. He feels more like a low-rank Primordial Lifeform. Has he cultivated his body into a World Body and hides all his treasures within it?”
Primordial Bloodline cultivators might have more explosive power and stronger physical bodies, but their internal control wasn’t always perfect.
Yet Luo Feng’s body felt like a vast, complete world. Even with his hidden secret techniques sweeping over Luo Feng’s body, the short figure couldn’t forcefully penetrate a whole world.
“Think hiding them in a world means I’m helpless?” the short figure sneered and opened his mouth. A blood-colored insect flew out.
“Good treasure. Go into his world and take everything.”
With a thought, the short figure commanded the blood-colored insect and struck again.
Sneaky theft had failed.
Then it would be—forced theft!
“Whoosh.”
The blood-colored insect instantly vanished, ignoring Luo Feng’s physical body and boring directly into his inner world.
“Hm?”
In midair, Luo Feng, who had remained vigilant, immediately sensed it.
Back in his homeland, the Origin Continent, he had cultivated nine types of Primordial Bloodline Lifeform Forms and selected five of them! These five were the forms he brought into the Jiugang Holy Realm to handle various dangers.
The form he maintained outwardly in his default state was the ‘World Form.’
This form had tough skin, immense strength, incredible vitality, and could withstand many harsh conditions. This form housed an internal world—most similar to the ‘World Life Form’ lineage. The more energy it held, the stronger its power.
Thus, the World Form possessed a hundred times the energy reserve of a Perfect Divine Body. The other four forms, however, had much lower energy stores.
“Zzt!” An invisible fluctuation entered his inner world—and the world naturally sensed it.
The stronger the World Form, the more stable the inner world. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
“Quite sturdy. Unfortunately, my treasure excels at gnawing through space.” The blood-colored insect burst with fluctuations, sweeping across the entire inner world, attempting to seize all treasures within.
Inside the inner world, four other forms of Luo Feng sat cross-legged. Each looked like him, but wore different colored robes.
“Hmph.” The Heaven-and-Earth Form snorted coldly and instantly dispersed, merging completely with the inner world.
Unity with Heaven and Earth!
The world membrane became as if it were the skin of the Heaven-and-Earth Form. Its profound mysteries fused perfectly with the inner world, and its power surged.
“This…” The blood-colored insect felt the inner world, already terrifying, suddenly become ten times more oppressive and constraining. Previously, it was like swimming through water—now, it was like being submerged in glue, completely stuck.
“His inner world… has no treasure?” The insect unleashed its secret arts to scan the entire world—but it was a fruitless search.
“Trying to steal?” The remaining three forms in the inner world all turned to face it.
The five thousand Primordial Crystals were held by the Time Form! That form existed simultaneously in the past, present, and future—and the five thousand Primordial Crystals were stored on its future self.
“My five thousand Primordial Crystals are hidden in the inner world, safeguarded by the Time Form. And specifically stored on the Time Form’s ‘future self.’ The inner world is also guarded by the Heaven-and-Earth Form. If even then they get stolen, I’ve got nothing to say—I'll count it as tuition,” Luo Feng had been forewarned and was naturally cautious.
“Who said he was a traditional Seeker?” The blood-colored insect, sensing danger, instantly attempted to vanish.
Bang!
It slammed into the world membrane—only to find it couldn’t get out.
Once the inner world had merged with the Heaven-and-Earth Form, its membrane became over ten times more durable.
“Damn it. I got in—but I can’t get out!” The blood-colored insect immediately realized how bad the situation was.
