Chapter 553: Chapter 553: Thoughtful, Ex-Husband

"Then I’ll get up and take a shower. We’ll countdown to Christmas together afterward."

"Okay."

Munni lifted the quilt and gracefully got out of bed.

Yisen’s gaze was warmly fixed on her delicate and radiant body, until she walked straight into the bathroom and closed the door. Only then did he reluctantly look away.

He also lifted the quilt, walked naked out of the room, and entered the bathroom next to the living room to take a shower.

Once he finished showering, he walked to the sofa in the living room, bent down to pick up the suit pants he had left on the floor, and retrieved a box containing a diamond ring from the pocket.

For a second time, he opened the box lid, gazing tenderly at the exquisite diamond ring nestled within.

His previously calm and steady heart quickened due to the passage of time, filled with anticipation for what was about to happen, as a wave of unfamiliar nervousness surged through him.

Yisen placed the ring box into the pocket of his bathrobe and strolled back to the room, where Munni was still in the bathroom.

He walked to the bedside table, picked up his phone, and glanced at the time—just twenty minutes until midnight.

He walked to the corner by the window, standing before the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, a slight smile playing at the corners of his lips.

After waiting another five minutes, Munni finally emerged from the bathroom.

She too wore a bathrobe, her pale and smooth feet were bare on the carpet in the room as she elegantly walked towards Yisen.

Yisen slightly turned his body, watching her get closer and closer until she stood side by side with him. Only then did he look away, while one hand naturally encircled her slender waist.

"Fifteen minutes to go."

"Okay."

Together, they gazed out the window at the night sky, which was adorned with a few stars. Perhaps due to the cold temperature, even the full moon could not help but hide half its body behind thin clouds, emitting a cold moonlight.

"Just waiting like this is pretty boring. Why don’t I get your gift, and we can open them now?" Munni glanced sideways at Yisen, as if asking for his opinion.

"Okay." Yisen nodded, having no objections to her suggestion.

Munni moved his hand from her waist, quickly turned, and walked to the dressing room, taking the Christmas gift she prepared for Yisen from her suitcase.

She carried the elaborately wrapped gift box back into the room, then handed it to Yisen.

Yisen lowered his gaze to the gift box she offered him, then lifted his eyes to look at Munni.

"Your gift."

A joyful smile involuntarily appeared on his lips, as he reached out to accept the gift box from Munni. "Thanks, Munni."

Finally, he pointed to the twenty-eight various-sized gift boxes beneath the Christmas tree and said, "Your gifts."

Munni was slightly startled and asked in surprise, "All of them?"

Yisen nodded, "Yes, all of them."

To be honest, Munni had thought the boxes under the tree were part of the Christmas tree decorations, but unexpectedly, they were all gifts Yisen had prepared for her.

After the initial shock, a faint hint of emotion played upon her face, "You’re thoughtful, ex-husband."

"It’s only right."

Munni pulled Yisen down to sit on the ground together, then reminded him, "Open it and see if you like the gift." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

She pointed to the gift in Yisen’s hand.

"Okay."
