The billionaire's only desire-Chapter 108: Stalker?
Chapter 108: Stalker?
The cleaning company that Dalton hired was working, keeping the mansion spotless, when Dalton sauntered in, his phone tucked in his ear as he argued with Marcello. "How did you even find her?"
"I went to the restaurant she works at because I wanted to have lunch with her. A waiter directed me to a table where she was sitting. I found her with her head sprawled on the table, passed out. Then I took her straight to your mansion and immediately called Oliver to come check on her. That was it," Marcello explained.
"You should have called to tell me about it!" Dalton yelled, angry and distressed.
Marcello’s groans came through the phone. It seems his gun wound was being treated. "I was busy preparing for the rescue mission. You know, the sex trafficking girls I had to rescue."
Marcello’s explanations didn’t do much to subdue Dalton’s anger. He was still upset with him, but he didn’t argue further. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"Thanks for bringing her home. How is your arm?" he asked, concerned.
"It hurts like a bitch, but it will heal just fine."
Dalton realized that he didn’t express his gratitude to Marcello for taking that bullet for him. "I... thank you for saving my life," he said. He wanted to say more, but he was a man of few words. This was all he could manage to say.
He could feel Marcello’s smile as he replied, "I’ve got your back, frà. I will risk my life to protect you over and over again."
Marcello’s proclamation made Dalton feel unsettled. He thanked him for the second time and quickly hung up.
As he made his way toward Maya’s room, he called Oliver to inquire about her condition.
Oliver assured him that it was nothing serious. Maya had just taken three pills of one of her medications instead of two and then drank wine afterward. The combination made her pass out, but it was nothing serious; she would wake up in a couple of hours. Steve, the head of security, wording was a bit exaggerated, leading him to believe it was a serious overdose. His muscle tension eased when he realized Maya was fine.
He slightly opened Maya’s door and took a sneak peek. She was sleeping peacefully in bed. He was tempted to go in, he would stay by her side until she woke up but he restrained himself from doing so because he needed to get some rest before his flight to Singapore for business.
He gave Maya a final glance and carefully closed her door. He went straight to his room. As soon as his head touched the bed, sleep engulfed him.
He slept for a few hours and then woke up feeling refreshed. Soon, he was on his private jet, flying for a one-day trip to Singapore.

Maya’s memory was hazy and spacey when she woke up. She drew the curtains to look out the window at the garden, only to be met with complete darkness.
"Is it already night? What the hell happened?" she muttered, her mind in disarray. All she remembered was talking to Marcello at the restaurant in the afternoon, but now it was nighttime??
Her phone beeped, and she retrieved it from her headboard. The screen was filled with unanswered messages from Dalton and Haven. Maya suddenly frowned when her eyes fell on the date peeking at the top corner of the screen.
"27th?, Saturday?!" she exclaimed. "Wasn’t it supposed to be Friday? Have I been sleeping since Friday afternoon or what?"
She got the answer when Oliver sent another message, reminding her not to forget to eat, take her medication, and be careful with the dosage. This prompted Maya to check the other messages Oliver had sent her leading her to discover that she had taken three pills of her medication for her migraines instead of two, which resulted in her passing out, and Marcello was the one who brought her home.
Maya became more confused. She always makes sure to carefully take the right dosage of the meds for her migraines and dizziness to avoid forming an addiction. She remembers taking her medication in the morning before going to the restaurant, but she doesn’t recall taking another dosage in the afternoon. Maya hit her head in frustration as she tried to remember doing that, but her mind was blank. It felt as if a part of her memory had been wiped away.
Struggling to recall that memory was causing a headache, so she decided to stop trying to piece together what had happened yesterday.
She called the restaurant management and apologized for leaving the restaurant yesterday and not coming in today either. She assured the head chef that she would handle all the managerial tasks by herself for a week to make it up to them.
Maya then proceeded to take a shower and dressed in a comfortable matching sweat set. For dinner, she made herself chicken and dumplings.
Later, she settled in and put on a good blockbuster movie to pass the time. She texted Haven first, and then Dalton to let him know that she was awake and was alright. Dalton replied, informing her that he was in the air, flying back from Singapore. He later called, and they talked on the phone until Maya fell asleep.

Maya jerked awake in the middle of the night, feeling thirsty. As she was climbing out of bed, her phone screen lit up. She picked it up and saw messages from an unknown number.
Maya cringed, her stomach churning as she read the messages:
"What are you wearing, sexy? "
"I bet you’re wearing sexy lingerie."
"Let me sneak into your bed,. I can make you feel good."
Maya gagged, she wanna throw up.
"Who the fuck are you, you pervert!" she angrily texted back, aware that she shouldn’t have. It was foolish to respond. The best option would have been to ignore him.
The pervert replied, "You know who I am, sexy, Your body remembers the ecstasy of my touch."
Maya immediately blocked him, tossing her phone onto the bed in disgust.
She has a stalker—a stalker who knew her.
