The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 1: Why Should I Help You?
"Let me see, has everything grown properly?"
Yelena Hughes was pressed against the hard wall by a pair of arms. "Are you... mistaking me for someone else?"
Her shoulders were thin, and because of her powerless struggle, she slipped into a deep bone groove. Yelena desperately closed her eyes; a year without contact, she thought Jasper Yale wouldn’t remember her.
Jasper Yale said, word by word, "On that bed a year ago, when I was on top of you, I counted – you called my name 68 times."
Some were cries of unbearable pain, some were frantic pleas for mercy.
Yelena felt as if her outer garment had been peeled away; the humiliation of that night pressed against her mind, as if dunking her into boiling water.
She certainly couldn’t admit it.
"I have never met you."
Not even once, never.
Jasper leaned closer to her face, his sharp gaze drawing her features, and Yelena’s gaze involuntarily fell into the man’s eyes.
Jasper’s eyes were cold, unable to harbor any emotions.
"Seems like I’m mistaken?"
Yelena eagerly nodded, "Yes."
Jasper held her slim waist with one hand, his fingers hooked onto her jeans but didn’t pull.
Long breaths beside Yelena’s ear stirred her dark hair.
The man finally let go.
They returned to the private room one after another, and Justin Sutton walked over to hold Yelena’s hand. "Let me introduce you; this is my girlfriend."
Jasper sat upright on the sofa, his long legs crossed, watching as Yelena shook off Justin’s hand.
"Don’t make nonsense."
Justin pulled Yelena over to Jasper. "This is the Young Master I told you about; he has the medicine that can save your sister."
Yelena’s body tensed up; in shock, she looked at Jasper’s eyes and saw a blurred silhouette.
The Young Master Yale held a cigarette near his face; his bone structure impeccable, everything about him was beautiful.
Someone leaned over to light Jasper’s cigarette; he placed his hand on his leg.
Seeing this, Justin quickly handed his lighter to Yelena. "What are you waiting for? Light Young Master’s cigarette."
Yelena tightly gripped the lighter as Justin continued to urge her.
"Young Master certainly will help us with this favor; then your sister will be saved."
These words successfully pushed Yelena toward Jasper; she bent down, and Jasper slid the cigarette into his mouth, his teeth biting the end.
Just as the lighter was about to touch the cigarette tip, Jasper suddenly took the cigarette away.
"What medicine do you want?"
Yelena nearly burned her hand, unable to retract it in time.
"Heart Protection Peace."
Jasper’s gaze barely swept over her, then turned to the man behind her. "Justin, this medicine isn’t on the market yet; I can’t give it."
Justin winked at him. "I specially brought my girlfriend to meet you today; give us some face."
Yelena maintained her bent posture as Jasper leaned back toward the sofa, her upper body blocking him, forming a blind spot in others’ view.
He appeared as cold as an ice sculpture, raising his eyes to look at her.
"I have no ties with her; she doesn’t know me. Why should I help her?"
Yelena’s hand holding the lighter stiffened.
"Just help me! If this succeeds today, she’ll agree to be my girlfriend."
Jasper’s eyes unabashedly scrutinized Yelena, his aura full of an invasive presence.
Jasper shook his head at her.
Yelena had no other way; her sister’s illness couldn’t wait. Dr. Chapman took pity on her and told her Heart Protection Peace could save lives.
But the difficulty was, the medicine wasn’t on the market yet and was held in Jasper’s hands.
"Young Master Yale, how much is the medicine? I’ll buy it from you."
Yelena walked closer to him again, her legs already touching the sofa, and she lit his cigarette.
The man took a gentle drag, his eyes hazed over by smoke.
A sense of desire.
Just like the night a year ago, his face and body emanated abundant desire.
"This medicine isn’t for sale."
Jasper’s tone carried a hint of detachment.
Yelena insisted, "Any price is fine."
The corners of the man’s mouth lifted slightly. "Not much, just fifty thousand."
He admired Yelena’s instantly pale face, knowing well this number touched a sensitive nerve; he knew she couldn’t forget it.
Justin rushed forward, "I’ll pay; what’s fifty thousand?"
Yelena felt deeply embarrassed; the pain, humiliation, helplessness buried deep in her heart was brutally dragged out by Jasper.
She turned to block Justin, "This has nothing to do with you."
"How is it unrelated? You’re my girlfriend..."
Yelena pushed him back a few steps; the more he did this, the more she felt like a joke.
"Justin, I’ll solve it on my own."
Her eyes were clear as she comforted Justin twice, then returned to Jasper.
"Young Master, please be merciful..."
Jasper was hidden in the dim light, his whole demeanor chilly.
He didn’t look at Yelena or speak to her, treating her like air.
Yelena had no choice but to bend down, "Can I have a few boxes first?"
Jasper took a puff of the cigarette, his distinct knuckles tapped it, and Yelena reached for the ashtray, but it was too late.
The warm ash slipped into the collar of her dress, and she straightened up from the burn, instinctively brushing her chest.
"What’s wrong?" Justin asked anxiously.
"Nothing," Yelena forced a smile, "just a little bug..."
Justin wore a displeased expression but didn’t dare offend Jasper, "It’s just some medicine; it’s not worth anything; can’t you help with that?"
Jasper’s voice was deep and stifled, his gaze heavy as it returned to focus on Yelena’s face. "Rules cannot be broken."
The few people left on an unhappy note.
Justin pulled the desolate Yelena into the car, "Really such a good-for-nothing, cold-blooded and heartless..."
He glanced at Yelena’s unpleasant expression, "Don’t dwell on it; he’s just that kind of person, with half beast blood running through his veins. Don’t worry, I’ll handle this..."
Justin started the car, and Yelena’s phone vibrated twice in her pocket.
She took a look; it showed a message.
"Come over."
Yelena’s pupils tightened as she looked at the man driving beside her.
Justin was handsome and came from a good family, but was she deserving?
If he found out she had slept with Jasper, he might reject her immediately.
"I want to walk alone for a while."
"No, what if you encounter a creep late at night?"
But Yelena insisted, "Going home early is pointless; seeing my sister in that state, it pains me."
Justin sighed, "Alright, send me a message when you get home."
"Okay."
The car pulled over, and Yelena watched the man leave before replying to the message with her phone, "Address."
She stood in the night wind for ten minutes until Jasper’s car arrived.
Yelena opened the car door and sat in, "Young Master Yale."
The wind followed her inside, carrying a thin, sticky allure of the night.
Jasper reclined there, broad-shouldered and long-legged, and upon seeing Yelena, he recalled her incredible softness.
"I forgot, what’s your name?"
"Yelena Hughes."
"Yelena, Hughes."
He savored the syllables as if swallowing them whole, a light mocking hint escaping his lips. "Tonight, are you planning to climb into my bed again."
