Chapter 942: Chapter 343: Their President Is Actually Gay

The aunt spoke, directly teaching Chu Munan how to hold the baby so that it would feel comfortable.

When he first held that tiny bundle in his hands, Chu Munan’s body became incredibly stiff, as if he was completely ill at ease, not even daring to move.

Assistant Chen, who followed Chu Munan in, was taken aback to see their CEO so unnaturally holding a child, cautiously, nearly dropping his glasses in surprise.

If he remembered correctly, didn’t their CEO supposedly dislike children?

He recalled a past incident at the company when some rambunctious kid slipped past security and entered the building, even the CEO’s private elevator. Their CEO happened to come across the mischievous child, and his face turned dark, immediately ordering the child to be taken out and all security staff on duty that day fired.

Another time, at a company gala, a relative brought an infant just a few months old. Someone jokingly suggested the CEO hold the child, but he merely glanced at the child with disgust and looked away, turning the atmosphere incredibly awkward. Rumors then began circulating within the company that their CEO truly disliked kids, questioning why such a nearly-thirty-year-old man remained unmarried without children.

Not even a girlfriend.

There was even a rumor circulating in the company at one point that their CEO was... well, not straight!

But now, Assistant Chen noticed attentively that when their CEO cradled the child, his expression softened, and in his eyes, a hint of... affection?

Assistant Chen decided that when they returned to work in Beijing, if anyone dared say again that their CEO was kid-repellent, he would set the record straight.

The key was, it depended on whose child it was, and it looked like it definitely had to be... a daughter!

After all, he saw their CEO’s undisguised disdain when he realized the nanny was holding a baby boy.

These two little ones haven’t been named yet. As the tiny bundle was handed over from the aunt to Chu Munan, it seemed to sense the change, pouting as if ready to cry, but once in Chu Munan’s arms, it settled, even moving its little hand, though its eyes remained closed.

Holding the tiny bundle, Chu Munan’s mind was filled with a whirl of thoughts, but predominantly he felt his heart melting into mush, his actions becoming more cautious, afraid of accidentally hurting her.

...

When Song Qiao woke up, it was already afternoon. The hospital room was filled with the sound of children’s cries and the nanny comforting them, amidst the faint noise of someone teasing a child.

Before she even opened her eyes, she felt a severe headache. She probably slept too long, as her eyes struggled to open, but with the increasing cries of the child, she forced herself awake.

"Sister, you’re awake!" As Song Qiao opened her eyes, a somewhat youthful face popped into view, adorned with a delighted smile.

Assistant Chen was still in the room, and hearing the commotion, he came over to check. Seeing Song Qiao was truly awake, he let out a sigh of relief and quickly said, "I’ll go call the doctor to check on Miss Song." With that, he turned and left the room.

Song Qiao closed her eyes again briefly before reopening them. Her throat was terribly dry, and after a moment, she managed to utter a few words, "Shinian, please pour me a glass of water."

Mu Shinian hurriedly agreed, turned around to fetch water, and after bringing it over, adjusted the bed’s height for Song Qiao before handing her the cup to drink.

After drinking, Song Qiao felt quite relieved. Earlier, without water, she felt like someone in the desert about to die of thirst. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Having quenched her thirst, Song Qiao scanned the room, but didn’t see the children, and instinctively frowned.

Though she didn’t speak, Mu Shinian quickly understood her concern and explained, "Brother Munan and Aunt have taken the babies out for a check-up. Sister, wait a moment, Aunt brought you some chicken soup earlier, I’ll pour some for you."

Since they didn’t know when Song Qiao would wake up, the chicken soup had been kept in reserve. Chu Munan had it at noon; although reluctant at first, he eventually drank it all for some reason.

The current chicken soup was freshly brewed by Aunt, still steaming in a thermos. Mu Shinian found a ceramic bowl and headed to the restroom to rinse it.

Just as Mu Shinian entered the restroom, the room door opened again. Chu Munan entered carrying a baby, followed by Aunt and the nanny, the latter also holding another child.

The man immediately noticed the woman half-reclining in the hospital bed and stopped in his tracks, then smiled warmly, walking over to the bedside and gently asking, "You’re awake? Feeling unwell anywhere?"

Song Qiao shook her head, a faint smile appearing on her lips, "I’m fine."

Immediately, her eyes fell on the little bundle in Chu Munan’s arms, her face softening into a gentle smile.

Following her gaze to the baby girl in his arms, Chu Munan understood and handed the child over, "This is our daughter. She was born minutes later; the one born first is our son. They’re still nameless, waiting for you to wake up and name them."

Song Qiao took the child, and perhaps instinctively as a mother, she understood how to hold the baby without being taught. Cradling the minute bundle in her arms, her heart filled with warmth and love.

Perhaps sensing its mother’s wake, yet not being held, the little boy in the nanny’s arms began to cry. As the boy wailed, the previously well-behaved girl in Song Qiao’s arms also began crying, and soon the room was filled with their cries.

Chu Munan glanced at the boy in the nanny’s arms, his face immediately darkening.

This little rascal, crying at the drop of a hat.
