The Beginning Of A Five Year Agony-Chapter 39: I am Solmira, the goddess of color.
Chapter 39: I am Solmira, the goddess of color.
The rain continued to fall, mixing with the blood on Samuel’s face and washing over the shattered ground around him. He stood in the center of the destruction, the body of Malaki lying motionless and lifeless at his feet. The cold water seeped into his torn clothes, clinging to his bloody skin, but he barely registered the sensation. His focus was elsewhere...
All that remained in his mind was the name... Luminara, Goddess of Chronokinesis.
The profound despair he had felt moments before had not entirely left him... a dull, persistent ache resonated deep within his chest. However, a singular, and urgent purpose began to solidify in his consciousness. He had to go to the divine realm fast. There was no other choice, no alternative path if he was to pursue this...terrible truth.
"Lira..." The name crossed his mind, a whisper of concern amidst all the chaos. Lira and Yvaine, with her older sister...were they safe? His immediate priority shifted from vengeance to the safety of his friends.
"Aegirion," Samuel called out, his voice filled with urgency, despite the lingering exhaustion in his throat. "Where are Lira and Yvaine?"
"They are on top of the hill to the south," Aegirion responded directly, its voice clear within his mind, providing the precise location.
Instantly, Samuel pushed off from the pulverized ground. He launched himself into the atmosphere, moving with a burst of controlled essence and energy. He landed briefly on the still...swampy soil, a consequence of the heavy rain and the churned ground, just long enough to build momentum. Then, with a powerful drive from his legs, he launched himself again into the sky, ascending rapidly. As he ascended...sand and debris dropped from his feet, displaced by his forceful takeoff.
Thoom...!
He landed heavily but precisely on top of the specified hill. His eyes immediately swept the area. Lira and Yvaine, along with Yvaine’s older sister, were still there, lying unconscious on the wet ground. Hit by rain. All three were breathing lowly, their chests rising and falling shallowly, indicating they were alive but deeply unresponsive to their surrounding.
Samuel let out a long and shuddering sigh of relief. A heavy tension he hadn’t realized he was holding released from his shoulders. They were alive...
Then, before he could fully process their state or his relief, a deafening sound erupted from above.
Boom!
A massive, visible crack appeared in the sky directly above them. It split the clouds, tearing through the grey expanse. Simultaneously, the rain stopped instantly, as if an unseen force had simply cut it off. Samuel instinctively tilted his head upwards, his gaze fixed on the impossible tear in the clouds...
Only for him to see a vast, imposing creature emerging from the fractured sky. It possessed four distinct heads and four powerful wings. Each head was different from the others, each resembling a distinct creature... one was an Ox, another a beastly Lion, a third an Eagle with piercing eyes, and the fourth, strikingly, resembled a human Man. Its wings, immense and powerful, flapping rhythmically, distorting the very air.
Then, from the clouds surrounding the creature, an ethereal, unearthly music began to play above. It was a sound unlike anything Samuel had ever heard, resonating deep within his bones, a melody both grand and unsettling.
Before Samuel could react or even fully comprehend what he was seeing, a massive, powerful hand descended from the sidelines. It was too large to evade, too swift to counter. It grasped not just him, but also the unconscious Lira, Yvaine, and her older sister. They were all enveloped by its immense grasp. The hand then pulled them all directly into a swirling portal, an opening composed of rapidly shifting and distorting colors, greens, blues, purples, and yellows blending into a dizzying vortex.
Then his vision slowly began to dim, losing all definition. He felt a sudden drain on his consciousness as if his mind itself was being pulled apart. He was losing his awareness, unable to fight the overwhelming sensation.
Samuel blacked out. The sheer, intense, and overwhelming essence and energy from the portal and the entity that grabbed them were simply too much for his exhausted body and mind to withstand. He succumbed to unconsciousness.
After some time, Samuel’s eyelids slowly began to open up, allowing in a small, faint amount of light. The light was gentle, not harsh. He blinked twice, slowly, allowing his vision to clear and adjust to his surroundings.
Standing directly in front of him was an absolutely massive female figure. She was over 100 feet tall, her form reaching up towards what appeared to be a distant ceiling or sky... Samuel could not tell. But The height difference wasn’t just significant... it was overwhelming. It was as if Samuel was standing at the base of a towering mountain, gazing up at its peak. The sheer scale was beyond anything he had ever physically encountered.
