The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 651 - 692: Forced Marriage, Cook for Me for a Lifetime
"I trust Sienna to handle things," the Old Lady said.
It was just a pity that Sienna was not a son, a fact the Old Lady regretted deep down. However, she was an open-minded person. She felt relieved that the Johnson family’s prestige had been upheld. Curly still carried the Johnson surname, and if worse came to worst, they could always find a live-in son-in-law. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Sienna humbly responded, "I’m still young, and there’s so much I don’t understand. Grandma, you still have to guide me."
"Alright, alright. As long as this old woman is alive, I will continue to contribute what I can," she said.
The Old Lady looked at her granddaughter, who had become gentle and tender after getting married. She knew this was the look of a happy life, and it warmed her old heart.
Her granddaughter had experienced so much hardship; now, she had found a good home and a happy life.
Thinking of Sabrina Johnson, who was still in prison, the Old Lady believed that heaven is fair.
A person’s fortune, prosperity, and longevity are all predestined. If something isn’t part of your destined blessings, enjoying it will diminish your fortune—just like Sabrina, still in prison.
Everyone had more or less finished eating, but one person showed no signs of being full.
All eyes were on Shade Jervois.
It wasn’t just because Shade was very handsome—everyone in the Johnson and Desmond families was good-looking. People were staring at Shade because he had eaten an entire bucket of rice.
Could it be that the term "rice bucket" originated from something like this?
"Adrian, is it a problem for him to eat this much?" Sienna asked worriedly.
Breakfast was Orienta style. The Old Lady liked millet porridge, shrimp dumplings, buns, and cold dishes for breakfast, so everyone’s breakfast followed her preferences.
The Old Lady kindly took the shrimp dumplings from her plate and placed them in front of Shade. "Eat slowly. If it’s not enough, I’ll have them make more," she said.
"Grandma, don’t encourage him to eat more. I’m really afraid he’ll overeat," Sienna said.
"It’s a blessing to have a good appetite. Watching this child eat brightens my mood too," the Old Lady said.
After coming to Abyanabad, the Old Lady’s spirits had improved considerably. Now, she was even learning swordplay and martial arts with the Master on the island. Sienna was quite frightened when she first saw it.
They invited a doctor to examine the Old Lady. He said it was fine for her to practice swordplay and martial arts, as long as it was limited to an hour a day. Only then did Sienna feel at ease.
Kathryn had also been brought to the island by Sienna to take care of the Old Lady’s daily needs.
The Old Lady looked utterly content, as if she had forgotten all her cares.
"Shade is a big eater; he can really pack it away. You don’t need to worry about him. Just let him eat as much as he wants," Adrian explained.
The Old Lady looked at Shade and said, "Sienna, if you could give the Johnson family a son who eats as heartily as young Shade and is just as healthy, I would be truly content."
Sienna watched Shade devour his food. Imagining her own son holding such a large bowl and eating like that made her shudder. "Grandma, that’s just... an incredible amount to eat..."
Pauline Briggs also kept offering Shade food. Pauline was an excellent cook. She mixed rice with cold dishes, chili sauce, and seasonings, creating an aroma that wafted towards Sienna. Shade was eating Pauline’s mixed rice.
"Are you full? If not, I can have the kitchen make more," Pauline asked with concern.
Samara was also shocked by Shade’s appetite.
Shade’s breakfast alone was enough to feed Samara for a week!
Shade gulped down another bowl of soup, then finally burped and nodded, acknowledging he was full.
Adrian laughed. "That’s quite something. In all the years I’ve known him, this is the first time I’ve heard him say he’s full."
Shade was a big eater, but also a picky one. When he said he was full, it had two meanings: first, he was genuinely full, and second, the food was delicious.
Shade glanced at everyone at the table and reached into his pocket. Adrian instantly became alert, his hand on the table clenching into a fist.
"Your food is good. This is payment for the meal. I’ll be back tomorrow!" What Shade pulled from his pocket was a necklace with a large ruby—a huge pigeon-blood ruby.
"This? For me?"
Shade nodded. "Payment for the meal."
Pauline took it and examined it. She knew her gems; this ruby was clearly genuine and incredibly valuable. She returned it to Shade and laughed, "A ruby like this? I’d have to cook for you for several lifetimes to earn it."
"Until I die!"
Though Shade’s words were brief, Pauline understood his meaning: He wanted her to cook for him for the rest of his life.
Pauline stuffed the necklace back into Shade’s hand. "Go on now! I’m old enough to be your mother. How could I possibly cook for you for a lifetime? You should find yourself a wife. I can teach her my cooking skills, and she can cook for you for a lifetime."
Shade looked at the ruby in his hand, carefully considering Pauline’s words, apparently weighing the feasibility of her suggestion.
Samara interjected, "With an appetite like that, any woman who marries him would be exhausted from cooking for him every day!"
"Who are you?" Shade asked, looking at Samara.
"Samara," she replied with a smile.
"Is she your daughter?" Shade asked Pauline, noting their resemblance.
"Yes, she’s my daughter."
"Can she cook?"
Just as Pauline was about to answer, Samara, a sudden idea striking her, quickly interjected, "I can’t cook!"
Pauline’s mind didn’t work as quickly as her daughter’s. She immediately exposed Samara’s lie. "Why are you lying? You obviously know how to cook, so why say you can’t?"
It’s not god-like opponents one should fear, but pig-like teammates. At that moment, Samara was suddenly reminded of this saying.
Shade looked at Samara, stood up, walked over to her, and pressed the ruby into her hand.
"I don’t want it!"
The ruby felt like a hot potato in Samara’s hand; she nearly threw it away.
"I’ve given you the ruby. Now you have to cook for me for a lifetime!" Shade declared domineeringly.
"I don’t want to!"
"Refuse, and I’ll kill you!"
The Old Lady chuckled, thinking Shade was joking. But when Shade actually pulled out a gun and pressed it against Samara’s forehead, no one could deceive themselves any longer: he wasn’t joking.
"Marry or not?"
Samara had never had a gun pointed at her in her entire life. The cold barrel and the emotionless man terrified her...
"Alright then, I’ll kill you!"
"Stop!" Sienna cried, lunging to snatch the gun from Shade’s hand, but he shoved her aside, and she nearly fell.
Adrian, with his quick reflexes, caught Sienna, preventing her from getting hurt. He glared disapprovingly at the reckless Shade.
"Adrian, you have to stop him!" Sienna urged anxiously.
Adrian picked up the wooden bucket of mixed rice and said to Shade, "Put the gun down, or I’ll dump all this delicious mixed rice into the toilet."
Sienna’s mouth twitched. How could Adrian be so childish? A life is at stake, and he still has the heart to joke!
"Adrian, stop messing around! Just get the gun away from him!" Sienna said urgently.
