Sweet Revenge With My Billionaire Vampire-Chapter 46: Tresspassing
Stepping into the hallway, Adeline let go of Enzo’s wrist and turned to face him. "So... what now?" she asked.
Enzo laughed, pinching the bridge of his nose with mock exasperation. "The way you just dragged me out of there, I thought you had a plan or something."
Adeline suddenly raised her foot and kicked his leg lightly. "Of course not, you idiot."
Enzo didn’t flinch at the impact, smirking as he said, "Ouch." Then, shrugging, he added, "Anyway, we’ll figure something out."
She held up the packet to her face, turning it over. "What if this is just some harmless stuff Grandma likes to use in her tea?" she muttered, almost to herself.
Enzo stepped closer, gently placing his hand atop her head and applying slight pressure, tilting her face upwards so their eyes were locked in an unbroken stare. "There were at least fifty of these packets hidden in that cabinet, Adeline. Doesn’t that seem even a little suspicious to you?"
"If it was harmless, whoever hid it there wouldn’t have had a reason to. Aren’t you even a tiny bit curious to find out what this really is?" His voice dropped to a low murmur that was still loud enough for her to hear, and he added, "Plus, I’m bored as hell around here. Might as well do something interesting,"
With a shake of her head, she forcefully brushed his hand away. A few stray strands of her hair fell over her eyes, and she frowned, blowing it aside with a quick puff of air. "Fine. But what are we supposed to do? We don’t even have Miranda’s address. How the hell are we supposed to find her? It’s impossible." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"We didn’t ask the cook for her address, though. What if she knows?" Enzo said.
Adeline groaned, smacking her forehead with her palm. "The head cook was the one who told us to meet Miranda because she might know something about this," she said, waving the packet in his face. "If she knew her address, don’t you think she would’ve told us, dumbass?"
Enzo chuckled at the insult, shrugging as he began stepping backward with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Still, we didn’t ask. It wouldn’t hurt to double-check, would it? Wait here, I’ll be right back." With that, he spun around and strode back toward the kitchen.
Adeline crossed her arms and leaned against the hallway’s wall, tapping her foot impatiently.
Less than a minute later, Enzo reappeared with a smug smile on his face, waving a small slip of paper in his hand. He stopped in front of her, slipping the paper between his fingers and holding it just in front of her face. He bent closer, his lips near grazing her ear as he whispered, "Turns out, she did know the address... dumbass."
Surprised, she quickly snatched the paper out of his grip, scanning the text before handing it back to him with a dismissive wave. "Whatever. Let’s just go," she muttered, her cheeks flushing slightly with embarrassment.

The Rolls Royce came to a stop in front of a small house. Its white paint was faded, and the porch looked like it had seen better days. Adeline and Enzo stepped out of the car and headed towards it.
Stopping in the pathway, her gaze fixated on the structure before her with a look of skepticism. "Is this it?" she asked Enzo, who was standing behind her.
He unfolded the slip of paper, double-checking the address written there before glancing at the small, rusted number on a stand near the house. He nodded. "According to the address, yes."
Adeline tilted her head to the side, studying the house with a skeptical look on her face. "Well....Let’s go see, then."
They made their way up the pathway and stepped onto the front porch. She raised her hand to knock on the door, but before her knuckles could connect with the wood, Enzo reached past her and pressed a small, worn doorbell, and a loud chime echoed inside the house.
Adeline froze, her hand still hanging in the air as she stared at the button Enzo had just pressed.
Enzo gave her a brief, smug smile. "There’s a doorbell."
"I knew that," she said with a scoff, turning her head to glare at him.
"Sure,"
They waited in silence, the seconds stretching into what felt like minutes. There was no sign of movement or any sound coming from within the house.
She extended her arm impatiently and pressed the doorbell, holding it down a bit longer this time. Again, they waited, but no one came to the door.
Her brows knitted together as she looked up at Enzo. "Is she not home?"
Enzo turned, glancing around the quiet street. "Either that, or she’s pretending not to be." He stepped off the porch and peered through one of the side windows, cupping his hands around his face to block the glare. "The curtains are drawn, but I don’t see any movement inside."
Frustrated, she pressed her head against the door and peered through the peephole, squinting even though she could barely see anything. "Hello? Is anyone home?"
Getting no reply, she sighed. "This is useless," she muttered, already turning around. "Come on, let’s just go—"
She froze mid-step, her eyes scanning the empty porch. Enzo, who was just standing near her, was gone.
"What the fuck..." she whispered, her eyes darting around. Her head snapped to the right, checking the street. Turning left, her eyes landed on a tall figure moving around the side of the house.
"Enzo!" she called, hurrying after him.
By the time she reached the side of the building, she saw Enzo climbing over a small wooden fence, landing in the backyard.
He straightened his tie before opening the door attached to the fence and gestured for her to follow with a calm expression, as if they weren’t blatantly trespassing.
"What the hell are you doing?" Adeline muttered under her breath. She hesitated, glancing around nervously, but Enzo gestured again, this time impatiently, and with a reluctant nod, she followed him.
The morning air felt colder in the backyard. When she stepped inside through the open door, she shivered as a gust of wind hit her. Wrapping her arms around herself, she said to Enzo, "You do realize we’re trespassing, right? Like... this is literally illegal. If we get caught, we’re in so much trouble."