Without thinking, Samuel immediately called for "Aegirion," attempting to summon his blade into his hand. But nothing happened. The familiar hum of his weapon, the immediate response, was absent. His hand remained empty.
"What the hell?" Samuel questioned aloud, his voice rough with confusion and a sudden, alarm.
"It won’t work... child," the massive figure uttered, her voice resonating deeply, yet surprisingly gentle. "You are in my domain." Her words carried an inherent authority that brooked no argument. Even for Samuel.
Then, slowly, the massive female figure began a transformation. Her colossal form started to shrink, condensing. She continued to diminish in size until she became a human-sized woman, standing at a height easily conversed with. Her presence remained powerful, but her scale was no longer overwhelming towards Samuel.
Samuel looked around, his eyes moving rapidly, darting around the new environment. He quickly scanned the area, trying to understand where he was and where his lira and the others might be. The surroundings were unfamiliar, strangely calm...
"If you are looking for your comrades... they are safe," the woman stated, her voice calm and reassuring. "You will meet them shortly."
"Now, Son of Anarchy."
"Son of Anarchy?" Samuel questioned aloud, the title new and unexpected to him. He had never heard it before.
"It’s your name in the divine realm," she clarified. "You’re quite well known there." Her tone suggests a complex reputation...
"But not in a good way," she continued a slight shift in her expression. "Which is why they sent a cherubim... to kill you before you cause more havoc."
"That thing is a cherubim?" Samuel questioned internally, recalling the four-headed, four-winged creature that was in the skies. The divine terminology was new to him, and the creature’s appearance was far from what he might have imagined...
"You see... I am against it," she continued, reading his unspoken thought. "But with your current strength... I don’t think you can achieve your goal."
"Who are you?" Samuel questioned, his voice regaining some firmness, despite his confusion and lack of his weapon..."Aegirion."
"I am Solmira, the goddess of color. The ever-present mother of coloration, and I have watched you... become a powerful warrior. And I have been watching you through all the events that have happened since you came into this world..., but I can no longer simply watch... I will help you defeat... Luminara..."
"The Goddess of Chronokinesis..." Samuel uttered the name a bitter taste in his mouth.
"Arithmos wife." He thought internally...
"So she has been the one behind all of this?" Samuel questioned, his voice laced with the implication of all the suffering he had endured open till now...
"Yes," Solmira responded simply, a direct confirmation.
"I know I am moving in the path of vengeance. I know I will not get my happy ending... but I don’t care.... even if I die I will kill her and anyone who stands in my way." Samuel spoke with raw honesty and rage, expressing his grim acceptance of his fate...
"Not everyone has a happy ending," Solmira responded, her voice soft but firm. "But you can always create the illusion of one." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Samuel stood still, watching and listening intently, absorbing her words.
"Death is an escape, Samuel. You are a warrior of Arithmos... not a coward... only a coward accepts death." Her words were a direct challenge to his recent thoughts of surrender.
"I am not a coward," Samuel uttered, looking directly forward, his gaze hardening with renewed resolve.
"Then you will join me... and I will show you the way to the Daughters of Mercy... Only with their powers will you be able to defeat Luminara." Solmira’s proposal hung in the air, a clear path forward.
Samuel’s eyes locked onto hers, a moment of intense thoughts passing between them.
"So what will it be, child..." Solmira pressed gently.
"I accept," Samuel responded, his voice firm, his decision made.
After the brutal fight with the Black Knight, Samuel’s confidence had been severely lowered. He knew he was lacking in raw strength. He had not been able to defeat the Black Knight without resorting to the immense, ultimate power of "ASH TO ALL." This stark reality had shown him his limitations against truly powerful entities. He understood he needed more. He couldn’t face a goddess in his current state.
"Good... for now, rest. We will talk later..." Solmira replied.
In a matter of seconds, a group of maidens came into view, seemingly appearing out of thin air. They moved with femininity and grace...silence.
"Follow them. They will lead you to your resting area," Solmira instructed, gesturing toward the maidens.
Samuel felt a strange sense of nostalgia looking at these maidens and the surroundings.
The Blue-Crest Kingdom.
It was an almost exact replica of the hallway he walked with Emma... On the first day, they were summoned...
"deceit and lies..." he murmurs
He understood now, with absolute clarity, that he did not possess the current power or the raw essence to directly face a goddess like Luminara. He was outmatched.
"Follow us, Son of Anarchy," one of the maidens spoke, her voice soft and inviting....
