The CEO's Substitute Wife Is A Genius-Chapter 346: Self-Destruction, You... You are W?
Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Self-Destruction, You... You are W?
"Wu Yingfan was supposed to meet with us, wasn’t he? That kid’s not being honest, messing around with other girls!" Wu Yingfan huffed and puffed.
"Oh, what? Jealous? Did you develop feelings through online chatting?" Jiang Man couldn’t help but tease.
"Puh-lease, Sister Man, stop making fun of me!"
"Come on, let’s confront him in public!" Jiang Man raised her eyebrows and stuffed her hands into her pockets.
She walked with a swagger, an imposing figure.
Jiang Rou hurried to open the car door and get in.
But she was a step too slow and had her path blocked by Jiang Man’s foot on the car door.
"Well, well, Chengzhou the celebrity, what a coincidence! Hey? Sweet sister, you two sure seem in a rush. Where are you planning to go?"
"Sister?" Chengzhou incredulously looked towards Jiang Rou, then shifted his gaze to Jiang Man: "What’s going on? Aren’t you Miss Wu? How come she’s your sister?"
"Don’t listen to her nonsense, Chengzhou. I’m not her sister at all. I have nothing to do with her!" Jiang Rou awkwardly tried to clarify her identity.
"Miss Wu?" Jiang Man’s gaze was piercing, like a sharp blade, locking onto Jiang Rou: "Jiang Rou, your last name is Jiang, when did you change it to Wu?"
"Huh? What’s going on?" Wu Yingfan looked completely baffled.
Jiang Rou was pretty skilled to have impersonated Miss Wu like this.
"You’re Miss Wu?"
"Of course I am. Can’t I use Wu as my online surname?" Jiang Rou still defiantly argued, not realizing the gravity of the situation.
She hadn’t expected that the real deal was right in front of her.
"Of course you can. Then tell me, what have you been chatting about with Chengzhou online?" Wu Yingfan crossed his arms, taking on an interrogator’s stance.
Jiang Rou wasn’t going to fall for it and snorted: "Our chat content is private. Why should I tell you?"
"Tsk." Wu Yingfan glanced at Jiang Man, amusement evident in his gaze.
Shaye followed behind, not understanding much Chinese, but it was clear to her they were arguing.
She stood there holding a doll, her eyes wide as saucers.
Trying hard to pick up the juicy bits, like a curious baby.
Chengzhou was irritated by their quarreling, his eyes catching a glimpse of Jiang Man.
Knowing better than to mess with Jiang Man, he decided to ignore them.
"Miss Wu, let’s ignore them." With that, he pulled open the rear car door.
The passenger door was jammed by Jiang Man’s foot, so it wouldn’t open.
Jiang Rou humphed and got into the car with an air of triumph.
Just then, Chengzhou’s phone rang.
A pleasant dingling tone.
He had set a special message alert for W, desiring to chat with his benefactor as soon as possible.
Hearing this sound, he grew suspicious.
Because Jiang Rou was definitely not using her phone.
He looked up and saw the teenager with Jiang Man’s group looking at his phone.
Doubtfully, he pulled out his own phone.
Sure enough, the message was from W.
W: Stupid pig, can’t you recognize when you’ve mistaken someone?
Chengzhou’s pupils dilated in shock, hardly believing what he saw.
He quickly typed a message: Miss Wu, where are you now?
W: You dumbass, deal with the counterfeit first!
Chengzhou looked up and saw the teen still toying with his phone.
Impossible, Miss W couldn’t be a guy.
He had inquired from an insider at Universal Records, and was assured Miss W was indeed a woman.
But now was not the time to dwell on this issue.
He dragged Jiang Rou out of the car, his eyes holding a fierce glimmer: "Who are you really?"
Jiang Rou was terrified by his gaze.
Had he seen through her?
But how could he, in less than a minute?
Jiang Rou forced a smile: "I’m your Miss Wu."
"Then tell me, what’s your online name?"
"Online name..." Jiang Rou stuttered.
How could she possibly answer that?
"You actually dare to impersonate Miss Wu? Get out of my car, now!"
Chengzhou was fierce, frighteningly so, as if ready to kill.
Jiang Rou felt unlucky.
Were it not for Jiang Man’s interference, she and Chengzhou might have already gone to a hotel, after which she could blackmail him into helping her escape her dire circumstances.
Celebrities are never short on cash, and gangsters ultimately want money too.
She believed that by using Chengzhou’s future as a threat, forcing him to pay off the Qinglong Gang, she could finally be free.
Her plan had been perfect, yet it was destroyed by Jiang Man one step before success!
Overwhelmed by anger yet wary and fearful of Jiang Man’s status as the daughter of the Azure Dragon, she felt trapped in a complex mix of emotions, portraying herself as the victim.
"Jiang Man, what have I done to offend you? Why must you oppose me in everything I do?"
"I’m not that bored, you’re not worth my effort to oppose at every turn." Jiang Man’s tone was light and casual.
Her purpose today was to settle accounts with Chengzhou, not to squabble with Jiang Rou.
"Chengzhou, is this how you usually harass women?" Jiang Man said with nonchalance, a casual look on her face.
Chengzhou, suddenly brought into the conversation, was perplexed: "Harass women? I’ve never harassed her! If I had known she was your sister, I’d have stayed as far away as possible! Isn’t having one disaster like you enough? Why would I want to provoke a second?"
"A disaster? I’m nothing like her!" Jiang Rou raised her voice with indignation.
"You’re different alright!" Wu Yingfan’s voice was even louder: "Impersonating W, Sister Man would never stoop to such deception. How can you be so shameless? Do you even know who W is?"
"Chengzhou, I didn’t mean to do it." Jiang Rou bit her lip, looking pitifully forlorn: "You don’t know, because of Jiang Man, that’s why Miss Chen broke up with you. I just couldn’t stand Jiang Man’s vile behavior and wanted to find a quiet place to tell you the whole truth. When Jiang Man was driving a wedge between you and Miss Chen, I was there too. You might not know this, but the four young masters of the Hu family in Harbor City... they are my uncles!"
Jiang Rou was adept at diverting the topic and conflict.
Now, the discussion about her impersonating W had cleverly shifted to Chengzhou.
Chengzhou paused, surprised that these sisters had such an influential background, being nieces of the Hu family in Harbor City?
He could cling to the coattails of W, or that of the Jiang sisters.
Just as he resolved to show a much warmer attitude to Jiang Rou.
"I know you didn’t mean to impersonate Miss W. Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to Miss W later. It’s all just a misunderstanding."
"A misunderstanding my ass!" Wu Yingfan was utterly infuriated: "You really fall for one after the other? How cheap can you be?"
After saying that, he typed deliberately on his phone.
Ding-a-ling.
W: How cheap can you be!
Chengzhou looked at his phone as if he’d seen a ghost, his voice rising to a piercing shriek: "You... you’re W?"
