Chapter 427: Chapter 421: The Capitalist

Months passed without any sign, the abdomen showed no changes, unlike Salovis with a slightly rounded belly; both Tassera, Cecilia, and Fiora were somewhat anxious.

The issue wasn’t scarcity; the issue was inequality. Thankfully, none of them showed any signs, so they were all on the same starting line.

Leon didn’t mind and traveled daily to the Forging Workshop, focusing on his grand sword-forging endeavor.

Aside from that Divine Sword, Leon also had six Fine Gold Greatswords, finally all remade and upgraded from extremely rare to legendary, each imbued with fire, frost, lightning, psychic, dark erosion, and radiant damage.

Leon tried activating the Three-headed Six-armed Dharma Body, each hand holding a sword with blazing fierce flames, emanating bone-chilling frost, entwined with lively lightning, dripping in eerie purple light... Handsomely admiring himself in front of the mirror for over half an hour.

Preparing for pregnancy aside, work should not be delayed, isn’t it unreasonable to take maternity leave before even getting pregnant? Cecilia continued her work, and under her guidance, Laksha spent half a year successfully establishing a mine using the Undead Black Scripture.

The mine smoothly went into operation, and as the project’s initiator, Leon naturally had to personally inspect this epoch-making Undead Mine.

First, Kobold skeletons carried explosives from the powder factory to blast through the solid rock layers. Then the skeletal miners with pickaxes conducted the excavation, among them several Minotaur skeletons and Ogre skeletons. Zombie transport teams then delivered the ores, and finally, the relatively powerful Wights supervised, possessing consciousness and serving the master who transformed them...

As a perceptive Transcender, Leon observed for only a few minutes and sharply identified several areas for optimization.

"I have a few suggestions for improvement." Leon crossed his arms, his gaze sweeping over the busy Undead miners.

"We should systematically categorize the skeletons and zombies, assigning tasks according to their characteristics, such as Ogres responsible for heavy labor, while Goblin skeletons are better suited for delicate tasks."

"Next, even though it’s an Undead Mine, we shouldn’t restrict ourselves to Undead creatures. We can hire Kobolds and Dwarves, skilled in prospecting, as technical advisors at high pay... including other tasks."

"To do a good job, one must first sharpen their tools. We can custom-make tools suitable for Undead creatures."

Leon talked at length, then turned to Laksha, who wore a black dress, and asked, "Did you get all that down?"

"Got it." Laksha closed the notebook, secretly muttering about the strange business culture of the Zhen Dan Kingdom, not understanding why meetings always required a notebook for taking notes, the same when following the leader for inspections.

Upon learning Leon would inspect the Undead Mine, Isily the diplomat insisted on accompanying him—even though it had nothing to do with her duties. She merely wanted to see what evil the Black Dragon was up to and try to persuade Leon.

Isily always opposed the Undead Mine, and taking advantage of Laksha’s temporary absence, she whispered, "Don’t you think it’s eerie and terrifying here?"

"It’s alright." Leon shrugged.

"This is an act of desecrating life." Isily anxiously scanned the surroundings. "Watch out for those overly rigid paladins causing trouble for you."

"You don’t think I’m afraid of those paladins, do you?" Leon sneered disdainfully.

"The paladins aren’t scary, but how about the gods backing them?" Isily retorted. "You’re not yet strong enough to disregard the gods, are you?"

"This is the Material Plane; it’s not easy for those gods to descend." Leon pondered, wondering if defeating a god came with a Golden Finger reward.

"Besides, I’m merely employing Undead creatures for work, not awakening an Undead plague to wreak havoc or do anything inhumane," Leon continued. "Why don’t those justice-overloaded paladins and gods go after Death Tyrants, Death Knights, and Witch Demons? Is it because I’m easy to bully?"

Isily opened her mouth, speechless for a moment.

"The mine’s established; the next step is to build a steel plant and forging factory next to it," Leon self-planned aloud.

"Fire Giants and Salamanders can forge fine equipment to sell for money... need to contact Bell to see if we can sell arms to Aphnas," Leon mused. "The low-grade skeletons and zombies just need to do some simple ironwork to produce low-quality agricultural tools—shouldn’t be too difficult."

"Although the quality is poor, they’re cheap. Selling to those poor farmers can improve labor efficiency and increase food production, saving a bit of money for consumption every year." Leon said, "If they have no money to spend, how can I collect taxes and develop real estate?"

Isily listened nearby, utterly confused, unable to figure out what Leon intended, as exploiting Undead creatures was undoubtedly evil, yet using Undead for production could benefit the living, so perhaps he counted as a good person after all.

As Leon spoke, he suddenly noticed Isily giving him a strange look and asked, "What does that look mean?"

"I solemnly assure you that this mine will continue to operate indefinitely." Leon nodded, "But I can promise you, even if employees are accidentally lost during mining, I won’t kill the living to replenish the workforce... After all, the value living people create is far greater than that of Undead creatures."

Isily pursed her lips, feeling discouraged, and said, "I really can’t figure out... Are you doing good or bad, are you evil or kind?"

Leon patted the silver-haired girl’s head with a meaningful smile and said, "I’m just an ordinary capitalist."

Isily slanted her head slowly.

It again brought up the three dragons who couldn’t successfully get pregnant.

Fiora believed she was stronger than both Tassera and Cecilia, with the most enduring stamina, sure she could take the lead.

Cecilia still adhered to her little techniques.

Tassera flipped through classical texts daily, faintly finding some clues, sorting out the materials.

A male dragon can fertilize eggs starting from the young dragon stage until the Ancient Dragon stage and still reproduce.

A female dragon can lay eggs starting from the young dragon stage until the very old stage, ovulating triggered by mating, with mating and egg-laying able to occur in nearly any season of the year, willing to lay one clutch per year, each clutch containing two to five eggs.

...

Tassera confirmed that the problem wasn’t with her. Even though she was a Storage Dragon, she was just an ordinary Blue Dragon, and the variable had to be with Leon because Leon had transcended beyond a Mortal world’s creatures.

In such a case, it’s said that powerful Divine beings often struggle to reproduce; to reproduce, both genders’ powers must not be too distantly apart—like a towering tree finding it hard to take root and grow in barren soil.

The issue was identified, but how to solve the problem?
