Ling Feng and the others looked towards the voice. On top of the monster's enormous head, they saw a half-human shape fused abruptly with the creature. It was the upper body of the Heaven Patrolling Angel!

His body looked even more ruined than before. Parts of his face had peeled away to reveal glaring bone. A single glance was enough to make anyone's scalp prickle.

The horror deepened as he forced the monster to climb out of the abyss. The entire figure emerged slowly from the depths. It was a colossal creature nearly one hundred zhang tall!

The Heaven Patrolling Angel glared at them with his single remaining eye. His expression carried unrestrained madness. His body had been battered by the Thunder Orb and torn apart by the Venerable of the Desolate Sea's self-detonation. Five hundred years ago, two peerless experts battled in the Tianlan Sea Region. Their fight shattered the sky and collapsed the void. One of those combatants had been this creature.

This creature had originally been a Devil from Beyond. A strong expert of the divine race from the Immortal Domain discovered its traces and hunted it to the Sea of Miracles. The battle ended with both sides perishing there.

Ten years ago, the Heaven Patrolling Angel fought the mysterious black-robed man and suffered heavy damage to his elemental qi. He hid within the Sea of Miracles to recover. During that time, he discovered the body of the Devil from Beyond.

Although five centuries had passed, the demonic qi lingering in the Devil from Beyond's corpse had affected the very laws of heaven and earth within the Sea of Miracles. This caused the cannibalistic cultivators to undergo constant mutation. The despair and resentment produced by the people they consumed fused with that demonic qi, and a new monster was eventually born!

Giant waves surged upward. Ling Feng and the others' faces turn grim. Even in its weakened state, the monster the Heaven Patrolling Angel commanded was not something they could handle.

There was no second Thunder Orb. The Venerable of the Desolate Sea could not self-detonate again.

Murong Zining had escaped away quickly enough, so she ended up avoiding the disaster entirely.

The Heaven Patrolling Angel roared with madness. The thoughts of the monster seemed to disturb his mind, turning this neither human nor ghost creature completely insane.

The sea erupted.

Waves rose like dragons and swept toward the sky.

The frightened residents huddled near the walls of the island and shivered.

Everything before their eyes resembled the end of the world!

The expected wave never touched them. Two figures stood before the walls and raised overlapping barriers that stopped the water before it reached the people.

The survivors cried with gratitude and dropped to their knees in prayer. They regarded the sight as a miracle.

Lin Mu and Lou Qianzhong exchanged a helpless look.

"That monster truly refuses to die," Lou Qianzhong said through clenched teeth. He struggled to maintain the barrier. His elemental force had been exhausted by the previous battles.

"Damn it!"

Lin Mu muttered. He had never expected the Heaven Patrolling Angel to possess such monstrous life force.

At that moment, the only person they could rely on was Ling Feng.

"Fatty. What do we do now? That treasure that works like the thunder ball. Do you still have one?"

Lan Yuhuang trembled as she looked at the gigantic monster. It was at least ten times more terrifying than the creature sealed beneath the Misty Sea Volcano Island!

"You think I still have some hidden trump card? I was bluffing earlier to scare the Venerable of the Desolate Sea!"

Ling Feng felt a wave of helplessness. He had been completely drained after using the Thunder Orb. There would not be a second one.

His thoughts raced as he searched for a method to break the situation. However, the monster controlled by the Heaven Patrolling Angel blocked their path. Its massive body left them no way to escape.

The Heaven Patrolling Angel fixed his vicious gaze on Ling Feng. His demonic claw lunged forward with brutal force.

Ling Feng charged upward and struck out with both arms, pushing Tuoba Yan and Lan Yuhuang away. He drew the claw toward himself so that the two women would not be dragged into the attack.

Both women cried out. They unleashed their divine abilities. Tuoba Yan used the Tianheng Technique and Lan Yuhuang used her toxic arts. Neither attack could pierce the scales covering the demonic claw.

The Heaven Patrolling Angel laughed wildly. "Do not worry. Your turn will come soon!"

Ling Feng maintained a steady expression. He relied on the speed of the Flying Immortal Sword Controlling Art to narrowly dodge the attacks. He avoided death several times by a hair's breadth.

The Heaven Patrolling Angel's eye widened. The enormous eye of the monster beneath him opened fully. Blood vessels bulged across its surface. A wave of spiritual force rippled outward.

Ling Feng found himself blocked by fire in front and a demonic claw behind. There was nowhere left to flee.

He no longer wished to claim Ling Feng's body as a vessel. His mind had been twisted beyond recovery. He now wanted to torment Ling Feng with the most venomous and cruel methods imaginable so that Ling Feng would neither live nor die!
