The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 617 - 658: Saving Husband at His Doorstep
"Sienna, why are you here? Didn’t I tell you to go back to the island?" Adrian Desmond couldn’t bear to scold Sienna Johnson. He could only cast a blaming gaze at Brett Jacobs and Tatu for their incompetence.
Both of them felt wronged. Sienna was so stubborn that even their Sixth Master couldn’t handle her, let alone them.
The two wisely kept their heads down and remained silent.
Sienna Johnson didn’t say a word when she entered. She looked at Adrian Desmond. Half of his face was covered in blood, and his clothes were stained red. If she hadn’t come today, this man might have bled to death.
Did he think he had some sort of cheat code to replenish his health and level up? Or could he, like his uncle, revive after death?
Sienna approached the doctor, took the medical kit from the table beside him, and led Adrian Desmond to the couch. She pressed him down onto it, opened the medical kit, and began treating his injuries as if no one else was there.
"Why are you here? Didn’t I tell you to go back to the island?" Adrian Desmond’s voice was low and tinged with displeasure.
Sienna glanced at him, her expression cool, and Adrian Desmond instantly felt his confidence waver.
What’s going on? He was actually afraid of this woman!
Sienna ignored the superficial wounds on his body, focusing instead on the two large, bleeding gashes on his head. Whoever did this must have been ruthless to inflict two such deep wounds.
Sienna wondered if Mr. Carpenter was truly his blood uncle.
Sienna first disinfected her hands, then sprinkled hemostatic powder on his wounds. She watched as the powder combined with the clotting factors in his blood, staunching the flow.
Seeing the bleeding stop, Sienna breathed a sigh of relief. She used tweezers to hold a cotton swab and clean the area around one wound. The other wound was larger and required stitches.
"This wound is too large. I need to stitch it up. There’s no anesthetic, so you’ll have to bear with it."
"It’s fine. It doesn’t hurt."
She said sarcastically, "Who is the Sixth Master anyway? How could a little pain like this possibly bother him?"
After the bleeding was controlled and the wound disinfected, Sienna began to sew it up, one stitch at a time.
The room was eerily silent. Everyone watched as the beautiful woman stitched his flesh with the same composure she might mend clothes. In the profound quiet, the sound of the needle piercing skin was amplified, sending shivers down spines.
"Are you angry?"
Despite the lack of anesthetic, Adrian Desmond seemed to feel no pain, as if the needle wasn’t piercing his own skin.
"I’m going back to Sileria City today!"
She really was angry!
Adrian Desmond suddenly grasped Sienna’s hand tightly. Gritting his teeth, he said, "I forbid it!"
After sewing the last stitch, Sienna’s hands were covered in blood; even the crevices of her normally rosy nails were stained red. She looked at Adrian Desmond and sneered, "If I hadn’t come today, Sixth Master, do you have any idea what your fate would have been?"
"..."
"You would have bled to death!"
"No, I’m not that fragile!"
"Don’t think of yourself as some indestructible force. Human life is fragile. If you don’t cherish your own, you probably won’t live long."
That was a blatant curse against their Sixth Master. Only this woman dared to be so insolent.
"Go back to the island first. We can talk about whatever it is when we return," Adrian Desmond said placatingly, holding her hand, which was now covered in his blood.
"Everyone is here now. We might as well get things out in the open."
"..."
"Let go of me!"
"I won’t!"
"I need to give you a glucose and a tetanus shot!"
Only then did Adrian Desmond release Sienna. From the well-stocked medical kit, Sienna took out the two injections and administered them to him.
The glucose was to replenish his energy; after all, losing so much blood was no trivial matter.
After administering the injections, Sienna checked the wound on his forehead again. Seeing it was no longer bleeding, she wrapped his head with clean gauze.
Once everything was done, Sienna had someone return the medical kit to the doctor, who looked utterly speechless.
"You’re quite something, to even know medicine," Elliot Carpenter remarked.
"Not as impressive as you, Mr. Carpenter. If I hadn’t come today, he would likely have bled to death by now."
"If he’s that fragile, then his death wouldn’t be a pity," Elliot Carpenter said coldly. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Is that so? Your daughter spends all day crying and threatening suicide. By your logic, would it be fine if she died too?" Sienna retorted sharply.
"Insolence! Who do you think you are, speaking so wildly in my presence?" Elliot Carpenter chided, shocked that this woman dared to be so brazen before him.
However, Sienna Johnson was not afraid of Elliot Carpenter.
"I am Adrian Desmond’s wife! You beat my husband into this state, and you expect me not to even make a peep?" Sienna practically spat, her words coarse.
"Sienna—"
"You shut up!"
Adrian Desmond’s men immediately bowed their heads, lowering them as much as possible. They didn’t want to witness their boss being berated by his wife. As his most loyal subordinates, they felt obligated to preserve some dignity for their boss.
"I ask you, why did you beat my husband like this?" Sienna directly challenged Elliot Carpenter.
"On what grounds? Because I’m his uncle! Because I’ve shown him kindness in the past!"
"Kindness? Can your kindness be greater than that of the parents who birthed and raised him? Even his parents wouldn’t beat him to death! Yet you, an uncle of a different surname, presume on your seniority to nearly kill him? You’re bullying him for being an orphan, aren’t you?"
"You sharp-tongued woman! I won’t lower myself to argue with you!" Elliot Carpenter hadn’t expected Sienna Johnson to be so difficult to deal with.
"Is it that you won’t stoop to my level, or that you can’t win an argument against me?"
"..."
Melanie Carpenter yelled, "Mai, get out! Get out of my house!"
Melanie Carpenter glared at Sienna Johnson, her eyes practically shooting flames. The last time she had seen Sienna was at her wedding to Adrian Desmond. She hadn’t expected her to be pregnant again so soon.
If her gaze were a knife, it would have long since sliced open Sienna’s belly and killed the child inside.
"My name is Sienna Johnson. Can’t you remember that, Melanie Carpenter?"
"Sienna Johnson, just get out!"
"I’ll leave when I’m done saying what I need to say! And after we leave, Adrian Desmond and I will not be setting foot in this house again!" This relationship as relatives was clearly over.
"You don’t need to visit, but my Sixth Brother can still come!"
Sienna Johnson laughed coldly. "You nearly beat him to death, and you still want him to visit? So you can beat him up again? Does Adrian Desmond look like he enjoys being abused?"
Adrian Desmond: ...
"Melanie Carpenter, you’re always claiming to love Adrian Desmond, aren’t you? He’s been beaten to this state, so what are you doing? Lying in bed, playing the weak damsel? Or are you scheming, hoping to use your father to pressure Adrian Desmond into marrying you?"
"Have you no shame? You’re a hypocrite, saying one thing and doing another! You claim to love Adrian Desmond, yet you hooked up with his best friend and had a son with him. Then you even tried to pin that child on Adrian Desmond! How utterly shameless can you be!"
