The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 684 - 725: Playing Kickball with the Baby
Getting too close to a cliff is dangerous; the safest way is to stay away from it.
After weighing the pros and cons, Sienna Johnson finally gave up. "Forget it, I’ll find another way."
She couldn’t afford to provoke the Kalare pirates, and she wouldn’t foolishly count on good luck to protect her should she venture to Kalare and risk encountering them.
Adrian Desmond pinched her nose and teased, "Look at how timid you’ve become. Where’s the courage you had when you used to run away repeatedly?"
"How is that the same?"
"Considering your good performance today, I’ll help you handle the bird’s nest issue."
"No, don’t. Don’t bother with the bird’s nest thing anymore. You’re going to Kalare for important business, which I can’t stop you from doing. But you still need to be careful. Don’t eat things carelessly; who knows if there’s poison in them? And if women throw themselves at you, you must resist the temptation. Who knows if they’ll stab you in your sleep once you’re sound asleep?
Lust is a dagger poised over a man’s head; many men die at the hands of women..."
The air was still filled with the lingering scent of their lovemaking, mixed with the unique body fragrance that Sienna emitted when aroused. Adrian took a deep breath, as if addicted to it.
As Sienna rambled on with her warnings, she saw Adrian staring at her and thought he found her annoying. "Alright, alright, I’ll stop talking, so you won’t find me annoying!"
Adrian stood up and adjusted his casual clothes. He had a bewitching gaze, and his messy black hair remained defiantly untamed.
"I don’t find you annoying. I just feel... very happy... that you care about me so much. And, your jealousy is quite something..."
"You’re my husband, so what’s wrong with me being jealous? Besides me, I won’t let you touch any other woman. If you dare sleep with another woman, I’ll dare to sleep with other men! For every woman you sleep with, I’ll sleep with just as many men!"
"Outrageous!" Adrian wouldn’t allow her to make such jokes.
She had figured out Adrian’s temper by now and knew this was the time to smooth things over. "Oh, I was just kidding.
Sixth Master already has me, a wife who can topple cities and states, whom everyone loves, and for whom flowers bloom. How could those common powders and rouges even compare?"
"Could you be any more narcissistic?"
This time, Sienna’s expression soured, and she frowned coldly. "Sixth Master, have you ever seen a woman more beautiful than me?"
"You’re the most beautiful, alright?"
"Not alright! Your expression was too perfunctory just now. Say it again!"
"How about I show you with my actions?" His gaze seemed to hook hers, his peach-blossom eyes brimming with flirtation. This rogue, he wanted to take advantage of her again.
"No need, I believe you!"
"HAHA..."
"...Adrian, don’t laugh; I was serious just now. I actually don’t want you to go to Kalare at all. But since you have to go for important business, you must be careful once you’re there.
Swords have no eyes. Don’t think you’re so skilled that you can afford to be careless..."
"Why do you care so much about me?" Adrian’s heart felt warm, and the smile never left his face.
"You’re my man, of course I care about you."
Sienna stood in front of him, buttoning up his shirt. "They say, ’A house full of children is no match for a loving spouse by your side.’ I still need Sixth Master to support me for the rest of my life, so Sixth Master must be careful in all things and live to be a hundred."
"It’s good that you know. After our son is born, I should still be the one you love the most. I am yours; your son is raised for another woman."
Adrian was worried that after their son was born, his status in the family would be reduced to that of a "third wheel," so he took the opportunity to brainwash Sienna.
"I know, I know. I love you the most. Everyone else has to step aside!"
...
"OUCH..." Sienna suddenly cried out in pain.
Adrian placed his hand on Sienna’s stomach. "What’s wrong? Did he kick you again?"
"It must be because of our conversation just now; he’s not happy."
"This kid’s temper is too much! No, I have to teach him a good lesson!" After saying that, the man leaned his head closer, and before long, Adrian was heard crying out "OUCH" as well.
"What happened?"
"Your son just kicked me hard, right in the eye! He really doesn’t hold back. He’s definitely your son!"
"Doesn’t hold back? Isn’t that something he got from you? I’m not as ruthless as Sixth Master!"
"I might be ruthless, but that’s only towards others. With you, I’ve always been very gentle. You and your son are the same; you’re only ruthless to me. You know I’m easy to bully, so you keep bullying me."
"So what if I bully you? What are you going to do about it?"
"Nothing. If you two want to bully me, go ahead."
Adrian pressed his face against Sienna’s stomach, listening intently. "He’s really kicking up a storm, kicked me right in the face. It really hurts..."
"HAHA, you brought it on yourself, getting kicked by our son! Serves you right!" Sienna adjusted her stance to make herself more comfortable.
"Does he kick like this all day?"
"He often kicks around for fun. He’s sure to be a lively one when he’s born." It’s good for boys to be a bit mischievous.
"With your delicate skin, it must hurt a lot when he kicks you like that."
"He recognizes people."
Adrian didn’t believe such a young child could recognize people, but in every mother’s eyes, her child is unique and the most perfect in the world.
There’s a saying: ’Other people’s wives are better, but your own children are best.’
In their family, however, his wife was best, his children were best, and other people’s husbands were best!
"When he kicks me, it’s gentle. If he wants to play with me, he’ll give me a light kick, and I’ll play along with him. He’s so interesting. Wherever I put my hand, he kicks there..." Sienna demonstrated for Adrian, caressing her stomach. "Look, he’s moving again..."
...
"Did you see the baby moving inside my belly? He’s being naughty again, kicking my right hand,"
"Really?"
Wherever Sienna placed her hand, the baby would indeed kick that exact spot with remarkable precision.
"My son is so smart!"
Adrian watched, stunned, as a large bump formed. "Son, stop kicking! You’re going to kick through your mom’s belly!"
"He’s just playing; don’t disturb him."
"What about Curly? She’s a girl. When she was in your belly, was she this mischievous too?"
They held hands. When Sienna was pregnant with Curly, Adrian’s greatest regret was not having been with her throughout the entire pregnancy, not waiting outside the delivery room while she gave birth.
He always felt that without a father’s care nearby, children would feel lonely. Adults felt that way too. Even just hearing his voice or having him to talk to would make a difference.
The greatest happiness is watching your own child be born and grow. Therefore, he poured all the regrets he had concerning Curly onto this child.
Although he often badmouthed his son, the little one didn’t seem to like him much. Whenever Adrian placed his hand on Sienna’s belly, the baby would kick him fiercely, as if venting his dissatisfaction.
It was just as Sienna had said: the baby really seemed to recognize people. It was magical.
