Chapter 1211: Rainbow

The whole street block was rendered a ruin, upon which bloomed red flames and black flames like an alluring sea of flowers. Following the carefree blooms came a worn-out page of exhaustion and loneliness. Even the white moon had tired of the spectacle under its cold scrutiny. Its light returned to cast everything in black and white, as if revealing the essence of the world.

In the center of the ruin, a young man missing his limbs slumped on the ground, holding a pale, frail girl. Her black hair ran messily down her face. Blood gushed out of her eyes and ears—no, only two empty sockets were left where her eyes should be.

The fire had burned her clothes to ashes, and the scales covering her body receded. A tattered jacket imbued with the energy of the Golden Armor covered her deathly cold body. It slowly turned red from the blood gushing out of the girl’s shattered heart.

The pouring rain had stopped. Under the white moon, a strange golden arc emerged above the ruin, a result of the collision of two horrific powers.

“Rainbow...” Gao Yang said hoarsely.

Gao Xinxin didn’t respond. Her empty eyes couldn’t see the rainbow.

“Xinxin, look...” Gao Yang tried to shake Gao Xinxin. “It’s a rainbow.”

She didn’t say anything.

Why wouldn’t you respond? Gao Yang slowly looked down and found his sister’s body. Ah, right. I carved out Sister’s heart, so she can’t see the rainbow.

Gao Yang lifted his head like it was infinitely heavy.

...

Moon City.

A battle broke out in an abandoned harbor forgotten by the prosperous city. Laser beams had rendered the land an uneven surface of gaping craters and spreading fire. A young man wearing an advanced battle suit slumped on the ground, covered in blood, holding a lifeless, broken humanoid weapon in the form of a girl. The energy core in her chest was damaged, her prosthetic eyes crushed.

The young man howled at the sky with despair.

In a thriving urban region.

The two most powerful local gangs broke into a conflict. The hail of bullets wreaked havoc on the once serene street blocks without mercy. Screams, cries, and curses erupted. The sirens of the police could be heard in the distance.

A suited young man sat slumped on the ground, covered in blood, holding a girl dressed in a white dress. She had been hit in the chest, her eyes losing focus.

The young man tipped his head up and howled, beside himself with grief.

On an ancient battlefield.

The desert filled with stormy sand was cluttered with dead soldiers and horses, as well as broken weapons. Blood pooled and converged into rivers. Deaths haunted every patch of the land.

A young man in golden armor slumped on the ground, covered in blood, holding a general wearing silver armor. An arrow protruded from her chest. Blood streaked down her lifeless eyes.

The young man cried out to the sky, overwhelmed with agony.

A magical valley.

Dead humans, dwarves, elves, giants, and orcs filled the valley. Weapons clanged and death throes echoed. The black dragon and the red dragon in the sky breathed fire at each other while mages manipulated magic circles to send colorful spells dancing in the air.

A young man dressed like a hero sat on the ground covered in blood, holding a girl wearing a mage robe. Black magic had put a hole through her chest, melting her eyes.

The young man wailed at the sky, crushed by heartbreak.

In the bygone time of limbo.

Countless celestials created formations and clashes with spells. They soared into the sky and dove underground, their blades clashing and their vibrant powers colliding. The explosion of sounds reverberated across the sky like a dragon’s roar.

A young man in a green robe slumped on the ground, covered in blood, holding a girl wearing a white dress. A hit to her chest had scattered her soul, dimming her eyes.

The young man roared at the sky, overcome with anguish.

“Ahhh!!”

At that moment, the cries of countless young men broke through the barrier of time and space and overlapped on a single point. Layers upon layers of illusions superimposed to approach their limit, finally becoming reality.

Ring.

Gao Yang heard a ring in his head.

He sat on the ground, covered in blood, holding his sister’s body.

He looked up at the sky and didn’t howl, wail, or cry.

Nothing happened. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

He quietly watched until the rainbow faded away.
