Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon's Might-Chapter 462 - 454: Fierce Loli
Chapter 462: Chapter 454: Fierce Loli
The ears of a dragon aren’t so different from human ears; the range of tones that a dragon can hear is similar to that of humans. However, due to a dragon’s remarkable ability to identify important sounds and filter out background noise to focus on noteworthy sounds, even the youngest dragons possess keener hearing than the average human.
Under normal circumstances, considering how far Leon and Tassera were walking around and shopping, they certainly wouldn’t be able to hear a call from the beach. Yet, they have long surpassed the mundane; at the very least, they are Titans, capable of hearing even the slightest sounds.
If they took it a step further, they wouldn’t be much different from gods, able to hear their names as soon as someone mentions them, no matter the distance.
At this moment, Tassera was playing with a cat, a cute cow-patterned cat, when her ears twitched suddenly, and she said, "It sounds like our daughter is calling for help?"
Before Tassera finished speaking, she realized that Leon had already transformed into a streak of rainbow light and disappeared, flying back toward the beach they had left.
Even before promising Tassera a serene walk to enjoy their time together, Leon had been worried about their daughter encountering danger. He never expected that such danger would actually occur.
Traffickers or sea monsters, or perhaps some force trying to exploit his daughter to manipulate him.
Now wasn’t the time for those thoughts, nor was there time for them. Hearing his daughter’s cry for help, Leon couldn’t wait to inform Tassera and immediately activated the Long Rainbow Escape to land on the beach. Seeing his daughter safe and sound standing there, he finally let out a long sigh of relief.
With his mind at ease, Leon finally had time to survey his surroundings. The only ones worth paying attention to were the burly man dressed as a navy officer and the Sea Goddess Priest... Of course, it’s for Sharon, who is just a young dragon. Even so, with her rapid increase in strength, she should be able to handle it with ease in three to five years.
"Dad!" Sharon cheered and threw herself into Leon’s arms upon seeing him, her small hands clenching his clothes tightly before turning around to point at the crowd, "It’s those people who bullied me."
"What did you do to get yourself so disheveled, covered in sand?" Leon gently helped his daughter tidy her hair and looked up, "I need an explanation."
"You need an explanation, and so do I." Earl Carlson, who didn’t possess True Vision, naturally couldn’t see Leon’s true form. He stared at Leon, "You came just in time. Your daughter killed my son."
"So what?" Leon, as always, stood by his own.
Sharon hid behind Leon, covering her mouth and laughing.
"I don’t care who you are or where you came from!" Earl Carlson grasped the hilt of his sword, "Today you must give me an explanation!"
"Alright, I’ll give you an explanation." Leon readily agreed, smiling broadly.
"Wait a minute." Unlike Earl Carlson, who was completely a brute, the Sea Goddess Priest had a high perception, which gave her extraordinary intuition... Her instincts about the little girl’s father weren’t of danger but of great terror, a fear akin to confronting the dark deep sea. "This matter has nothing to do with me."
Leon glanced lightly at the Sea Goddess Priest and smiled, "Don’t worry, if you truly have a clear conscience, you’ll be fine."
"I am a Priest of the Sea Goddess, and you dare to kill..." The Sea Goddess Priest spoke, her pupils suddenly dilating, inexplicably feeling that the world in her eyes was shaking, followed by countless voices resounding in her ears. There were voices of believers praying and senior priests delivering divine decrees; those voices seemed both sacred and evil, striking deep into her soul.
The Sea Goddess Priest clutched her ears in agony and knelt on the ground, a strong metallic smell filling her nostrils as she gasped for air. She found out, without knowing when, the sailors brought by Earl Carlson uniformly drew their weapons and slashed at their necks. Earl Carlson’s eyes turned blood-red as he trembled and drew the family heirloom curved sword, the Wave Messenger, approaching her.
Due to the Karsus Crown, Tassera knew many spells; however, she was an academic mage, not a combat mage, and didn’t know how to efficiently use spells. By the time she used her Flying Skill to reach the beach, only Leon and Sharon were standing there talking.
"Dad, what spell did you just use?" Sharon initially thought her dad would draw his sword or use wind, but unexpectedly, he just muttered a few incomprehensible words, and those surrounding her immediately drew their swords to commit suicide or kill each other... He must have used some Confusion Control spell, but she had never heard of it.
"Soul Summoning Mantra." Leon naturally wouldn’t hide from his daughter, thinking that after many years, the Soul Summoning Mantra finally had its chance to make an appearance. The Soul Summoning Mantra was not very effective against strong enemies but was an absolute artifact for bullying weak opponents, without causing pointless destruction.
"Why have I never heard of it?" Sharon tried muttering similar words but achieved no effect. Dreamily, she said, "It seems really powerful, can I learn it?"
"Once you become a Great Arcanist, I’ll consider teaching you." Leon said, not because he was keeping secrets but because his daughter, as a Nether Dragon, had outstanding talent in magic. Her proficiency in other aspects was just mediocre. Rather than dabbling in various arts and wasting time, it was better for her to focus solely on becoming a Great Arcanist.
"Alright." Sharon pouted, a bit dissatisfied but quickly stopped caring, because she saw her mom, Tassera.
"Mom." Sharon waved at Tassera, "You’re really slow."
"It’s not that I’m slow, it’s that you two are too quick." Tassera took Sharon from Leon’s hands, "Looks like it’s all over, what on earth happened?"
Sharon recounted the events in full.
"Nothing to worry about." Leon nodded after listening. His teaching to Sharon had always been: strike back if provoked, do not offend others if they do not offend you, but if someone does offend you, make sure to retaliate. That noble boy not only spoke rudely but also intended to act, leading to his own death.
"I saw her..." Sharon suddenly shook off Leon and Tassera’s hands and ran toward a park bench on the street side, where a sobbing noblewoman sat with a sailor standing next to her, softly comforting her.
Sharon ran near the bench, raised her hand, and threw a massive fireball. When the sea breeze dispersed the smoke, there were only two charred and shattered bodies left, and only then did she turn back satisfied.
"Did those two have any issues?" Leon was sure his daughter wouldn’t do anything pointless.
Sharon gesticulated to explain that the noblewoman was the noble boy’s mother, and the sailor was an accomplice.
"You..." Leon was momentarily speechless, "Memory really serves you well."
"She was just shouting to have me killed," Sharon muttered as she lifted her head to look at Leon, "Dad, you taught me, cut the weeds without removing the roots, and they will grow again with the spring breeze."
Leon was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter, ruffling his daughter’s hair.
