Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 385: Robbery
Watching the strange reactions of the two people, Moira Young felt a bit puzzled, glancing at one and then the other, before finally letting it go.
Aiden Webb hadn’t ordered much, but everything was nutritious; he had to maintain his physique and spent time at the gym every day.
"I’m going to the restroom." Aiden suddenly stood up from his seat, casting a cold gaze at Carter Porter.
The way Aiden looked at him made Carter shiver, but he quickly understood, suddenly standing up: "Uh, I’ll go to the bathroom too."
Moira Young glanced at them, finding Aiden a bit odd, and Carter’s behavior seemed somewhat unusual as well. The two left one after the other, heading towards the restroom.
Watching their leaving backs, Moira Young rested her chin and pondered: "These two definitely have something suspicious going on, something’s not right."
But Melody was eating her salad and shook her head: "I don’t think anything’s up, he’s always like that. Besides, they’re guys, let them handle their business. Come, drink."
The wine glasses were already empty, yet the two hadn’t returned.
Little did they know, the restroom was filled with fiery tension.
Aiden seriously adjusted his tie, his gaze growing sharper: "I hope you can keep this a secret."
"Are you really the Winslow family’s eldest son?" He couldn’t quite believe it after saying this.
Aiden nodded, returning to his usual mature and steady demeanor: "Yes."
After getting his answer, Carter finally breathed a sigh of relief: "No wonder you seemed familiar to me, turns out you’re..."
But he hadn’t finished his sentence when the man was already in front of him, staring as if he were prey: "Keep this a secret, or you know the consequences."
Those eerie words made Carter get goosebumps all over, feeling chilling winds on his back.
He shivered and nodded quickly, realizing this man was truly unfathomable.
With a slight nod towards Carter, Aiden strode out of the restroom. Carter was left alone, observing his departing back, lost in thought.
Meanwhile, Moira Young and the others had almost finished eating. Seeing Aiden return, she complained: "Why are you back so late? Where’s Carter?"
He didn’t say anything, just finished the wine in his glass: "Hmph."
Fine, Moira Young sighed and gave up. She knew she wouldn’t get any answers from Aiden.
When Carter returned, he seemed uneasy. Aiden’s gaze fixed on him, and he shook his head, indicating he wouldn’t spill the secret.
The meal was rather torturous, so when they left, Moira Young was still puzzled, even asking Carter what had happened.
Carter, of course, couldn’t say, especially with Aiden watching from behind, knowing that if he leaked even half a word...
As they left, the two women walked ahead, while Carter and Aiden mumbled behind them.
"You’re not falling for Moira Young, are you?" Carter’s eyes were filled with gossip.
Aiden ignored him completely, just stared at the two women leaving in front.
Realizing he wouldn’t get an answer, Carter sighed and swore confidently: "Don’t worry, I won’t say a word about what I learned today."
Only then did Aiden slightly nod and ask: "Do you want to ride in my car back?"
This question seemed to be directed at Moira Young, who paused a moment but felt shy.
"Let’s go."
After saying this, he opened the door for Moira Young. Since things had come to this, Moira Young had no choice but to get in.
Watching them drive away, Carter felt the man was indeed aloof.
Though he said that, he still compared him to the leads, and truthfully, the man wasn’t bad at all, just deliberately strange.
Unfortunately for Heath Sterling, if he were to compare with those two, he was indeed lacking.
By now, Melody was already drunk, slumped in Carter’s arms like a pile of softness, ignoring whatever he said.
"Why did you drink so much? In the end, I’m the one taking you back." After sighing, he held Melody tightly.
Flagging down a taxi, he left, while Melody babbled drunken nonsense.
Carter certainly felt deeply concerned.
Meanwhile, Moira Young wasn’t so relaxed, sitting beside this frozen mountain man, even the air felt chilly.
Evening approached, but luckily there were no scenes to shoot this afternoon, and she had already informed the director by phone.
"Still woozy? Want to get out for a walk? Clear your head?" He suggested the driver pull over.
Moira Young was puzzled by his words until she saw him opening the door.
Though dusk was falling, the street lights were gradually lighting up. The night view here was picturesque, perhaps he wanted to walk back.
Actually, this wasn’t a bad idea. Moira casually flicked her hair, slowly stepping out.
Walking beside her, she couldn’t resist teasing: "Honestly, it’s rare you can be this sentimental, accompanying me on a walk no less."
Aiden kept his face stern, silent, even he didn’t know why he was doing this.
Against the wind on the arch bridge, Moira felt a chill breeze on her cheeks, soothingly refreshing, she let out a breath: "We rarely have this relaxation, always cooped up at the set, in the studio."
After eating, she opened her arms wide to embrace the wind, feeling utterly carefree.
But just as Moira Young relaxed, an incongruous voice rang out: "Help, a thief!"
Startled, Moira Young tensed up again, watching a man running from afar.
"Daylight robbery now?" Moira hadn’t finished speaking before Aiden had already left her side.
Though the thief ran quickly, Aiden’s speed was no less.
Behind was clearly a lady nearing her thirties, gasping for air.
"Stop..." She spoke breathlessly, already on the verge of collapse.
But within a minute, Moira and the lady were jogging behind, only seeing Aiden hand the wallet back to the lady.
