Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon's Might-Chapter 460 - 452: Unable to Distinguish Between the Big Joker and the Little Joker
Chapter 460: Chapter 452: Unable to Distinguish Between the Big Joker and the Little Joker
"How long has it been since we walked side by side like this?" Tassera adjusted her slightly curly long hair to prevent it from getting tousled by the suddenly rising sea breeze.
Leon looked at the leaves blown by the sea breeze, swept away by the waves, and leaned against the iron railing by the roadside. After recalling for a moment, he said, "It’s been a while, hasn’t it."
"You spend more time shopping with Isily than with me." Tassera stopped suddenly.
"It’s not that I shop with her; I just happen to run into her while I’m shopping," Leon said, holding his ground. "You’re aware that she’s just a street swiper, hanging around Watchtower Port more often than anyone else... Silver Dragons really do love living in towns."
"But Watchtower Port is so big, why do you run into her every time you shop?" Tassera gazed at Leon with a knowing look that seemed to see right through him, "Either you have a problem, or she does."
"Then she definitely has a problem," Leon said without hesitation, "Right now, I’m shopping with you; why do you always talk about other unrelated women. Do you know that I’m really unhappy now."
"You’re even annoyed..." Tassera laughed, her eyes full of mischief, then she hugged Leon’s arm, her gaze caught by a merchandise display in a shop window nearby, "Look at that pocket watch, it’s so beautiful and exquisite."
"And then?" Leon asked calmly.
Tassera glanced at Leon, "Buy it for me."
"No wonder you suddenly brought up Isily, going in circles just waiting for me here," Leon said amusingly. He checked the price, less than ten Gold Coins. Quite a sum for ordinary people, insignificant for him.
"See through without saying," Tassera reminded him, as a Storage Dragon she wasn’t much into money, stingy by nature, purely enjoying the way Leon spent money on her.
"Let’s go inside and take a look," Leon pulled Tassera’s hand, pushed open the carved wooden shop door, revealing shelves lined with a dazzling array of goods, a feast for the eyes.
Leon bought the pocket watch for Tassera and also picked up a rather expensive music box as a present for Sharon... not sure if his daughter would like it, he just knew he did. They then passed by a clothing store where he bought Tassera a wide-brimmed bonnet hat and several skirts with whalebone supports.
At this moment, the two were sitting side by side on a long bench covered with jacaranda blossoms.
Leon half-leaned against the bench, casually used the Sleeve of the Universe to take out a strip of jerky, tore it into strands to feed the seagulls, attracting flocks to circle around.
A seagull audaciously tried to snatch food from Leon, who caught it and pulled out the longest flight feather from its wing. Playing with the feather, Leon glanced at Tassera, lying undisturbed on her lap, only able to see part of the sky, proving her extraordinary confidence.
"What are you suddenly doing?" Tassera asked.
"So tired." Leon snuggled up.
"Are you really tired now?" Tassera gently stroked Leon’s hair.
Leon simply smiled, thinking with his current strength he’d hardly ever feel tired anymore, mostly unwilling to exert effort, like those young guys doing nothing all day yet claiming exhaustion after doing anything.
"Ah, you... speaking of which you specifically took your daughter out for studies, planning to nurture her, and eventually hand over the Zhen Dan Kingdom to her, becoming a hands-off manager, right." Tassera cupped Leon’s face.
"With such a kingdom handed to your daughter, what else could you be dissatisfied with?" Leon had considered having more children with Cecilia and Fiora, but that was a matter for another time. With Zhen Dan Kingdom given to Tassera’s child, he still had other things to offer to the children of Cecilia and Fiora.
"I’m not dissatisfied." Tassera’s fingertips grazed Leon’s brow, the daughter no doubt important, but her partner ultimately being the man presently resting on her lap. "I just want to ask, what do you plan to do then, spending your days like now lying around?"
"By then, I’ll definitely wander around." Leon said, "Tour this realm and that realm."
"Let’s travel together then," Tassera said, "I’ve already learned Star Realm Projection."
"Karsus Crown is truly amazing." Leon couldn’t help but admire.
"Can’t it be that I’m amazing?" Tassera drew her brow, reluctant to admit the Karsus Crown’s help, relying on it entirely for her standing today.
