The Crown's Seduction-Chapter 60: Niran
Chapter 60: Niran
At Valcrez Kingdom
"They will be arriving tomorrow evening," Raul hummed as he sipped on the cup of blood Niran had served him. He then stood up to follow her, hugging her from behind as he added, "Are you excited, my darling? I just need Nikolai's approval, then we can perform the Coupling Rite soon."
"Milord, please control yourself. It would be improper for me to get tainted without following the right process in your kingdom first," Niran reminded the man who was now currently kissing her shoulder blades.
"As I said, it's a dream come true for me to have a proper name for myself because I grew up without a family, but we can't rush things. I want a home and a legal family I can call my own, but I won't throw it away for just a momentary experience with pleasure."
She bit her lower lip as she suppressed her soft moans. Usually, having Prince Raul hear those soft moans would give him enough satisfaction for him to back down. And as she expected, her lover released her from his grip, making her smile.
"Damn, I can't wait for him to come back and finish his own Coupling Rites so that I can follow suit," Raul excitedly grumbled.
Turning around, Niran stretched her lips into a loving and seductive smile as she said, "It's just one day, milord."
Raul returned her smile as he gently and lovingly caressed her cheek. He then pulled her close to him and whispered, "I will give you everything you ever wanted, Niran."
"Having you will be enough for me, Milord," Niran dreamily stated. "Oh right. Are you going to join the parade once the King and Queen arrive?"
"I have to," he murmured. "I'm a Prince, and the people must see that I support my brother whether I like it or not…"
"I see," she sighed. "By the way, another black letter arrived for you. I put it in your study, milord. Honestly, I'm tempted to open and read them myself."
Raul simply stared at her, and she gave him an awkward smile as she naively explained, "I can't help but think they're love letters from another lover of yours."
"What? Oh, you can open them anytime you want then," Raul laughed out loud as he replied. "You do know that I trust you enough with all the important documents sent here in this private manor anyway. You might as well read them and spare me some of the pain."
Niran had a natural blush gracing her face as she murmured, "I was afraid of doing so without asking you first though."
Seeing her reaction, Raul hummed as he pulled her in for a tight embrace. "Oh, I really love how meek, vulnerable, and honest you are, my darling…"
The smile on Niran's face faded. Raul would probably kill her the moment he found out about all her lies. Still, she was more than ready to die so long as it benefited her lady.
Everything would be worth it for her lady… now her Queen. She should've been long dead by now, but because of Mineah… she had gotten a second chance at life.

She had volunteered herself to do this particular task of spying on the royal family, but something unexpected happened. She had a chance encounter with Prince Raul, who happened to set his eyes on her the moment he saw her.
As if it was fate's ordained, she was also perfect for this role. Among Mineah's five shadow maidens, she was the only one who could handle her emotions well and could easily fool anyone with whatever she wanted them to believe.
After witnessing how dirty the plays of the royals and clans were in the capital, Niran was more eager to use the opportunity laid out before her. Her Queen would need someone like her to be her eyes in the most crucial moments of the upper echelons of the kingdom, so she decided to stay close to Prince Raul to gain access to his contacts.
Sure enough, the man was receiving a lot of invitations from secret organizations that were all against King Nikolai's rule. She had to closely monitor them and helped her Queen to have a smooth time navigating her way through her reign as Queen.
"I have to leave now, Niran," Raul hummed as he gently pushed her away. "I'll come back tomorrow and spend more time with you outside."
"For real?" Niran blinked as she beamed. "We're finally going out together?"
"Yes. I've decided to let others see you around me so that they'll know that you're already taken even without us doing the Coupling Rites yet," Raul hummed with a hint of possessiveness. "No one will dare to touch you knowing you're my woman."
Smiling, she immediately wrapped her arms around his neck, tiptoeing to give Raul a chaste kiss on his cheek.
Chuckling, Raul clicked his tongue as he said, "That will do for now. Even though I'd love to teach you how to do a proper kiss, I won't since I respect your request for me to wait and follow traditions and the right process. I'm not confident I'll be able to hold back if I kiss you."
"Thank you," she murmured with a blush.
Raul shook his head and with a smile, broke their closeness. Sighing, Niran watched him disappear before her eyes, leaving as swiftly as he would usually appear out of nowhere.
She let out another deep sigh before she quickly ran to Raul's private study where she had put the black letter. Seeing how the letter had remained there, she smiled, only to note that it was already opened without her knowing. It could only mean that Raul had already read what was inside and had left it there on purpose knowing she would read it.
Picking up the letter, Niran frowned as she read the contents of the letter. Apparently, it was a request for a meeting at dawn. Seeing the offer, she knew she just had to be there and see what this was all about. Would Raul truly conspire and rebel against his brother?
Putting the letter down, Niran immediately went and prepared her disguise so that she could start doing her work. All the Queen's Shadow Maidens had these unique gifts and specializations in their spellcraft, and one of them was all about making sure they stayed hidden.
With a chant, she mustered up the spell she needed, disguising herself for a period of time while she did her work.
