Chapter 138: The Owner’s Stalker

"You mean the CCTV?" Esteban asked, looking at her in confusion. "But only security personnel are allowed there."

Once he realized what he had just done, he immediately looked away again.

"I have Evan—Sir Holz’s permission," Eternity corrected herself, though she realized a second later that it didn’t matter anymore.

"Ah," he said, seeming unsurprised. "Of course."

Esteban pressed the button for the appropriate floor, and the elevator doors closed with a soft ’ding!’ sound.

As they descended, the silence between them grew heavy. Eternity decided it was now or never, and it was better to ask him now.

"Esteban," she said, saying his name like they had known each other for the longest time. "How did your ’Mister Holz counseling group’ find out that Evan was straight?"

He looked taken aback by her sudden question.

"H-how did you—"

"I knew about your informal group counseling session," Eternity said without a hint of emotion in her voice. "I’m just curious how you all found out about it, which led to the creation of the group in the first place."

Esteban hesitated.

She knew that there was a high chance of Esteban not revealing the secrets of Evan’s admirer group. Eternity didn’t want to do what she was planning to do, but sometimes, dirty actions must be taken. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"I think you heard the rumors, Esteban," Eternity whispered, leaning closer to him. "I have a close relationship with Evan, so I could tell him to fire you just by snapping my fingers."

He grew rigid, and his tired eyes finally looked wide awake.

"Wh-what?"

"Should I?" Eternity raised her hand, ready to snap it like she said she would.

Of course, she didn’t actually plan on firing him and didn’t have the capacity to control Evan to fire him with a snap of her finger. That was completely a lie, but Esteban seemed to be eating it up.

Esteban began speaking in a rushed manner, although that’s what she needed since they were about to arrive at the security floor.

"One of the founding members," Eternity said, raising an eyebrow, "saw him out and about with a red-haired woman."

"That red-haired woman happened to be me," she said before pressing on. "What do you mean by ’out and about’?"

"I can’t tell you more," he said, his lips visibly quivering in fright as if she were holding him at gunpoint.

"Are you really testing me?" she asked threateningly.

"Fine!" He gave up, realizing belatedly that his tone was not appropriate. "I mean, okay, I’ll tell you more. After the viral video of Sir Holz, one of us has been following him since then."

"You mean, you’ve been stalking him?" Eternity knitted her eyebrows together in disbelief.

Esteban reluctantly nodded. "That member reported to us that he caught Sir Holz going home to his apartment, where a woman consistently welcomed him when he got back. We were also told that Sir Holz went on dates with the red-haired woman to an amusement park, nature park, a library, Happy Hornets, et cetera..."

’They knew about me since I entered Evan’s life...’ she thought to herself in disbelief.

"We got lost in our trail when the video of that D-list influencer went viral. We got confused because the woman was also red-haired, but when Sir Holz went to the amusement park, our informant realized they were two different people."

"Who is your informant?" Eternity asked.

"I can’t...!" Esteban sounded like he was about to cry.

"Tell me—" Eternity’s voice grew louder.

But the elevator opened its doors. To be honest, she didn’t expect to get so much information out of him, and this was probably the longest elevator ride she had ever had.

She stepped out of the elevator, giving one last glance at Esteban.

"Thank you for that valuable information," She smiled sweetly and turned her back. "I’ll be back to ask you more. Let me just finish my business in the security room."

The elevator door closed, and Eternity made her way to the head of security’s office.

When she exited the security office, Eternity’s face was as pale as a sheet of paper.

"I can’t believe it..." she whispered to herself. "I would never have thought..."

Eternity shook her head, trying to shoo away the intense shock that was consuming her.

She attempted to walk, only to end up leaning on the wall to support her body. Her eyes blurred with tears, and her knees felt like jelly. She tried her best to contain the sobs that wanted to escape from her lips, but to no avail.

Soon, she fell to her knees and started crying, her wails echoing in the hallway of the security’s floor.

She had seen the CCTV footage with her own two eyes.

The intruder who caught her and Evan was possibly the ’founding member’ and ’informant’ that Esteban had referred to.

She saw this same person following Evan all over RBAB’s premises. Whenever Evan made rounds to check on his employees, whenever he went home, this man hid in a corner and watched Evan from afar.

Just like Esteban had said, it started the day after the make-out video went viral. Of course, the security office only had footage inside and at the entrance of the RBAB building. Outside those premises, they had no clue if the stalker followed Evan home.

But based on Esteban’s words, the stalker did exactly that.

After a while, Eternity finally gathered her strength, wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and stood up. Even if she was still in shock at what she had just found out, she needed to find someone to verbally verify the identity of the informant from Evan’s support group.

"I need to talk to Esteban," she said, heading to the elevator and aggressively pressing the button as if it would go faster if she did so.

The elevator finally arrived at her floor, making a soft ’ding!’ sound. Much to Eternity’s disappointment, the door opened with no Esteban in sight.
