The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 547 - 548: Leaving Alice Behind
"Bill, I have to go."
"Where are you going?"
Adrian Desmond looked over and saw that Alice’s eyes were red-rimmed. She bit her lip, as if to suppress her emotions. "Where can I go? Of course, I’m going back to the island. I’ll wait for the next mission and come out again. Until one day, when someone kills me, I’ll finally be free."
Adrian Desmond remained silent.
"I’m not like you; I’m not capable of escaping. My future is death! When I’m dead, I’ll be liberated," she said pessimistically.
Adrian Desmond was silent again.
"Goodbye, Bill!"
Alice looked at Adrian Desmond reluctantly, her eyes full of affection and unwillingness, then turned to leave. Adrian suddenly said, "Stay!"
Alice thought she was hallucinating and stared incredulously at the man in front of her. Just now, he was desperately trying to get rid of her, but now he was inviting her to stay. She couldn’t understand the man in front of her.
"What did you just say?"
Adrian gazed at the beautiful woman before him, recalling his dark memories. Even if he escaped far away, it would be futile. The mere sight of Alice would reassemble the images he wanted to forget.
"You were right. The hatred between me and Night Owl can only end when one of us dies. Since that’s the case, why not find myself a helper? You’ve been on the island for so many years; no one knows the situation there better than you do."
They used to be the most tacit partners, needing only a single glance to understand each other’s intentions. Alice stared into his eyes and asked, "You mean...?"
"Yes, that’s what I mean."
They both knew what the other was saying without saying it outright.
"How is that possible? Do you know how powerful Night Owl is now? How many top assassins does he have on the island? Bill, Death Island is not the same as it was ten years ago."
He replied, "Neither am I the same as I was ten years ago!"
Alice looked at him with great interest and asked curiously, "I heard them call you Sixth Master. Are you very powerful now? Powerful enough to confront Night Owl?"
"I don’t know who’s stronger between Night Owl and me, but even if I’m weaker, I have to fight Night Owl to defend my home!"
His cold eyes fixed on Alice as he said, "Alice, you can’t escape. If you want to leave Death Island, you can only cooperate with me."
He was once the best assassin on the island and the only one who had managed to escape Death Island and remain alive. Even so, he didn’t dare to be careless. No one knew the madness of Night Owl and his son better than he did.
No one knew how many layers Death Island had developed or how many assassins had been bred there in the past ten years, let alone how many of them were hidden, targeting the Johnson Family and ready to deliver a fatal blow at any moment.
"Bill, I’ll listen to you!"
"It’s Adrian Desmond! I don’t like the name Bill!" Adrian didn’t hide his dislike of the name.
Alice gave him a seductive smile, like a captivating, fragrant carnivorous flower. "Desmond..."
"I’ll find a place for you to stay."
"Okay," she agreed.
Adrian continued to walk forward without looking back, and Alice followed him. As she turned her head, she saw a beautiful woman standing by the window. The woman met Alice’s gaze and offered an icy smile. Sienna Johnson, Bill’s wife! Alice thought. What a formidable woman. Not only had she managed to marry a man like Bill, but she’d also successfully attracted Night Owl’s attention. I wonder what else she has to offer besides that pretty face.
A few steps later, Adrian suddenly stopped, turned around, and pointed his gun at Alice’s forehead. "Alice, if I find out that you and Night Owl are plotting against me, I won’t hesitate to kill you."
Without changing her expression, Alice stared at Adrian’s face with her shimmering, moist peach blossom eyes and smiled seductively. "Desmond, your habit of never trusting anyone hasn’t changed."
"That depends on whether you’re worth trusting or not!"
Adrian settled Alice in the front yard and handed her over to Brett Jacobs before returning to his and Sienna’s living quarters.
As Adrian entered, Sienna sat there with an icy stare, as if warning him to be honest or face her wrath.
"Why aren’t you sleeping yet?" He walked over and sat down beside her.
Sienna felt the mattress sink as Adrian’s presence washed over her.
"Who is that woman? Why did she come to our house in the middle of the night?" Sienna asked directly.
Adrian had never tried to hide anything from her. She was too smart. He might be able to deceive her temporarily, but with her intelligence, she would inevitably discover the truth. If she found out he had lied to her, his fate would usually be disastrous.
So, Adrian confessed, "Her name is Alice, and she used to be my partner. Now she’s going to stay at our place for a while."
"Partner? But the way she looks at you isn’t just as a partner. Your relationship in the past wasn’t simply that of partners, was it?"
"Just partners. I don’t care what she thinks; in my heart, she’s just my partner. As for now? Whether she’s an enemy or a friend, that still needs to be tested by time."
Adrian didn’t entirely trust Alice.
Sienna looked at Adrian, who was wearing the matching outfit she had bought for them. It was the same color and style, just different sizes.
In fact, their daughter Curly wanted a pink one, but considering Adrian preferred darker colors, Sienna chose black, with a design that Curly liked.
"Adrian, I won’t tolerate betrayal!"
"You’re overthinking it. In this world, no woman can take me away from you."
He grabbed her hand and kissed it. "I am yours, and you are mine. No one can separate us."
"I understand."
Since he’d said that much, Sienna knew that if she continued to question him and press the issue, she would seem petty. She chose to trust him.
Exhausted, Sienna lay down on the bed and closed her eyes, intending to sleep, but was instead pulled into a strong embrace.
"What? Going to sleep just like that and not interrogating me anymore? Honey, you’re just going to believe me so easily? I had a whole load of explanations prepared for you on my way back."
His hands roamed over her body, igniting passion everywhere they touched. The grim man from before had long vanished, replaced by a mischievous, ardent husband.
"I choose to trust you, but even if you deceive me, it doesn’t matter. We can just get a divorce. There are plenty of men pursuing me. It wouldn’t be too difficult to find a stepfather for our two children."
Adrian instantly became agitated and pinched her side fiercely. Sienna’s pain was intense; the pinch was definitely enough to leave a bruise.
