Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 211: Suspiscious
Andria’s POV
Damon was too forward with that question, "Aria... remember what Liara said? About you... not having an identity?"
Luckily for me, Allison burst into the locker room and saved the day.
A loud knock on my door brought me out of my thoughts.
"Who are you? And what do you want? It’s too early to be banging on my door," I called.
"It’s us, Aria, you got to calm down a little," Mel and Becca chorused.
A slight smile grazed my lips.
"Come on in," I said, and they pushed the door open and walked in, holding hands together like sophomore year kids.
"What’s with the sudden attitude and need to see me this early?" I asked, looking at them suspiciously.
"Well, the last time we started a discussion without you, you were very pissed off, and you looked like you were about to tear us limb from limb," Becca said, twisting her mouth from side to side. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"And so this time around, we decided we knocked on your door, no matter the time to involve you, so you wouldn’t be pissed off again," Mel added, rolling her eyes dramatically.
"Come off it, guys, I wasn’t so pissed off that day. Was I?"
They exchanged looks and laughed out loud.
"You were actually boiling. I could see steam come off your head, Aria. I’ve never been so terrified," Becca humored.
I burst into laughter. "Becca...you are good, I mean, see how you exaggerated the whole scene."
"It’s not like you were so pissed off, Ari, but we could tell you weren’t comfortable, so this was the only way to redeem ourselves, and not make the same mistake," Mel said in an unusual, calm and soft tone that felt a bit off.
"Mel, what’s going on? You sound very angelic this morning. What do you want?" I asked her suspiciously, squinting my eyes a little.
"Nothing much, I just came to talk about the game night, since it will be nice if we had the game night tonight, to cool off the tension surrounding Ashwood recently," Mel blurted nervously.
I studied her gesture and shrugged. Maybe she was deeply touched by everything I had told her yesterday.
"So?" I asked.
"The guest list is small, and we need to spice it up, a little bit of drama..."Mel started.
"Where is this leading to?" I asked.
I already knew Mel was hell-bent on watching a dramatic scene and would love to invite Alexa and Tricia, as if the fire lit by Tracy’s sister wasn’t enough, and now she wants another scene with her friends.
"Calm down, Ari, you are too forward, I’m just making suggestions," she said, "I brought it up with Becca..."
"And I declined, but you decided that we go meet Ari, isn’t it?" Becca interrupted Mel.
"Ok, spill already, and stop beating around the bush," I said, staring at Mel intensely.
She seemed very uncomfortable under my gaze, and she shifted a little.
"I wanted to add Alexa and Tricia back on the list. Listen, Aria, nothing can ever go wrong, or are you scared? We are the ones hosting it, and the Alpha successors are going to be around in case of any problem," she suggested, squinting her eyes a little, pleadingly.
But that’s the problem, I didn’t want the Alpha successors and Alexa or Tricia in the same room on that game night. It’s either the Alpha successors or Tricia and Alexa.
But then, I could change the outcome, even with Alexa and Tricia on the list.
There was silence between us for a while, until I broke it.
"They can be added to the guest list..." I saw Mel’s face light up in surprise.
"On one condition."
Her excitement gradually faded. "What’s the condition?" She asked, her voice sounding a little bit anxious.
"You wouldn’t be the game master, Becca will," I said, my voice firm and final.
"Why is that? Is there any problem with me being the game master? Ari, what’s wrong? Is this still about your rivalry with Alexa and Tricia?"Mel asked nervously and was surprised.
"I just feel Becca would do a great job as a game master. Let’s spice things up a little and bring Becca to the spotlight," I answered.
"But Becca has no experience in hosting events...no offense, Becca," she said, looking towards Becca.
"None taken," Becca replied, but from the look on her face, I could tell she took offense to what Mel just said.
Mel continued, "I have experienced hosting an event, you can attest to it, ’the kissing booth’ wasn’t a failure."
"There is always a first time for everyone; besides, I’m here, and you are also here to help her out," I suggested, ignoring how uncomfortable she felt with the idea.
Mel has been off for a while, especially after ’the kissing booth’ event; she has been a little more boisterous and secretive.
She talks a lot without saying anything.
She looked over to Becca, "Do you think that you can be the game master, you know..."
"Stop it already. Why are you doing what you are doing now?" I interrupted her.
"What am I doing?" she asked, feigning ignorance.
"You are trying to instigate her, showing your superiority..."
"It’s ok, Mel, Aria, I can do it, no need to fight over it. And Mel, thanks for underestimating me," Becca cut me off, and then stood up to leave.
"Well, you heard her; she can handle the game master role," I added.
I could tell Mel was uncomfortable and probably hiding something from me. My dream from the previous night hasn’t left my mind.
The way Mel urged Tristan to kiss Alexa or drink that strange drink, all because of a game night.
Something about it unsettled me, and I’m not going to let that happen.
"I don’t know why you are off towards me, especially with this game night coming up. I just want us to have fun and forget about everything that has been going on in Ashwood for the past months," Mel said, standing up sluggishly.
"I want to have fun, but with Alexa and Tricia around, everything can go from fun to fight," I responded.
"And you don’t think that I can handle the situation?"