"Alright, alright, you’re amazing," Leon pondered for a moment, "Even if our daughter is a Nether Dragon, it would be a long time... until she becomes an Adult Dragon, or even a Mature Dragon, stronger than anyone, only then might I truly hand over the Zhen Dan Kingdom to her."
...
...
In this world, some poor children learn to fend for themselves early, while some college students remain naive, with a clear stupidity reflected in their eyes.
Unlike those young dragons who are driven away by their parents early, Sharon, who was raised as a little princess held in the palms of her parents’ hands, is temporarily uninterested in power, with her heart and eyes set on building a giant sandcastle.
For an ordinary girl, building a sandcastle would take quite a bit of effort, but it didn’t stop Sharon, whose true form is a dragon, from constructing a huge sandcastle in no time, complete with a moat, walls, arrow towers, and a fort. She even placed a shell she specially picked up on the tip of the fort’s tower, making it look quite impressive.
"Hey, what are you playing?"
Sharon was busy carving details into the sandcastle when she suddenly heard a rude, arrogant voice coming from behind her. Turning her head, she saw a human noble boy wearing a silk shirt, the pearl pin at his collar glinting painfully in the sunlight.
Sharon had no interest in making friends with humans, not even wanting to say an extra word.
The noble boy was left hanging, feeling humiliated, his pale face turning red as he said, "Do you know who I am? I’m the son of Earl Carlson."
"Wow, you’re amazing," Sharon replied dismissively, "so can you leave now?"
"What’s your name?" the noble boy asked.
"Can’t you see I’m busy?" Sharon stopped and frowned slightly, getting a bit angry, "Don’t bother me again, or don’t blame me for being rude."
Sharon’s temper was more like Tassera; he didn’t want to cause trouble but couldn’t stop the noble boy from pestering him.
"If I want, I can have my father arrest you right now."
"I asked what your name is, are you deaf?"
"Your sandcastle is so ugly, let me decorate it for you. Haha."
"You’re so cute, come with me and be my maid."
The noble boy not only messed up her sandcastle’s arrow tower and kicked down the walls but even tried to reach out and touch her face. Sharon couldn’t hold back any longer and slapped the boy’s hand away, then pushed him down even though he was a head taller than her.
"What a bad day, running into an idiot like you!"
"The world is so messed up because there are so many foolish, dissolute nobles like you!"
Disturbed from her sandcastle-building mood, Sharon was determined to teach the noble boy a lesson. She walked up to him, grabbed his leg, swung him around, and threw him onto the sandcastle, immediately knocking it down and burying the noble boy under the sand.
The noble boy struggled in the sand under Sharon’s foot.
A son of an Earl naturally doesn’t lack guards, and soon a burly guard ran over to rescue his young master, checking for injuries, glaring angrily at Sharon, and said, "Who are you, do you know what you just did?"
The noble boy finally spat out the sand and screamed in a rage, "Catch her! Catch her for me! I’ll make her pay!"
"I gave you guys a chance." Sharon narrowed her eyes slightly, a cold smile curling at her lips. In front of Leon and Tassera, she’s obedient and sensible, but that doesn’t mean she’s the same in front of others. After all, she is a mixed-blood evil dragon born of a Red Dragon and a Blue Dragon.
A creature like an evil dragon, even in its young stage... a young Blue Dragon might play deadly pranks on civilians in its territory. A group of hobgoblins might be thrown into chaos because a young Red Dragon incited an ambitious warlord to start a coup just to obtain tribute.
From this perspective, Leon shouldn’t worry about Sharon encountering danger, but should worry that if no one is watching her, she’ll cause destruction everywhere.
"You die first." Sharon raised her hand, lifting a finger. A series of Arcane Missiles shot out like arrows from a bow, piercing through the noble boy’s chest, leaving him no time to scream as a huge bloody hole blasted through his chest, causing him to fall straight to the sand, then she turned to the guard.
The guard, a soldier retired from long-term service, had some skill. Sharon’s Arcane Missiles didn’t kill him instantly, merely reduced him to a bloody mess, crashing heavily to the ground, barely alive.
The noble boy died, the guard seriously injured and howling, which did not affect Sharon’s enjoyment of playing with sand nearby.
As a dragon, Sharon never regarded humans as her kind. Although Leon’s education prevented her from seeing human lives as worthless, in her eyes, humans were not much different from cats and dogs. She and Leon, who was human in his pre-transmigration life, were ultimately different.
