Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The second Talisman

Fu Xian had no clue about the matters hidden behind the Hua family. But even if he did, he wouldn’t care.

Even his clone Mu Yan wouldn’t care.

The analysis of the Hua families’ Mei Zi elder fit Mu Yan’s character very well.

Looking at the grander view, as long as the path of his clones was unobstructed, Fu Xian didn’t care about anything.

He might have some feelings for the world, but if sacrificing a few million people could allow him to advance, he wouldn’t hesitate.

"Maybe I took the wrong path... becoming a demon would also be quite good. Then again, can’t I just have a demon clone?" He smiled at the thought but didn’t reject it.

So what if he became a demon?

He already had a Gu clone that killed people for the ’greater good’. Adding another killer wouldn’t matter.

Through the years of cultivation, he learned that the greatest sin was Weakness!

"The Stone Lotus County is around three months away from the capital.

This travel to the county is a rather tedious training method. After the first time, Mu Yan can just use the teleportation formations to teleport between the counties.

I have arranged several things for Mu Yan and he also got not only investment but also a connection to one of the families there.

With the vassal family of brother Longbao, there should be two families already...

Hmm, I will leave the arrangements to him.

It should just be done according to the idea of one power in the open, the other hidden.

Since the Liang family is traceable, brother Longbao’s vassal family should stay behind and become the spy in the enemy camp."

Fu Xian gave a final look over Mu Yan’s matter before closing this talisman window.

For now, he felt that he had done enough.

He couldn’t constantly focus on his clones. The time spent couldn’t be used to do anything else. It wasn’t even good to relax since he had to exhaust his mind to pass on his thoughts.

Having one less screen to look at, he felt a bit better.

Turning it off, he glanced over the others.

His spiritual planter clone wasn’t very exciting. He had learned a few more spells and his talent was recognized, so he was given a larger field to farm.

Occasionally Fu Xian would look over and give a few hints on cultivating them, improving the level of this clone rapidly.

His cultivation was also progressing very well since he didn’t practice a higher art. Now it was already at the third stage, not far from the bottleneck.

That was all thanks to having chosen a wood cultivation art and being surrounded by wood energy and abundant spiritual power in the fields.

"Hmm, although I put some investment, I don’t think this one will do too well. Based on my calculations, he will likely stop at the late stage for at least ten years, and progress from then on will become extremely difficult..."

He had some plans regarding this clone, but these would have to wait for later.

Since it was low effort and didn’t have much of his investment, he didn’t close it. As they say, you can do an easy task at any time without stressing yourself. Just like breathing actively. It’s easy and doesn’t stress you, but it’s still an action.

Turning his head, he looked at the other high-investment clone.

Teigu was still in the mountains, searching for the nearby town.

He knew it existed since there were a few villagers who went there once, but that was many years ago.

Besides, he only heard rumours and didn’t go there on his own.

So, with just a general direction in mind, it was difficult for him to find the place.

Fu Xian looked over but couldn’t help. Getting a map of the southern mountains was extremely difficult! Much more so than one of the Ning Dynasty.

Even the southern cultivators themselves might not have one such map!

"Well, I hope you achieve this matter on your own!" Fu Xian could only look at it but not do anything.

Having looked over them, Fu Xian finally looked at the table in front of him.

He wasn’t free these days, so how could he suddenly make time to inspect them all?

In front of him were two talismans –

On the left was a talisman on a light-brown piece of paper, slightly aged. The ink was black and precise.

Right in the centre of the paper was a circle. Inside were two rings with a few lines. Beyond these there was a large symbol of a shield, seemingly protecting the central point of the talisman.

Outside this circle was a ring with two small symbols at the top and bottom, two spheres that seemed to connect the whole body.

Beyond this ring there were two more rings filled with precise and extremely small runes with four symbols at the four directions – Water, Protection, Fluidity, and Lake.

These rings shaped the initial circle into an oval shape, like a barrier of protection!

Droplets of water were drawn around the shield, extending beyond.

The first line of droplets were empty, the second line was one of runes, and in the third there were droplets with runes inscribed inside.

In the upper left corner there was a large rune called ’Lake’, and in the lower right corner was another rune called ’Shield’.

The other talisman was simpler –

On a white piece of paper, there was blue colour. In the centre it was deep blue, and in waves it became lighter until it disappeared. The ink was white and pure.

It had the exact same oval shape in the centre, from the circle to the inscribed rings.

But unlike the droplets, instead, four runic lines were written outside it.

On the bottom was a line describing the depth of a lake, and the top described the vastness of a lake. The line on the left described the prosperity a lake brought, and the right described the safety it brought.

Finally, a drop was drawn at the end of the bottom line, the symbol of ’Connection’.

"Rise!" Fu Xian called out.

Instantly, the two talismans rose above the table, flying in front of him.

Right then he took out a new sheet of paper –

It was made of a lighter paper but was thicker than the two papers.

"Separate!" Fu Xian called out again.

The talismans trembled in the air, seemingly about to explode. Just then, a white-black light shone in Fu Xian’s eyes. The light seemed to control the talismans, forcing them to comply.

Ink and paper separated and the talisman paper fell from the sky. In just a few moments, all the spirituality contained dissipated, instead used to stabilise the ink and colour in the air.

"Combine!" Fu Xian called out a third time.

The talisman paper stood in the middle of both these inks.

Blue colour fell on the right side, black ink on the left.

In that instant, the talisman trembled once more, but Fu Xian’s black and white light forced it to calm down.

Spiritual power gathered from all over when the talisman was completed, helping it stabilise.

Finally, the light ceased and the talisman slowly fell into Fu Xian’s hand.

He looked at his work in admiration.

"Years of hard work have built the foundation for today’s success!"
