The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 673 - 714: Confessed to, So Angry That My Stomach Hurts
Sienna Johnson snorted coldly. She found this utterly ridiculous. What is this? Is he blatantly hitting on me, a married woman? Does this man have no shame?
"Night Owl, were you just confessing your feelings to me?"
Night Owl hesitated, finding it difficult to speak. He had never fallen in love with any woman before, let alone confessed his love. Truthfully, for him to even tacitly admit he liked her took a great deal of courage.
Seeing his continued silence, his reluctance to answer, Sienna scoffed, her voice laced with sarcasm. "Don’t tell me you fell in love with me at first sight, and then love blossomed on our second meeting, to the point where you’re now hopelessly smitten. Haha..."
Night Owl’s face instantly darkened. Proud as I am, I’ve always been the one pursued by throngs of women declaring their love for me, he fumed internally. When did I ever stoop to confessing my love to a woman? This is the first time in my life I’ve confessed to a woman, and not only did I fail to move her, I actually received such malicious mockery!
"...Last time, you used me as a human shield for a bullet without hesitation. I really can’t believe you love me. If it’s not love, then it must be because of Adrian Desmond. You simply want to steal Adrian Desmond’s woman to strike at him, to humiliate him... Your ’love’ for Adrian is truly profound, isn’t it? You spare no effort in relentlessly targeting him."
"What if I said I really have fallen in love with you? What would you do then?" he probed cautiously, as if treading on thin ice.
Sienna couldn’t see his face, but she could vividly imagine his expression. A furrowed brow, a hint of reluctance, looking rather awkward. Even if it’s just a hypothetical, saying those words must have wounded Night Owl’s pride.
"The thing I hate most is hypotheticals! Didn’t you say you don’t have a heart? Is your heart artificial? If a man doesn’t even have a heart, what right does he have to talk about affection or love?"
"Answer me!" Night Owl demanded.
"I really don’t know how to answer you. However, I’ve heard you’re quite the philanderer. You should have more experience in this area than I do. When those fawning women, your ’bosom buddies,’ tell you they’ve fallen for you, how do you respond?"
"Sienna Johnson, stop trying to fob me off with those words! I am not like those vain women who are only after my power and status!" Night Owl suddenly flew into a rage.
Initially, he had worried that if Sienna Johnson knew he liked her, she might become arrogant and take his affection for granted. Now, however, he was incensed because she clearly didn’t care for his affection at all. This unappreciative woman!
"You are a very interesting woman. I find that the more I learn about you, the more captivated I become. It wasn’t love at first sight; my feelings for you developed over time." His expression turned grave, his tone becoming incredibly solemn. "Alright, although it’s somewhat demeaning, I admit I’ve fallen for you. Leave Adrian Desmond. Be my woman!"
He’s clearly confessing, yet he sounds as if he’s bestowing a great favor, as if him falling for me is some incredible stroke of luck for me, while for him, it’s an act of condescension.
"Why aren’t you saying anything?"
What am I supposed to say? Sienna thought. That his words have left me too angry to speak?
"I’m sorry, but I am a person with a moral compass. As a married woman, I would absolutely not engage in flirtatious behavior or get involved with other men. Night Owl, I don’t know if you’ve got a screw loose or if you’re just toying with me, but please don’t say such things again. I don’t care whether you’re telling the truth or not, I will not accept it!"
"Am I that bad? You don’t have even the slightest feeling for me?"
"You’re great! An eligible bachelor from Abyanabad, admired by all, so charming that flowers might bloom in your wake. Your charm is irresistible. The line of women who like you could probably stretch from Abyanabad to the North Pole," Sienna said perfunctorily, just wanting to end this unpleasant conversation as quickly as possible.
"So, are you in that line stretching from Abyanabad to the North Pole?" he asked, in what he clearly thought was a humorous tone. "I’ll let you cut in line."
"Night Owl!" Sienna was at the end of her rope. "I am married! Adrian and I are deeply in love. He loves me very much; in his heart and eyes, there’s only me. And I love him; in my heart and eyes, there’s only him. So, it’s impossible for me to be in your queue. Understand?"
"You didn’t have Adrian in your heart and eyes from the start, but you fell in love with him later, didn’t you? Women are all fickle. A woman’s heart is like the sea, with its ebbs and flows, ever changing. So, as long as I persist, sooner or later, I will be the only one in your heart and eyes!"
"..."
"Anything Adrian can do for you, I can do too! That dog our family kept is utterly beneath you!" Night Owl’s eyes blazed with fire; he was on the verge of erupting.
"You’re the dog! A rabid dog!" Sienna yelled back at him.
Adrian Desmond was her husband, the man she loved deeply. This man repeatedly called Adrian a dog. Sienna couldn’t bear it any longer and shot back.
"If I’m a dog, then you’re a bitch. I’ll mount you sooner or later! Heh heh..."
Sienna’s stomach clenched with a dull ache, a result of the fury Night Owl’s words had ignited.
"You psycho!" Sienna moved to hang up, but Night Owl warned her, "Don’t you dare hang up the phone! Otherwise, I’ll go after your precious daughter!"
"..."
"I don’t like it when people hang up on me! You’d better remember that!" Night Owl warned.
Sienna took several deep breaths, trying to calm herself. The dull ache in her stomach intensified slightly, all thanks to that shameless man.
"Alright, let’s not argue. I called because I wanted to tell you: I’ve realized I’ve fallen in love with you. I want you! Leave Adrian Desmond and come to my side! Whatever Adrian Desmond can give you, I can give you. And whatever he cannot give you, I can also give you!" Night Owl commanded.
"I am already married and have no intention of divorcing!" she replied, her voice like ice.
"So what? As long as I want you, even if you were the Sultan of Abyanabad’s woman, I’d still drag you into my bed!" Night Owl boasted, his arrogance knowing no bounds.
"You’re being outrageous! What if I took a fancy to your father and told him to divorce your mother? How would you feel then?"
"My father is already dead. Adrian Desmond killed him! If he were still alive, and you had what it takes, I wouldn’t mind you becoming my stepmother. But even if you were my stepmother, I’d still fuck you!"
"Shameless!" Sienna was beyond words. She panted angrily, utterly speechless.
"I know you’re very possessive and don’t allow your man to have other women. I promise you, if you become my woman, I will cut off ties with every other woman."
"..."
"The only reason I was such a womanizer before, juggling so many women, was because I hadn’t met you yet. If I had met you earlier, you would have been my one and only. You even have to take responsibility for that messy romantic history of mine! Where have you been all these years? Why did you only show up in front of me now?"
Sienna was so stunned she actually laughed, a laugh born of pure fury at his audacity in twisting logic to blame her. So, after all that, it turns out to be my fault?
