The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 707 - 748: Little George Arrives, Curly Runs
"Do I need to know?" Na Puyi dismissed Kiya.
"I’m Paige’s husband!" Kiya emphasized his identity.
Na Puyi looked at Paige Desmond and asked in the tone of a husband who had caught his wife cheating, "Your husband? What’s going on? Are you having an affair?"
"Let’s go. I have a lot more to talk to you about." Paige naturally embraced his arm and led him away. This scene pierced Kiya’s heart.
"Paige, who is this man?" Kiya questioned, his eyes flashing with the pain of betrayal.
Paige didn’t want to pay him any attention and cruelly said, "Who he is, do I have to tell you?"
"Paige, I’m your husband! Don’t think that just because the judge ruled for our divorce, we’re actually divorced! I’m telling you, I don’t accept it! You can forget about leaving me and marrying another man!"
"..."
"Paige, don’t push me. If you push me too far, we’ll take each other down!"
Paige Desmond looked at Kiya with an expression he found utterly unfamiliar. Kiya was much older than her, mature and steady, like a brother, or even a father figure. They had been married for many years, and this was the first time she had seen Kiya so agitated and out of control.
"Did you marry him?" Na Puyi asked.
"Yes, but we’re divorced now."
"All these years, I’ve kept myself pure for you. Many beautiful women wanted to give their first night to me, but for your sake, I rejected them all."
Paige Desmond glared at Na Puyi. She knew this man was as much of a liar as he’d been in his childhood.
"Sister-in-law, let’s go. I’ll introduce you to a few people."
Before leaving, Paige Desmond took Sienna Johnson and Curly with her, and of course, Na Puyi.
Kiya stared at Paige Desmond’s retreating figure, standing there, hoping she would look back at him, even for just a moment... If she just looks back, I’ll forgive her, he told himself. However, in the end, Paige Desmond didn’t look back, not even a single glance.
How cruel a woman’s heart can be! A chill went through him.
"Your Highness, someone has noticed you. We should go back," Gary reminded him.
But Kiya didn’t move, just staring in the direction Paige Desmond had disappeared, like a statue.
A woman came over, looking at Kiya uncertainly. "Excuse me, are you... Your Highness?" she asked hesitantly.
Kiya ignored her, turned around, and strode away from the birthday party. He even bumped into several people on his way out but didn’t bother to apologize.
Gary and Gavin, the two brothers, hurriedly followed.
「...」
A few people walked out to the small garden. Since everyone was currently in the main hall, this area was practically deserted.
Paige Desmond looked at Na Puyi and asked, "Didn’t your whole family emigrate? Why did you come back to the country?"
"I came back for you."
Sienna Johnson observed the two. They didn’t seem like childhood sweethearts; rather, they were more like a pair of old friends who understood each other perfectly.
"Oh? Don’t tell me that after all these years, you’ve realized I’m the one you love, that you can’t live without me."
Just as Na Puyi was about to speak, Paige Desmond continued, "I’d vomit!"
"Hey, what on earth is going on? Even if you don’t fancy me, you shouldn’t have picked a man old enough to be your father, should you? I know Uncle Desmond passed away early, and you might have a father complex, but you didn’t need to find a man who could actually be your father, right?"
"Na Puyi, can you not be so dramatic? Kiya is older than me, but not *that* much older." He made it sound as if she’d married an old geezer.
Curly couldn’t sit still and tugged at her mother’s clothes. "Mommy, I want to go play," she said.
Sienna Johnson said, "Paige, you two talk. I’ll take Curly for a walk."
Remembering her promise to her brother, Paige Desmond stood up as well. "I’ll go with you."
"You and Mr. Na finally met. You must have a lot to say. I’ll be fine accompanying her."
"But..."
"I have a bodyguard with me; it’s fine."
"Sister-in-law, I’ll come find you later," Paige Desmond said, still worried.
"Okay."
Sienna Johnson led Curly away. Paige Desmond was still staring at Sienna Johnson’s retreating figure when Na Puyi waved his hand in front of her face.
"Snap out of it!"
"Do you have anything else to say to me? If not, I’m going to find my sister-in-law." Paige Desmond didn’t feel at ease leaving the pregnant Sienna Johnson alone. If anything happened to Sienna Johnson, her brother would surely hold her responsible.
"Yes, of course, I have a ton of things to tell you."
"Then say it."
"Marriage really ages a person. You’ve gotten old."
Paige Desmond: ...
「...」
"Mommy, I’m so hungry."
"Come on, I’ll take you to get something to eat."
"Okay."
Sienna Johnson and Curly were quite eye-catching. Everywhere they went, people cast inquisitive glances their way. Sienna Johnson responded to those gazes with a calm, serene smile.
"Mommy, why do they keep looking at you?"
"Oh, because I’m too beautiful."
Curly furrowed her little brow, looked at her mother, and snorted. "Mommy, narcissism is a disease!"
"Curly!"
"..."
"Curly, it’s really you!"
Curly had been holding her mother’s hand, planning to go to the Self-Service Dining Area for food, when a familiar little boy’s voice came from behind.
Sienna Johnson sensed Curly bristle instantly. A second later, Curly yanked her hand away and bolted, without a care for her image.
"Curly, slow down! You’ll bump into people," Sienna Johnson called out from behind.
"Curly, don’t run!"
A small, dark figure darted past her, almost bumping into her. The little boy in a small suit—who else could it be but George?
How did this little guy get here too? Sienna Johnson wondered.
"Madam, are you alright?" Rosie Cooper steadied Sienna Johnson, who was still shaken. "Lorie, quickly, go after her! Don’t let her run around..." This was Elliot Carpenter’s territory; she couldn’t risk her daughter running off recklessly.
"Yes, Madam!" Lorie Cooper chased after Curly.
Owen Hunter approached with Aria Harris, greeting Sienna Johnson with a smile. "Sienna, long time no see! You’re looking more radiant than ever. Huh? Where’s Adrian? How come I don’t see Adrian? This is quite a surprise; Adrian is usually inseparable from you."
"Mr. Carpenter had something to discuss with him; they went to talk business," Sienna Johnson replied, glancing at Aria Harris. Aria Harris wore an expression as if someone owed her 750 thousand dollars, which instantly made Sienna Johnson lose any inclination to greet her.
Owen Hunter sized up Sienna Johnson, looking as though he had something to say, but in the end, he just looked at her without speaking.
"You received invitations too?" If I’d known they were coming, Curly definitely wouldn’t have agreed to come, Sienna Johnson actually wanted to say.
Owen Hunter smiled awkwardly but didn’t avoid the subject. He said frankly, "Actually, we found out Curly was coming, and our little George really wanted to see her. So I had to swallow my pride and ask for three invitations just so we could come."
