The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 536 - 537: Secretary VS Bodyguard
"A bodyguard? Naturally, they must protect Samara and be absolutely loyal!" Sienna Johnson said slowly.
Rosie Cooper said solemnly, "Madam, we three sisters will protect Second Miss with our lives!"
Sienna’s eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Rosie Cooper’s slightly dark face but didn’t make an immediate decision. After all, she was looking for a bodyguard for Samara, so she needed to be extremely cautious.
"You can leave first," Sienna told the bodyguards.
Rosie Cooper hesitated for a moment, disappointment flickering in her eyes. She pursed her lips without saying anything and left with her two sisters.
As she was about to leave, she glanced back at Sienna. Sienna wasn’t looking at her; she was gently wiping a beautiful little girl’s mouth, her expression tender. Rosie’s eyes gradually dimmed.
Everyone left, and the office became empty again.
Samara asked in confusion, "Sister, those three sisters seemed pretty good, and they’re about my age. Why didn’t you let them be my bodyguards?"
"Choosing people to be by your side requires careful judgment. If you believe what others say so easily, what if they have ulterior motives?"
Samara had her character flaws, but fortunately, she was self-aware and could take advice. That was why Sienna didn’t dislike her.
"I’ll listen to whatever you say, Sister. You can make the decisions for me."
This meant Samara was completely handing the responsibility of choosing a bodyguard over to her.
"Curly, there’s a toy store nearby. I’ll take you to buy some toys."
Samara had just been worrying about choosing a bodyguard. Now that the task was given to Sienna, she happily prepared to go play.
"Auntie, you’re so childish! You’re already fourteen, but you still want to play with toys all the time."
"Then what should I do?"
"At your age, you should be experiencing puppy love."
Sienna tapped her daughter on the head. I really need to keep Leanne Andrews away from Curly in the future, she thought. She’s corrupting her! "Don’t talk nonsense! Puppy love is wrong!"
Curly was speechless.
"Samara, you’re still too young. Right now, you need to study hard and definitely not get involved in puppy love, understand?"
Sienna took the opportunity to warn Samara, wanting to prevent her younger sister from encountering such things too early.
Samara was completely clueless about such matters and said obediently, "Okay, I understand, Sister. Whenever you tell me to find a boyfriend, I’ll find one. Whoever you tell me to marry, I’ll marry him..."
"Samara, that’s not what I mean..."
I’m not some feudal family head or a villainous mother-in-law from a TV drama, Sienna thought. How could I possibly decide who Samara marries?
The Johnson Family had no need for marriage alliances for business.
"When you grow up and are mature enough, if you meet a boy you like, who genuinely loves you and has good character, I will agree."
Hearing this, Brett Jacobs wanted to ask on Aaron Faber’s behalf: What if he’s older by about ten years? Would that be okay?
"Oh, as long as you decide, Sister, it’s fine."
Most people would want an obedient and sensible younger sister, Sienna mused. But our Samara is *too* obedient, *too* sensible. It’s quite troubling for me as her older sister.
"Samara, take Curly to play, but don’t go too far. We need to go to the hospital later to pick up Madam Johnson."
"Okay."
Samara struggled to lift Curly from the chair. "Curly, you’ve gained weight again."
"I didn’t gain weight! I grew taller! My pants are too short now..."
"Wow, you really did grow taller! Good job, Curly!"
"Auntie, you’re so childish."
Sienna watched them leave the office. After they left, the office fell quiet.
In the office, Brett Jacobs stood in front of Sienna Johnson, while Vivian Abbey stood behind her. Both were ready for Sienna’s instructions at any moment.
Sienna took out the file on the three sisters and read it in detail. Rosie Cooper was eighteen, and her two younger sisters were seventeen and fifteen, respectively. When Rosie was eight, their parents had been shot and killed by drug dealers in Himakati...
That Rosie Cooper seems very shrewd and clever, Sienna thought. It would be best for Samara to have someone intelligent by her side, but... I’m afraid she might have ulterior motives and use her cleverness for personal gain...
After finishing the file, Sienna voiced her concerns. This was also why she hadn’t made an immediate decision earlier.
"Madam, you can rest assured. Since Sixth Master brought them here for Samara to choose from, they are all trustworthy," Brett Jacobs said, addressing Sienna’s concerns.
"Then let’s go with the three sisters." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Yes, I’ll arrange it right away."
"Wait!" Sienna called out, stopping Brett Jacobs. He stood before her and asked respectfully, "Do you have any other instructions, Madam?"
"Also, pick out a few bodyguards for Curly."
Brett Jacobs looked at Sienna in surprise. "Madam, don’t you know? Sixth Master already arranged bodyguards for Curly long ago."
"Curly already has bodyguards?" But I’ve never seen them.
"Yes. The bodyguards for both you and Curly are top-tier experts, even more skilled than I am. Sixth Master personally selected them."
"So that’s how it is..." I also have bodyguards, Sienna recalled, one of them is named Tran. But I’ve never seen them.
Her heart warmed. That man had silently done so much for her and Curly.
"Sixth Master dotes on Curly so much; of course, he would assign bodyguards to protect her secretly," Brett Jacobs said.
"I understand. Go call Rosie Cooper over. I have something to ask her."
"Yes, Madam!"
Brett Jacobs turned and left the office. Sienna watched his imposing figure, then her gaze shifted to Vivian Abbey, her mind working.
Vivian Abbey brewed a cup of herbal tea, placed it in front of Sienna, and said, "President Johnson, please have some tea."
"Are you hungry? Shall I get you some pastries?"
"No need. I ate a lot at lunch, so I’m not hungry now."
Sienna paused for a moment, then said, "Brett Jacobs is a good man—mature and stable. And from what I know, he doesn’t have any messy romantic entanglements. What’s your impression of him?"
Vivian blinked. "What kind of impression?"
"I remember you’re twenty-nine this year, aren’t you?"
Vivian understood Sienna’s implication; she was trying to play matchmaker. Vivian didn’t respond immediately. Seeing this, Sienna asked, "Are you still thinking about Gary Fisher?"
"President Johnson, Secretary Fisher and I are just colleagues."
Sienna continued, "Brett Jacobs is one of Adrian Desmond’s men. I’ve asked Adrian about him, and Brett is a good person. He might be a bit aloof and serious, but he’s dependable and reliable. He doesn’t have any other relatives. If you’re thinking about getting married, you could consider him."
"He wouldn’t be interested in me..." Vivian murmured.
