Chapter 2246: Chapter 2241: Swapped

Hua Jin understood very well, but he couldn’t accept Hei Mei.

They were two very different people, and the one he loved was Yuan Yunong, not Hei Mei.

He treated Hei Mei like a family member.

Gradually, Hei Mei also understood that there was someone in his heart, but she didn’t have the courage to ask.

Because she couldn’t accept that the man she loved had someone else in his heart.

It must have been inevitable; that person arrived before she did.

So, she wisely didn’t ask.

Many years later, Hua Jin finally had the opportunity to return home, and the first thing he did was to go find Yuan Yunong.

Unfortunately, Yuan Yunong was already married, and her married life was not happy.

At that time, she was seriously ill, a delicate flower lying on her sickbed, barely clinging to life.

He saw her for the last time, and she said she wanted to marry him in the next life.

Hua Jin said he was afraid he wouldn’t find Yuan Yunong; the world was so vast, amidst the sea of people, who knows when and where they would meet again in the next life.

He didn’t want her to die; he wanted her to live, and as long as she lived, he was willing to take care of her for the rest of his life.

Yuan Yunong said, "In the next life, I will still look the same! Don’t forget about me; you must come see me again!"

But, before the next life could arrive, Hua Jin found An Hao, and he felt this was the comfort Yuan Yunong had given him.

The story ended, and Hua Jin’s eyes were already red.

An Hao sighed with emotion after hearing it, her arm accidentally knocked the coffee spoon off the table.

Coincidentally, the coffee spoon fell next to Hua Jin’s foot.

"Could you please pick that up for me..."

As soon as An Hao finished speaking, Hua Jin bent down to pick up the coffee spoon for her. Taking this chance, An Hao swiftly swapped the cups of coffee in front of them.

Though Hua Jin’s past deserved sympathy, this love story sounded so tragic.

No matter how soft-hearted An Hao was, she couldn’t possibly be kind to someone who had kidnapped his son.

Hua Jin picked up the coffee spoon, washed it clean in the restroom, and placed it back in front of An Hao.

"So, after hearing my story, what are your thoughts?" Hua Jin asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

"It’s both sympathetic and regrettable!" An Hao said truthfully.

"Will you come with me?" Hua Jin asked.

"No." An Hao turned her face away.

Hua Jin suddenly stood up and approached An Hao, leaning down towards her.

"What are you doing?" An Hao’s heart raced with alarm.

"I want to kiss you!"

"No!" An Hao refused immediately, turning her head away, unwilling to look at him.

"So, what about those blushes of shyness on your face earlier? Were they just for show? I take them seriously!"

As Hua Jin spoke, he quickly switched back the cups of coffee that An Hao had swapped.

Only An Hao didn’t notice.

"Please keep your distance from me!" An Hao said angrily, "I hope you can remain a beautiful image in my heart! Please don’t do something that would make me hold a grudge against you for life!"

"Alright!" Hua Jin agreed readily, straightening up and taking away the coffee in front of An Hao, "The coffee’s cold, let me add some hot water for you!"

"No need!" An Hao was a step too late. Not only did he refill the water in her coffee, but he also added another scoop of coffee grounds and a square of sugar.

"It tastes much better this way!" Hua Jin pushed the coffee back towards An Hao.
