Taming the Hybrid Mate: Desired by Five Alphas-Chapter 226: Let’s go shopping
Andria’s POV
"Ok, ok, calm down, Ari—my gosh. I wanted us all to go shopping," she said with a wide smile.
"Shopping?" I asked, surprised, and then it hit me. "For the prom night?"
"Yes, part of it. But we need to restock dresses and jewellery. Don’t you think so?" Becca added.
"I didn’t say I was short of dresses or jewellery. So what?" I asked.
"You are Ari. I could count your dresses and jewellery," Becca replied.
"And who asked you for such an analysis? I never complained to you," I retorted.
"Hey, easy, Ari. We mean good. Let’s go shopping and probably have some fun outside this school compound.
Everyone contesting is going shopping today, and the other students who aren’t contesting but need to shop for dresses are coming too.
The school bus will take us there for added safety and bring us back. There’s nothing to be scared of," Allison explained.
"I hear you," I replied.
"So you two go dress up, the bus will soon be out. If we miss out, we can’t go shopping, as you know, we are banned from leaving the school premises at our own will because of the recent happenings," she stated.
I rolled my eyes and walked back to my room.
I checked the messages from the media that I had ignored last night while waiting for Sir Kaelric’s message.
I confirmed that all that Allison had just said was announced at the school media. I sighed and walked into the shower.
The thoughts of what had happened the previous night in the shower flashed back to me. I let out a slight chuckle, cleaned up, and walked out.
I rummaged through my clothes in my closet. Becca was right: I needed to restock my wardrobe. I needed new dresses because some of my old clothes were worn out and now too small.
I pulled out a yellow short-flare dress, paired it with a white-beaded necklace and earrings, then put on white wedge sandals to go with it, slung my yellow handbag, combed my hair, and stepped out of my room to join the others.
"Since we are all set, let’s get going," Allison announced.
Becca looked so excited as if she had been promised a gift.
"It’s been a while since I left the confines of these school walls," Becca whispered to me.
"Oh, I see where this energy and excitement are coming from. Well, you will be leaving the school compound soon. I don’t think that’s so exciting," I answered.
"It is to me. Especially the fact that I would be coming back with goodies from the boutique and supermarket," she answered.
"Oh yes, Becca, that reminds me. We have to restock our groceries. And you have to. You have already finished mine after you were done with yours," I complained.
"Sorry, Ari. But there’s love in sharing," she replied, giggling. "Or am I not your friend anymore?"
"Stop that gaslighting, Becca, or I’ll stop you from touching my groceries again," I answered her.
Allison chuckled without turning to look at any of us.
"It’s not funny, Allison," Becca murmured.
"Please don’t direct your frustration to me, I’m unavailable," Allison voiced out, chuckling more.
Becca clicked her teeth, rolling her eyes at us. "Any...ways," she pronounced each syllable deliberately. "I’m headed to the supermarket, I’ll get as many groceries as I want until this session is finally over and I can go home."
"Good for you," Allison replied, and I chuckled.
Becca rolled her eyes at us.
We soon got to the bus. Some students were already there, including Alexa, Tricia, and Liara.
"Seems like they were allowed to go shopping too," Becca muttered, feeling disappointed, her excitement dying down a bit.
"Exactly," I replied.
"I just hope they wouldn’t be stirring trouble today," Allison murmured.
"Hey, Ari," Macy waved at me. "Hi, Allison," she also waved at Allison.
We waved back at her in unison.
"It wouldn’t be so bad," I said, although I was unsure, because with Liara in their midst, things could turn a little bit unpredictable.
I looked around, and I saw Sir Kaelric. I released a sigh of relief. Allison saw the direction of my eyes and let out a sigh of relief before nudging me slightly.
"You saw him, didn’t you?"
"Allison, this is not the time," I replied, a bit flustered.
"It’s never the time with you, Ari. But I can see you blush," Allison whispered.
"What are you two gossiping about?" Becca asked, obviously oblivious of what had just happened.
"Nothing much..."
