Chapter 560: Chapter 601: Teaching My Wife How to Play Cards

The Gulfstream G550 is an internationally renowned, top-tier long-range business jet. Reportedly, it boasts the longest range and largest cabin among all Gulfstream models. The latest model, priced at 67.5 million dollars, was one of Adrian Desmond’s private jets.

Since there were pregnant women, children, and elderly people on board, Adrian had specifically chosen this aircraft.

Sienna Johnson didn’t feel any discomfort on this particular flight, but the journey was quite long. Feeling bored, she walked over and sat in the seat her grandmother had previously occupied, facing Adrian, and suggested they play Mahjong.

"Let’s play a few rounds."

Adrian toyed with a Mahjong tile, a sly smile playing on his lips as he looked at her. No matter how one looked at it, that smile seemed ill-intentioned.

"What are we betting on?"

"Betting, betting, that’s all you think about!" Sienna grabbed a Mahjong tile and tossed it at him. "Don’t you know that nine out of ten gamblers lose? We’re playing Mahjong, no bets."

Adrian caught the tile she tossed—an Eight of Bamboos. "In that case, I’m not playing."

"Oh, come on, let’s play! Being on this plane is so boring."

"We won’t play Mahjong. Let’s play cards instead."

Sienna eyed him warily. "Why?"

"I remember when you were pregnant with Curly, I took you to Souththern. Weren’t you interested in learning some gambling skills back then? How about I teach you, free of charge?"

The man still remembered an event that happened so long ago.

"Then why learn cards? I’ve seen Olkgan gambling movies, and they all play cards. Is it because cards are easier to cheat with?"

Adrian gazed at Sienna with admiration. "That’s what I like about you, you’re quick."

"I have a deck right here." Adrian seemed to magically produce a deck of cards, tossing them onto the table.

"Ten cards. Five for you, five for me." Adrian dealt them out.

Sienna propped her chin on her hand and asked curiously, "So, how do we play?"

"We each get five cards. There’s only one King, one Slave, and the other three are Ministers. King against King, Minister against Minister, or Slave against Slave are all considered draws. If a Minister faces a King, the King wins. If a Minister faces a Slave, the Minister wins. The King owns the entire world, while the Slave has nothing, and therefore nothing to lose. So, if the Slave encounters the King, the Slave wins." Adrian explained the game rules to her.

"In other words, we can win, lose, or draw. If you win, you can have me do anything you want."

"What if I lose?"

She knew this man. He had no good intentions in dragging her into this card game. Sienna wouldn’t fall into Adrian’s trap.

"Naturally, it means I can do whatever I want *to you*..." he whispered, his voice low enough for only the two of them to hear.

Sienna kicked him sharply under the table. Her belly was already showing, yet this pervert only seemed more excited, pestering her every night. He would draw things out slowly, making her increasingly uncomfortable.

"Alright, fine," Adrian said. "How about this: whether *you* win or *you* lose, you can do whatever you want to *me*, okay?"

She glared at him with her beautiful eyes. "That’s more like it."

A few rounds later, Sienna was losing badly.

Adrian wasn’t just winning by a small margin; his victories were overwhelming. He completely ignited Sienna’s competitive spirit.

"Teach me!"

Adrian chuckled. "I do charge tuition, you know!"

"You can have your way tonight!"

He grinned mischievously. "Have my way... however I want?"

"There’s a son in my belly, so you figure out how to manage!"

"Deal!"

"Now watch my hands."

Adrian’s hands were beautiful—slender and nimble. Unlike the gambling movies Sienna had seen, Adrian shuffled almost silently. He didn’t place the cards on his shoulder to shuffle; instead, his pinky and index fingers would flex and extend in an almost imperceptible manner.

"Tell me what card you want, and I’ll deal it to you," Adrian declared confidently.

"Ace of Spades."

And Adrian actually produced an Ace of Spades.

Intrigued, Sienna said, "The Ten of Diamonds."

Adrian produced that too. Sienna named several more cards, and Adrian accurately dealt every single one.

"How did you do that?"

"Memory!"

"Your memory can’t possibly be better than mine!" Sienna had been an excellent student and a quick study when it came to memorization back in her school days.

"To master gambling, you first need to learn how to shuffle. I can take a messy deck and arrange it by suit and rank in just 39.28 seconds. But that’s the easiest of my skills."

"..."

"It’s the same with Mahjong. After I shuffle the 144 tiles, if someone picks one, I can guess what it is with 100% accuracy."

"..."

"Real gambling skill isn’t about specific cheating techniques; anyone can learn those with enough training. I memorize all the cards in seconds by relying on sharp eyesight, quick memory, and practiced hands.

Being highly skilled at cards doesn’t guarantee a win.

My Cheating Technique is very advanced. It allows me to tell if an opponent is cheating. And before dealing with a cheater, I can swap out their cards."

"Cover them with your hand," Adrian told Sienna. "Then look. They’ll have changed into two nines."

Filled with doubt and curiosity, Sienna did as he said. Sure enough... "They really are two nines! How did you do that?"

She scratched at the numbers on the cards. They were real.

"How did you do this?"

"...After a performance of mine in Souththern, a man in his sixties approached me backstage. He said he’d been playing cards since he was a child and had never seen such clean, efficient technique. We hit it off immediately. He told me, ’I have an ultimate trick. Look at these two cards.’ Then he had me cover them with my hand. When I uncovered them, both cards had changed completely."

"So you learned from him?"

"Yes."

"Adrian, your first pot of gold... it wasn’t from gambling, was it?"

Adrian laughed and returned to the story. "I was curious and wanted to learn from him, but he flatly refused. So, I followed him home, then paid him a visit with gifts of good wine and cigarettes. The old man finally agreed to teach me. After learning that trick, my Cheating Technique truly reached a new level."

"..."

Adrian said, "Card switching, in essence, is all the same. The difference lies in the skill of the execution."

Sienna leaned forward, her face alight with curiosity, which gave Adrian a distinct sense of satisfaction. "Have you seen *God of Gamblers*? The one starring that Brazilian actress, Olkgan?"

"I have. I was obsessed with gambling skills back then and even did some research. In the movie, when Olkgan supposedly changes one card into another by covering it? That’s just sleight of hand.

If it were really that easy, she could just change them into Westorian Dollars!

The first card she used was pieced together from several strips; I saw it very clearly. When she tossed the deck into the air and caught the Ace of Spades, I saw a thread attached to it. And when she did those fancy maneuvers, pulling cards with both hands? One of those hands was a double’s, because it kept changing size and appearance."
