Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 369: Attitude
Moira Young was just about to say something more when she heard the doorbell ring. She couldn’t imagine who would be visiting her at this time. As she tidied her bun, she hung up on Joe.
"Awake?" Aiden Webb scanned the person who opened the door for him, noting that she looked well.
Moira Young was a bit surprised and couldn’t figure out why Aiden Webb would come to visit her, but she invited him in with a smile. "Yes, senior, what brings you here? Would you like something to drink? But I probably only have water."
Saying this, she didn’t pay attention to the man’s reaction behind her as she turned to the small living room to pour Aiden Webb a glass of water.
Looking at the woman busily at ease with a stern face, the anger in Aiden Webb’s heart burned even more fiercely. Why did he come here? She didn’t even consider what she had done. Could it really put one’s mind at ease? Drink water, he was already full of anger, who would drink in this state?
"Where did you go last night, and with whom?"
Holding the teacup, seeing Aiden Webb’s cold face, and hearing him ask about last night, Moira Young bit her lip, placed the cup on the coffee table, and sat down on a nearby sofa.
Seeing the woman across from him lower her face and not offer a single word of defense, Aiden Webb clenched his jaw, veins visible on his arms.
"Did you know there are people worried about you? Why lie?"
After a pause, he continued, "Do you think that just because you’re a star, no one dares to lay a hand on you, huh?"
"No, I..." Moira Young opened her mouth, speaking in a faint, breathy voice.
"No, huh? Then what are you doing? Are you familiar with Vesperia? Is this your home country? You, a girl, bold enough to go out drinking by yourself, Moira Young, you’re really something, aren’t you?"
This was the first time Aiden Webb had been so angry, likely also the first time in his life he had said so many words in one breath. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
He was truly driven to near madness by Moira Young’s actions.
Not caring about Moira Young’s nervous fidgeting under the reprimand, Aiden Webb continued with a stern face, "What do you expect would happen if something happened to you? No one would know where you are, then how would you expect me to..."
In his anger, he realized what he was about to say and quickly stopped himself, still looking at the person on the sofa with a face full of anger.
Moira Young smiled bitterly, not daring to lift her head. How had she driven someone who normally wouldn’t waste a word on things like this to such an intense state?
Yet as she listened to Aiden Webb’s words, a sense of sadness rose in her heart. What virtues did she have to deserve someone like Aiden Webb’s care and attention?
She blinked hard, swallowing back the urge to cry, and carefully lifted her head. "Senior, are you tired? Why don’t you sit down?"
Seeing that he wasn’t acknowledging her, she got up and gently tugged Aiden Webb’s sleeve, not minding the anger on his face, sweetly smiled, and guided him to the opposite sofa.
"I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I know I was wrong, I made everyone worried." As she spoke, she clasped her hands together, smiled apologetically, and sincerely returned to her own sofa, lightly poking Aiden Webb’s arm resting on the small table surface. "Please don’t be angry anymore, okay? I promise this will never happen again, I’ve realized my mistake."
Aiden Webb saw Moira Young acting cute, and the anger in his heart lessened a bit. "In the future?"
"No, no, no future. If I want to go out, I’ll definitely tell Joe and the others. If I want to go out alone to have fun, I’ll absolutely ask you to accompany me." With that, Moira Young busily waved her hand.
Aiden Webb nodded, his expression finally relaxing.
Moira Young had been quietly observing the man’s expression. Seeing that her method worked, she quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Not feeling well?" Aiden Webb changed the subject, remembering what Joe said in the morning, having been too angry to remember it earlier.
"Joe mentioned it," Moira Young smiled and waved her hand. "It’s alright. A good sleep did me wonders; I’m fine now."
She lightly coughed twice, smiling cheekily at Aiden Webb.
Amused, his gaze softened, Aiden Webb continued, "I’ll take you out to eat."
"Great, great! I’m really hungry too."
Seeing Moira Young acting cute and patting her small belly, Aiden Webb’s fingers moved, and he ruffled the small bun she had just tied. After she grimaced in mock annoyance, the two finally headed out for a meal.
"Aren’t we eating at the hotel?" Seeing Aiden Webb nod, Moira Young smiled and said, "Then you’ll have to take me somewhere great to eat."
Aiden Webb got in the car, waited for Moira Young to fasten her seatbelt, then nodded and drove her out.
Taking his dear sister out for a meal, it had to be the best.
Moira Young looked at the architectural style combining East and West in front of her, vast yet serene, unexpected to find such a place in the streets of Vesperia. It seemed following Aiden Webb was indeed the right choice.
Receiving the menu from the server, Moira Young asked Aiden Webb what he wanted to eat while ordering her favorites: "OK, Thank
you."
After the server left, Aiden Webb sipped his water, still unable to let it go, after a while, he spoke up: "Last night, where did you go? Did something happen?"
Moira Young’s expression changed slightly, a bit uneasy, and she lowered her head in silence.
She couldn’t bring herself to tell Aiden Webb, nor did she want to.
After a while, she lightly pulled the corners of her lips and dimly said, "Senior, I’m sorry, could we not talk about it?"
After speaking, a hint of bitterness appeared at the corner of her mouth.
Aiden Webb’s face darkened. After a few seconds, he turned his gaze out of the glass window, feeling a faint ache in his heart, and didn’t press the slightly tearful Moira Young further.
The dishes were served, and the two ate in silence.
Moira Young quietly glanced at the man opposite her, thinking he was just trying to care for her and even took her out to eat such good food. She felt guilty and was about to say something to lighten the mood with a playful smile.
Aiden Webb noticed that the person opposite suddenly froze, stopped his actions, and was about to turn to look when he heard Moira Young speaking to him with a slightly panicked tone.
"Senior, I, I need to use the restroom."
Before he could say anything, Moira Young got up and quickly ran out of sight.
Watching her run off, Aiden Webb’s face darkened. Julian Sinclair? After briefly considering, he called a server and gave a few instructions before getting up to follow.
Leaning against the hallway wall, Moira Young felt a bit anxious. She thought she’d seen things, but it really was Julian Sinclair. Why was he here? Who was he with? Would he...
"What are you doing here?" A cold voice interrupted her frantic thoughts.
Moira Young lifted her head, looking at Julian Sinclair standing there calmly and indifferently, and felt a dull pain in her heart.
"Is there something you need?" Julian Sinclair asked coldly, face expressionless.
Moira Young opened her mouth, but looking at the man’s aloof expression, ultimately, she left what she wanted to ask unspoken.
"Julian Sinclair, what’s with your attitude?" As Aiden Webb, who had just arrived, witnessed the scene, he was too frustrated and directly stepped up to grab Julian Sinclair by the collar, dragging him out of a side door.