"Sir Kaelric is here, and Ari can’t help staring and blushing," Allison interrupted.
"That’s not true," I replied, and just then, I locked eyes with Sir Kaelric, and his mouth curved into a cunning one-sided smile.
Heat crept up to my face, and I immediately looked away.
"You see what I’m saying, she did it again," Allison voiced out.
"Enough of that. Let’s get into the bus already, it’s getting filled up, and we may not get a good seat," I replied, shifting the topic.
Becca moved immediately, and I followed her towards the school bus entrance. Allison reluctantly dropped the topic and followed.
"You have a mate also, I would tease you whenever I see you and Khalil," Becca said.
I chuckled as I saw Allison’s flustered face. "You are already flustered, and he isn’t here. What happens if you happen to see him now?" I teased.
"You changed the topic earlier, I suggest it remains changed," Allison replied, amidst blush and rolled her eyes to the effect.
Becca and I burst out laughing.
"You can’t take what you dish out," Becca teased.
"Enough, already," Allison warned.
"Alright, we hear you," I replied.
We took a seat in the third row of the bus. I sat closest to the window, Becca sat in the middle, while Allison sat close to the aisle.
The bus was so large that it had six sitters in each row—three before the aisle and three after. The boss had twelve rolls, making it a total of 72 sitters.
Two buses with 72 seats were arranged for shopping to accommodate every student who wanted to shop instead of attending the prom.
"I love our positioning," Becca pointed out.
I loved it too, but I didn’t think it was worth mentioning, especially when Liara, Alexa and Tricia haven’t settled in yet.
We could regret our positioning as soon as they took the seat opposite us, or in front of us or adjacent to us. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"You love almost everything, provided it has to do with today’s shopping. You are just excited, I don’t see anything good or bad about our sitting position," Allison shot at Becca.
"You are just looking for a word banter with me, and that wouldn’t work. As you said, I’m just very excited, so excited to banter words with you," Becca replied.
Allison chuckled. "Rela,x Becca, I was just teasing you, just the way you were teasing me."
"Didn’t seem like that," I interrupted. " I was tense for a moment," I joked.
And they caught the joke, and burst out laughing.
The detention room had brought us closer than we thought. We understood each other’s joke, and it felt as if we were in sync.
"I can’t wait to get out of this school compound," Becca voiced.
"Well, you have to wait," I replied to her.
And just then, Alexa, Tricia and Liara walked in.
I swallowed, Becca rolled her eyes, and Allison clicked her teeth.
Liara paused as she entered, scanning the bus for a place to sit, then walked straight to the seat beside us. Alexa and Tricia followed suit like her little pet puppies.
"Look at the way they flock her, like she is Tracy," Becca murmured.
"Don’t make the mistake of throwing the first punch," I whispered back at her, hushing her.
"We would be getting a dress for real royalty, not some underdog claiming royalty," Tricia remarked.
Allison swallowed, pretending not to have noticed that it was an innuendo suggested to her.
"Stupid bitches," Becca muttered.
"Don’t give them the attention they crave," Allison whispered.
Soon, the bus got filled up. Sir Kaelric sat in the front row.
"Your brother and his friends aren’t going shopping?" Becca asked.
"No. They have more than enough. Besides, they can send anyone to deliver the dress to them," she replied nonchalantly.
"Of course, I forgot that they are the gods of Ashwood for a while," Becca muttered.
"Indeed. I’m already fed up with their egotistical attitude. I wonder how Aria copes with not just my brother, but the three of them," Allison complained.
"You can say that again, they are a bundle of problems..."
"Maybe to your cunt, because I see how you blush whenever they are around," Becca interrupted me.
"Don’t let me start with you, Becca. You wouldn’t like it," I warned.
The car took off immediately. "Oh, finally," Becca sighed.
"Hey, underdog, we know you haven’t been out of Ashwood since the session began, but you don’t have to make it so obvious. You uncivilized, low-rank wolf," Alexa shouted towards Becca.
Becca glared at Alexa hard for a while, and was about to say a word when...
