The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 279: The Magical Resort (Part One)
"Angel, wake up."
Emily heard a familiar voice whispering softly against her ear, his warm breath fanning her skin and creating goosebumps in its wake.
Instead of opening her eyes, she snuggled closer in the embrace of the man who immediately tightened his hold around her and chuckled softly while rubbing her head with one of his hands.
"You slept the entire way here. Are you planning to stay awake the whole night?" He asked when he noticed that she was no longer sleeping.
Emily softly opened her eyes and let them adjust to her surroundings before turning her head to look at Kaiden. "I heard there’s a hot spring in this resort. I’m planning to try it out tonight." She revealed the plan.
It wasn’t her original plan to sleep during the four hours long drive. She actually wanted to enjoy it as it was only her third time out of City A, but Kaiden’s warm embrace pulled her into a dreamless sleep nearly fifteen minutes after they left the Alessandro mansion.
"Am I allowed to join you?" Kaiden asked as he looked at his mate with expectation-filled eyes.
"Why? Don’t you have to go out for a run tonight?" Emily reminded Kaiden that, unlike the usual nights, it was the full moon night and he won’t be able to spend much time with her.
Kaiden let out a small sigh as he turned his head to look up at the sky. It was already half past eight but the moon wasn’t out yet but it won’t take too long to come out. He probably had very little time in his hands before he would need to leave for his night hunt.
He would have loved to spend this full moon night with his mate and would have invited her to join him during his run but unfortunately, this time he had to give up on that idea. They planned this trip for Shadow and if they left him all alone on the very first night of the trip, it would be the worst thing to do.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when Shadow appeared outside the car window and tapped on the screen, his eyes settling on Emily for a few seconds as he smiled warmly at her before he spoke, "I got the room keys. Come out."
Emily snuggled out of his arms and moved towards the door to get out of the car. Kaiden followed her suit and also came out before they all moved towards the back of the car to get their suitcases.
"Here, let me take it." He took Emily’s suitcase and gave her the little backpack which she accepted and gave him an appreciated smile before saying a small ’Thank you’. He just patted the back of her head endearingly before moving to garb his own suitcase.
The three of them headed toward the little administration building of the resort where they had planned to spend the weekend. They submitted their suitcases for the staff to take care of before they all headed out.
"This place looks so pretty even at the night. I wanna see how it will look in daytime." Emily spoke as she looked around at the various species of plants that were growing around the administration building. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
There was a stone pathway built on either side of the administration building that led toward the resort. Emily stared at both the paths before she asked, "Which one is ours?" She looked at the two men with raised eyebrows, waiting for their answers.
"How about you guess?" Kaiden suggested with a little smile playing on his lips.
Emily nodded her head lightly before she took the room keys from Shadow’s hands and closed them in her palm. She was about to close her eyes when a warm palm covered hers and stopped her. "I’m not gonna use my powers, Shadow. I’m just trying to sense the location of our rooms through the keys." She assured the man as she pulled his hand away from hers.
The two men shared quick looks before Shadow finally gave her a nod of approval. "Alright."
Closing her eyes, Emily pointed her focus on the keys and tried to wrap her essence around them, trying to locate the location of the rooms these keys belonged to.
The resort they had chosen for their trip belonged to a warlock and as such, it was anything but a normal resort. The place was divided into two different themes and each season, these themes were changed. The current themes were - hillside and beach. One of the pathways would lead to the beach resort and the other to the hillside resort.
Kaiden had booked their rooms in the hillside resort because the view there was reviewed with five stars. However, he still made sure to book the entire day of Sunday on the beach.
Emily opened her eyes after a few seconds and a beautiful smile bloomed on her lips as she pointed at the pathway on their right. "This way, gentlemen."
Shadow and Kaiden smiled seeing her excitement as they followed her towards the pathway on their right. The pathway was built of stones that were buried in the ground. Little grass was growing all over and around it.
At first, their surroundings were filled with huge trees and plants but then they came across a wooden door standing all alone on their path with vines wrapped all over it. The words ’WELCOME TO THE SEASON SURPRISES’ were engraved on it in capital letters.
Emily pulled the door open and the three of them stepped inside only to find a beautiful surprise waiting for them on the other side. The three of them stared at the huge lake in front of them and the dozens of boats that were floating on its surface.
A man dressed in the resort’s staff uniform approached them. "Welcome to the Season of Hills & Nature. This way please." He showed them a boat standing near the shore. It was a beautiful boat with lanterns hanging on the walls of the roof of the boat.
The three of them took their seats in the boat before it started moving towards their destination. The resort was definitely full of fun and it was just the mere beginning!
