The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 300: A New Teacher
"Crist...!"
Emily hurriedly cupped her brother’s face and tried to wake him up. Even though there seemed to be no physical injury on him, she was still losing her mind as the man refused to wake up no matter how much she shouted or pleaded. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
"Brother, please... p-please open your eyes..." Her tears refused to stop and her entire body was feeling like it had turned into solid rock and couldn’t handle the weight anymore. She felt so tired and weak but for the moment, her brother was her biggest concern and not her personal problems.
"P-phone." She suddenly realized and looked around towards her car only to recall that she hadn’t brought her phone along with her when she fled from the Sullivan mansion. Her frustration only increased and then she found herself searching for Crist’s phone. She needed to call an ambulance for him.
She did find the phone and unlocked it but as she tried to make the call, her vision suddenly became blurry and her body swayed. The heaviness that her body was experiencing became even more powerful, making her lose her hold on the phone. It slipped out of her hand and landed on the road, and then she found herself losing her control over her body too.
She braced herself for the harsh impact of the hard and cold road but it never came. Instead, she found herself being pulled into a pair of strong and warm had that allowed her to rest against a warm embrace.
"Princess."
She heard a familiar but yet not so-familiar voice calling her, it was filled with the same plea that she had in her voice while she tried to wake Crist up.
Her eyes fluttered slightly as she tried to open them and look at the person but it was proving very hard for her to stay conscious anymore. Still, she succeeded in slightly opening her eyes and found a pair of beautiful amber eyes looking back at her.
"Shadow."
The name left her lips and while a part of her found the name and the eyes pretty familiar, something in her mind kept blocking her from recalling exactly who he was. A pain shot through her temples when she tried to force herself to find the memories related to him.
"Don’t, Princess. Don’t hurt yourself. How come you end up like this? I thought if I will leave you and Kaiden alone, the two of you will be able to live a happy life. Then why did you both prove me wrong?" His voice was filled with regret instead of accusations.
"Please... Crist..." Her voice was barely audible but she saw him hurriedly nodding his head. "He’s alright. Don’t worry, I’ll get you both to the hospital. I promise."
That was probably all that she needed to hear because her body finally let go and allowed the darkness to consume her.
-
Shadow sat on the road with an unconscious Emily in his arms. The dark energy was still surrounding her and a mere hospital couldn’t save her from this darkness.
Closing his eyes, he placed his hand over her heart and concentrated on calling that darkness inside him, however, he was disturbed right before that.
"So, she’s the one."
The voice belonged to the man who suddenly appeared out of nowhere. His entire body was covered in a bright sheen and as he walked, his clothes and long blonde hair fluttered in the wind that wasn’t even blowing.
His silvery-grey eyes observed Shadow and Emily in interest as he approached the two and crouched down next to them. "So this is the woman who has captured your heart and made you like this." He said while shaking his head as a smile played on his lips.
"What are you doing here?" Shadow asked as he turned his attention to the uninvited guest.
"If not for me coming here like this, I’m sure you would have already absorbed her darkness once again. Right?" The man retorted back as he watched the dark energy surrounding the girl.
Shadow didn’t answer, not like he needed to in the first place.
"I have already called the ambulance, take these two to the hospital and also remember to inform their families... especially her other mate." The man pointed in Emily’s direction as he spoke the last few words.
After that, he turned a silver ring on his index finger and pointed it in the unconscious girl’s direction, allowing all the dark energy to leave her and enter the ring. There was something about the ring that attracted the dark energy like hungry vampires to fresh and sweet blood. It was a trap and the darkness fell into it.
"Here. Now she’s stable, just a little bit tired because the darkness had consumed a lot of her energy. But I must say, this future student of mine is too weak. You really found a special piece for me, didn’t you?" The man was still observing the girl but his words were directed at Shadow.
"She’s indeed special." That’s all Shadow said in response and it made the other man let out a sigh as he once again shook his head before finally turning his attention to the former. "You are really done for. Never thought someone like you will end up falling head over heels for someone. To say that I’m surprised, would be an understatement."
The man stood up and took a couple of steps back but his gaze didn’t shift away from Emily. "Interesting. She’s not a mortal but not a supernatural either. I’ll be looking forward to her arrival in my lands."
He then turned at Shadow and spoke his final words, "Once she’s discharged from the hospital, bring her to me. It’s time for her to accept her past. I will heal her... both physically and mentally, and she will learn to use the immense powers that are residing inside her. Im so looking forward to officially introducing myself to this student of mine."
