"Why ask them? Ask me. I will reply," Eleanor said in a firm yet weak voice.
"Little one, why do you get up from your bed? I will get a chair for you to sit on," Martin said and ran inside the ward. But he found nothing. The waiting seats are made of stainless steel it will hurt her bum. He should find something comfortable. He ran all over the hospital to find a good chair. Finally, a wheelchair was good and comfortable he brought it to her.
He made Eleanor sit in it without even asking her. "You spoke eight words! I will bring water to you," he said and ran inside her ward to bring water. He made her drink water.
"Big brother, I am not a patient," Eleanor said.
"Yeah... yeah... that’s why I got admitted to the hospital right?" he mocked. She has nothing to retort to him.
"So you wanted to do something, tell me, Mr.Anthony Thorne Hallard," Eleanor started.
For some reason, Anthony felt scared not because of her voice or firmness. His blood was flowing in her veins, if she wasn’t this firm or strong then he would be ashamed. For some reason, he felt that something huge is gonna happen. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"I have many things to talk about. I won’t deny the fact that I heard everything crystal clear without missing a word.
"Now, Let’s talk point-wise without missing a single thing. After all, I have to clear a few of your delusions that you had about me," Eleanor said.
No one thought Eleanor would hear them and instead of crying, she came forward to face it without hiding. Indeed if its two years ago she would have hidden and cried but she wasn’t the same now. She was changed for good.
"First thing, with bankruptcy. You wanted us to suffer because you didn’t get your wife’s affection. Right?" Eleanor asked.
Anthony nodded even though he felt it would ruin their moment. Since she heard everything, there was no need for him to lie to her.
"You know, when Nathaira came into the picture three months ago, Cedric tried to hide it from me and wanted to solve it without giving a burden to me. And he felt guilty for sleeping with her. With that guilt, we almost broke our relationship. Just like how my biological mother and my stepfather did.
"We have our differences but when things were getting out of control Nathaira revealed everything to me. Because of a lack of communication we got separated. But we are together now. My mother left us because she was feeling guilty. If she felt guilty and loved me or my brother or my father, she would have said everything to him. He would have been with her and we would have been a happy family. But she never did. She was too busy being selfish! And her selfishness was turned into guilty now?" Eleanor said as she crossed her hands against her chest with a stern expression. Her face got no single expression, it was blank yet she looked calm but she was just looking menacing.
Martin didn’t see his sister Eleanor but a different kind of Eleanor now. When his father said Eleanor wasn’t the same but was now a grown-up, he didn’t think it was possible. Now he realized, he was right. She grew up. He felt proud.
He wanted to say the one whom everyone listening to was his sister.
"When she lost her child, you never gave her company instead gave her privacy letting her grieve all by herself. It’s the most important period for you and her relationship yet you left her alone making her grow distant from you. When she was with my father, she lived in the feeling that she loved him but she never did. She wanted him to love the way he did to Aunt Aria. Indeed, she is a great woman with virtues but she lived in misconceptions and delusions.
"And she continued to live in them even after she got together with you. Yet you made no effort to break them. You wanted her to make the efforts in your relationship and never made a real effort to show your love. Your love is flawed yet you tried to find flaws from her point and tried to shift the blame on us.
"When you lost your child, all you did was get busy with revenge and blaming your enemies. If you are smart enough you should have called the doctor home or should have taken precautions. I am pregnant now, my husband made the doctor live in our home just to be available 24/7 for me. You are underworld king, yet you weren’t able to do the thing my husband did?
"You failed as a husband first and then as a father after losing the baby. And now... you are blaming the Zora family? This is ridiculous!" Eleanor said as she harshly tore his facade which he was hiding under his strong facade. She revealed his insecurities his mistakes and his flaws harshly. Eleanor made him feel vulnerable by exposing him.
Everyone has their weak points. And Eleanor pressed them directly without any remorse and harshly. If he thinks he can become an angel just because he revealed truths and was a little kind to her friend, he was wrong. She may not be that experienced with the world but she knows how the world works. This world was never kind to her!
"Oh... I spoke three points apart from the bankruptcy. Let’s talk about bankruptcy. What made you think we would feel vulnerable just because we went bankrupt? Even if my father is on his death bed, he would work hard just to make me feel comfortable. Can you do that to your wife? Let us say.... Since you found out I am your daughter, can you do that for me? Forget about me or mother, let’s talk about Myna. Can you do that for her?
"When she left her family she was here suffering alone with empty stomachs and while working hard. Where were you? Aren’t you the great Anthony Thorne Hallard, whose name spread across the seven oceans and just your name itself brings fear down the spine? Where were you when she suffered and was hungry!?! You said she is an angel in your lives. Okay, I agree with that. Because she is an angel in our lives too.
"But do you have the guts to say that you and your wife are angels in her life?" She asked slicing his heart with a sharp sword into thousand pieces. Anthony didn’t show it but his heart was bleeding continuously at her words.
And he can’t refute her. All his words stuck in his throat making him mute in that situation.
