Chapter 202: He risked his life to save Selene...

Narrator POV

As Kragen soared the sky, making a rapid descent towards Moon Whisper, he couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. He was crying not because he was sad but ... finally, he would let go of that tiny threat of hope that his mother would ever love him openly.

He grew up being told that he was lucky to be alive... to be carried for months and be given birth to. That was what his father told him repeatedly.

"Your mother is too busy saving our world... you should be lucky she decided to have you".

And that was the mentality he had grown up with. All his life, he wanted to make things easier for her... hoping that one day, she would need him and look at him for once... just for what he was but years turned into centuries and centuries went by... so he gave up hope...

Only for him to meet Selene... a woman at the verge of death who could have easily sacrificed her children and lived a better life but she chooses them. Up until today, she still does and that is because... mothers do that... not his mother though, after all she was the moon goddess.

Finally, he landed in front of the hospital that Noah was admitted, still surprised that he was in his form. Adjusting his clothing that was rumpled from the descent, he started towards the hospital. At the reception, he smiled at the nurses on duty, loving the way he felt their heart flutter and their cheeks turned red. Werewolf women were the warmest creatures he’d ever come across.

They were passionate love makers and never holds back, no matter what. He glided through the big hospital wondering what to do and how to find Noah. As he stood at the elevator looking for clues, a tall, handsome man dressed in casual clothes like himself walked past the nurses at the reception, winked at them and they reacted to him just like they did to him a few minutes ago. However, instead of going towards the elevator, he continued down the hall.

A few minutes later, he reappeared dressed in some sort of blue two piece clothe and a white knee length coat covering it. His hair was inside a bonnet and he had gloves on and a different kind of shoe. As Kragen watched, the man went towards the reception and he picked up words like ’give me the record of the patients due for surgery today,’.

That was exactly what he needed. If he could lay hands on the medical reports belonging to Noah... then he’d be able to find where he was. Nodding, he started towards the hallways. Some minutes later, he reappeared dressed in similar apparel he had seen that other man put on. Confidently, he strolled to the reception desk.

"Hi ladies," he gave them a smile "You both look spectacular today,".

The two women giggled, smiling from ear to ear. One of them finally composed herself and asked.

"Are you the consultant coming in today for Noah Carrell? Dr Simeon?"

Without delay, Kragen nodded "Yes, it is me. Can you bring me up to speed with what’s happening to him and where he is currently?"

"Sure doc... I’ll just pull out his medical history and...".

"I don’t have time to read," Kragen shook his head vehemently. He couldn’t read. He didn’t have a present mother to teach him that much and his father was really clueless about things like that. "Could you be a darling and read it aloud for me?"

"Sure, thing doc," the young woman nodded enthusiastically and began to crone nonstop about medical terminology. When she finally finished, she turned to Noah, gazing at him expectantly. "Are there any other information you want to do?" she asked.

"Except his ward," Kragen said gently "I’m sorry, I’ve forgotten what number you mentioned,".

The lady volunteered to take him there which he readily agreed. Once they got to the ward, he gave her a wink, enjoying how she blushed deeply to her roots. He noticed there was heavy security at the entrance of his ward which he passed easily. They didn’t bat an eyelid since they thought he was the doctor.

Brushing past them, he entered the room and was surprised when he saw Leonard Carrell – the grand Lycan seating on the chair next to Noah’s bed. In his hands, he had some story book which he was reading out loud to Noah. Kragen cleared his throat trying to register his presence. As soon as the Grand Lycan noticed his presence he rose to his feet and came towards him, hands outstretched.

"You must be the consultant coming in today?" the Grand Lycan asked, cocking his brow curiously at Kragen

"H-How did you know that?" Kragen asked, terrified that his cover might have been blown.

"The hospital said they were bringing in another specialist. There’s been no chance since forever and I’m worried. Honestly, I didn’t think I’d ever worry over a child as I am now and I’ll be a liar if I say I don’t want all of these to end. I want my son to be strong and healthy again and I strongly believe you’d be able to help him,".

"Oh!" Kragen arched his brow at him, trying hard not to laugh. "I will try my best sir. Can I have the room, so I can examine him properly?"

"Sure," the Grand Lycan nodded and backed out of the room. Leaving Noah together with Kragen. It was so satisfying seeing him bother about a child and pitying at the same time. As soon as they were alone, Kragen walked up to an unconscious Noah, his eyes running up and down his body, trying to understand what happened for him to have fallen so ill.

As he closed his eyes, with his hand hovering over him, he paused as his eyes flew open at the memories of Noah that rushed to him. Noah was trying to stop Selene from worrying... she was the reason why he had left home that morning without bothering to protect himself. Again, he risked his life to save Selene.
