He took two more outfits from the rack and handed them to her. "Try these on as well."
This time, the clothes were a bit more androgynous, but Vera Xavier pulled them off just as well, giving her a sharp and free-spirited look.
Every time Nathaniel Nathan saw her in a new outfit, he felt like he was seeing her for the first time.
Vera Xavier tried on ten or so outfits and was starting to feel tired. She planned to just pick the cheapest one and be done with it, but when she came out after changing, she found Nathaniel Nathan already holding all the clothes in large and small bags.
She froze for a moment. The salesclerk was beaming. "Your boyfriend is so good to you! He bought everything!"
Vera Xavier couldn’t help but shudder, then she grabbed Nathaniel Nathan’s hand. "This is way too much!"
For her wedding to Wesley Kane, Rona Langdon, who had never cared for her, had only provided enough floral fabric for an old tailor to make a single new dress. After the wedding was called off, Rona Langdon had even taken that dress away and given it to Cara Preston.
