Chapter 286: The Magical Resort (Part Eight)

Emily hurriedly showered and changed into a simple green-colored summer dress, keeping the accessories and makeup to the minimum. Collecting her phone from the dresser, she headed outside the bedroom in search of Kaiden.

It was already half past nine o’clock in the morning and they were running late for breakfast. After that, they had plans to visit the magical aquarium that was built underneath the lake. The plan that Kaiden had prepared for the day sounded really exciting to her and she was actually looking forward to it.

Her body was still pretty sensitive because of the early morning incident. The hunger and desire were still there but unfortunately, she had no better option than to keep her needs in check for the time being.

But since the mere thought of returning to her mate’s side excited her and filled her stomach with butterflies, it was proving to be a hard job to not betray her mind and just listen to her body and soul.

She was still not sure what caused Kaiden to pull away from her all of a sudden in the morning but she has decided to respect his decision. All this time, he was the one waiting patiently for her to come out of her shell and trust him with her heart and body. And now, she was ready to do the same for him.

Walking out into the leaving room, she found Kaiden standing next to the ward that was separating the living room from the open balcony. He probably had made some changes in the ward because the light morning breeze was flowing throughout the living room, filling it with a cool atmosphere.

"Ready to enjoy the day?" Kaiden asked as he noticed her presence in the living room even before he turned to look at her. The warm and soft look in his deep cerulean eyes immediately made her relax.

"I’m really looking forward to our trip to the aquarium and then the dinner date before the night show at the waterfall," Emily stated as she moved to stand next to Kaiden. Not being sure if he would appreciate any sort of physical touch at the moment, she decided to keep some space between them.

However, it didn’t even take Kaiden ten seconds to close the distance between them as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a back hug. "I’m happy to know that. Let’s have our breakfast first before leaving for the aquarium." He suggested while lightly rocking their bodies from side to side.

"Sounds great," Emily responded with a soft smile as she was unable to hide her happiness after returning to her mate’s arms.

The two of them enjoyed the day just as they planned. They went to the underwater aquarium and had a dinner date in the evening before watching the marvelous waterfall show later that evening.

The next day was just as adventurous. They enjoyed their morning at the beach and had a lavish lunch in the sky restaurant. They spent the afternoon on a trip to the ancient woodland where Emily got to meet many supernatural races belonging to the Seelie blood. In the late afternoon, the two of them spent some time in the flower meadows that were spread across acres of land.

It was only after they had an early dinner in the evening before they started packing up to return to City A.

Emily just finished packing her stuff when she heard the knock on her bedroom door. As she looked up, she found Kaiden waiting at the entrance of the room.

"You are already done packing?" She asked as she moved towards the bathroom to check for the last time if she had left something behind.

Kaiden moved inside the room and settled down on the edge of the bed as he moved his hand in the air and chanted a spell. That’s why when Emily returned from the bathroom, she saw him holding her goggles and a bottle of sunscreen that she had forgotten to pack.

"Magic." That’s all he said while handing her the items. His gaze followed her as she put the sunscreen and the goggles into her handbag.

"I hope we won’t be leaving anything behind after using that little spell of yours." She muttered while looking around the room. Her eyes settled on the dream catcher that was hanging next to the bed and she felt a deja vu as the image of another similar-looking dream catcher entered her mind.

She heard a voice that sounded familiar and yet she couldn’t recognize it, belonging to the person who gifted her the dream catcher.

She felt a sudden sharp throb in her temples all of a sudden and it pulled her entire attention away from the blurred memory that had suddenly appeared in front of her eyes.

"Angel." Kaiden was immediately beside her, his voice filled with worry as he pulled her closer and looked into her eyes to see if she was alright. "What is it?" He asked.

Emily felt the pain disappearing as she turned her attention to Kaiden and barely in a second or two, it vanished completely. "It’s nothing. I felt something weird for a second there but it was nothing. Let’s set out before we will get late."

Kaiden didn’t move immediately, instead, he stood there in silence as he watched her for the next few moments as if to check whether she was really alright or not. Only when he was sure that she was okay, did he relax.

Placing a soft kiss against her forehead, he pulled her into a tight hug for a couple of seconds before stepping away. "Alright. Let’s go."

The two of them collected their suitcases and headed out of the suite. Checking out from the resort, both Emily and Kaiden left full five-star reviews before they set out on their return trip to City A.

And as Emily watched the resort fading into the darkness through the car’s window, she felt like she had lost something important there... something that she was never meant to lose.
