The Broken Halo-Chapter 196: Battle Against The Iron Fangs
The only sound that could be heard in the liquor store was the sound of rock music playing.
Simon indifferently and coldly looked at the faces of everybody in the liquor store, their cold gazes had no effect on him and he was not bothered in the slightest about their killing intent and auras.
He had thought of multiple locations on where to fight the Iron Fangs the moment he realized that they were following him, but there was no suitable location in his mind.
He had not spent up to a week in the Shadowgrave Clan, so he knew very little about the clan’s structure despite having a portion of the map in his head.
There was a big difference between knowing and experiencing the roads, buildings, and landmarks of several locations compared to seeing them on the map.
There were several things a map would not show, and only when an individual went there himself, would the person know how the location was.
These were the issues Simon faced when he was thinking of where to fight the Iron Fangs, then he realized the solution and it was so simple to him.
Why worry about where to fight the Iron Fangs when he could let the Iron Fangs lead him to where they wanted to kill him.
No matter what, the location the Iron Fangs would have very little to no security, the chances of anybody interfering would be little, and he was certain that the Iron Fangs would not set traps for a mere ’Lesser Demon’ like him.
Some might refuse to fight their enemies in their home ground because it would increase the chances of their enemies winning, but since Simon had no home to take advantage of, then he would rather fight in the home ground of his enemies than in a location with unknown variables.
’Hmm... I can’t see the leader, Geryan. Where is he?’
’There are also more than fourteen people here. Did that investigator lie to me? Or is it because this is most likely the headquarters of the Iron Fangs, so all the hidden members of the Iron Fangs are here?’
’I count at least twenty five members... Maybe thirty?’
"Kill him."
The moment Simon had this thought, a cold voice echoed in the liquor store, but Simon could not locate the source because it sounded from anywhere.
However, Simon’s attention was not on this. The moment this cold voice echoed in the liquor store, his spine tingled and the entire liquor store was drenched in the killing intent of over a dozen trained assassins.
Simon did not hesitate.
He grabbed his jar of wine, and he swung his arm to the side.
Crash!
Shatter! 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
The jar of wine shattered the moment Simon crashed it into the face of the Initiate beside him.
The Initiate was about to stab his right chest with a dagger, but Simon was much faster than he was.
The Initiate was drenched in wine, and he cursed as he was temporarily blinded.
Simon grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and placed him to his left while kicking the second Initiate who had brought him to this liquor store and was sitting directly beside his partner.
"Argh!"
The second Initiate was shocked to the core at Simon’s decisiveness.
Due to the fact that Simon enhanced his kick with his demonic energy, the Initiate coughed out a mouthful of blood, causing blood to drip from beneath his mask as he flew into two other members of the Iron Fangs.
Meanwhile, to Simon’s left, the Initiate who he used as a shield had daggers in his chest, neck, and head.
He was no longer moving and no breath left his mouth anymore.
He was dead and Simon flung him using his extraordinary strength.
Bam!
The corpse crashed into three members of the Iron Fangs, but Simon’s attention was no longer on the corpse.
He bent down, dodging two daggers that were thrown at him, then he quickly flung the table and used it as a shield.
Numerous daggers and arrows crashed into the table, and Simon’s ears twitched as he heard a change in the sound of the wind.
’That’s not a dagger or arrow. It’s too large.’
Without hesitation, Simon rolled to the side, and a second after he rolled, a spear pierced through the table.
If he had not moved, the spear would have pierced his solar plexus and he’d be a corpse by now.
As soon as Simon rolled, he grabbed a leg of the table and threw it.
Bang!
It crashed into six members of the Iron Fangs, and some dodged while some were too slow.
Curses and shouts rang out as the members of the Iron Fangs were furious and also shocked at Simon’s abilities.
How was this possible?
Simon was not using a weapon.
He was just using his fists and legs.
He was only dodging and using the objects and their comrades as shields and weapons.
He could not even control his chaos.
He was a slave.
And most importantly, he was a Lesser Demon.
Just how...
How was he dodging their attacks and causing them harm at the same time without having any advantage over them.
They outnumbered him, but he was still weaving through their attacks without a single injury on his body.
He has not been trained by the clan, but they have.
So why?
Why were they at the losing end?!
They had even lost a comrade, and they were the ones that killed him!
"What are you bastards doing?! Use your chaos! Are you guys fools?!"
The same voice echoed across the building once again, and Simon’s eyes flashed once he heard this.
’Alright. It’s time then.’
Simon hid behind a stone pillar of the building, then he opened his palm and a fist sized black ball appeared above his hand.
Meanwhile, the instant the members of the Iron Fangs heard the words of their leader, the subconscious restraint they placed in their minds vanished.
Using their chaos would mean causing more damage to their headquarters, and many of them loved this building.
Also, once they used their chaos and the commotion became too loud, the authorities of the clan itself could arrive and the situation would became a lot worse.
None of them believed that they’d need to use their chaos on Simon who they also believed was a mere Lesser Demon slave.
But right now, they knew that not using their chaos would make them to lose this battle.
And this was a battle of pride and reputation to them.
They needed to use Simon as an example against other Initiates in the academy.
The air in the building thickened as over a dozen members used their chaos, and their eyes oozed with confidence and killing intent as they stared at the pillar Simon was hiding behind.
Simon did not wait, he threw the black ball, and in the next moment...
Bang!
The ball exploded and a dense black mist enveloped the entire building.
