Chapter 588: Chapter 302 Welcome to Thirteen District, Police Chief Chris. (Mega Chapter 7000)

When the three of them had finished their tasks, Fox glanced at Gary, who was on the side, and suddenly said something seemingly out of the blue, "The chief should have a ’Calm’ entry on him, it can cure you."

If it had been before, or if it had been anyone else, Fox wouldn’t have shown this kind of slightly irrelevant concern.

He was well aware that the initial cause of Gary’s current state was that mechanical disciple who had brandished the knife.

Although it wasn’t something he could be blamed for, nor had he expected Gary to appear at that place at that time.

After discovering that Gary had been seriously injured, he had risked being caught by Wolf and showed up at the Seksi Hotel, forcibly stopping the actions of the mechanical disciple and taking him away.

But in the end, Gary’s current condition did have something to do with him.

However, from some of Gary’s activities, Fox could tell that Gary held not the slightest grudge, because it seemed he was unaware of the mechanical disciple’s secret and that the disciple had connections with the Deception Group’s Fox.

Since that was the case, Fox had no intention of bringing up the matter. That kind of truth could only create distance and was otherwise useless.

"Are you sure?" Jiang Shu looked at Fox with surprise. Although he knew Fox didn’t make baseless remarks, this news was definitely good news.

"Mm," Fox nodded, "There’s a high probability, I’ve observed the chief for a long time, and he exhibits characteristics of the ’Calm’ entry. Considering his high position, it makes sense that he possesses such a precious and rare ’Calm’."

"That’s even better," Jiang Shu said with satisfaction. Then he turned to Gary, "Since that’s the case, I’ll go find a machine that can extract the entry, and let the chief make one last contribution."

"No need to look for it, I’ve already found one," Fox said. "There’s a shop in the black market that sells memory USBs, I’ve hypnotized them before. Just bring the chief there and we can do the entry extraction."

He glanced at the time: "If we go now, we should make it. The process of extracting an entry is very fast."

So both men turned their gaze to Gary, waiting for his response.

"No need," but Gary simply shook his head, making a choice beyond the expectations of Jiang Shu and the others, "I cannot steal the chief’s ’Calm’ entry."

"Why?" Jiang Shu frowned, confused, "Haven’t you been looking for the ’Calm’ entry all this time?"

"It’s against my principles," Gary continued shaking his head, "I want to catch the chief, not because he’s rich or has entries, but merely because of the crimes he carries."

There wasn’t much hesitation or conflict in his gaze, only determination: "Even if it’s just incidentally taking the guy’s entry, it would blur my purpose. If today I waver my bottom line for an entry, then tomorrow I could kill a rich person just because I’m short on funds. I don’t want to become that kind of person; hence, I don’t want to set such precedent, not even once."

"Alright then." Seeing Gary so resolved, Jiang Shu didn’t insist anymore.

In his view, Gary was somewhat pedantic and stubborn, but on second thought, if not for such pedantry and stubbornness, how could Gary maintain his self-integrity amidst the continuous disruptions of Cyber Syndrome?

Jiang Shu imagined if he were in the same situation, he would either have unscrupulously obtained the "Calm" entry to end his suffering, or he would have long been assimilated by the pain and become a real madman.

There was no way around it, after all, his "weak willpower" had been officially certified by the Magician Tarot Card.

"Well, have it your way," Fox said, shrugging his shoulders upon hearing this and said no more.

His reminder to Gary was just that – if Gary refused, there was no need to insist.

District E.

Seksi Hotel.

Within the Thirteen District, there’s a Seksi Hotel in each of the ABCDEF sub-districts, but the specifications of each hotel differ.

The one in District A is the most luxurious, and so on, with District F being lesser so, yet still one of the best hotels in its respective sub-district.

Given Chris’s character, he should have held the banquet in the Seksi Hotel in District A, but the location of the Thirteen District Police Station was different from other districts. During Tang Hexun’s time, the station was moved near the poorer security areas of Districts E and F, to show the police station’s commitment to maintaining social order.

That was why the Seksi Hotel in District E was closer to the police station, and Chris, the Police Chief, chose this one.

After all, it would be foolish to have his subordinates travel for an hour to District A just for a dinner, right?

At this moment, Wolf was sitting quietly in a corner of the banquet hall, silently scrolling through recent news in his prosthetic eye.

He seemed to be neglected, with a certain pitiable air of loneliness about him.

But that wasn’t actually the case. Wolf could very well sit at the central position of the banquet hall; with his Police Chief status, everyone present, including Chris, the Police Chief, couldn’t possibly ignore him.

It was just that Wolf didn’t want to. He knew very well that if he wished, all the officers present would share pleasant conversations with him, considering they had worked together for so long.

But he had his own considerations, now that it was settled he wouldn’t be the Police Chief of the Thirteen District anymore, he couldn’t continue to be the protagonist within the Thirteen District Police Station.
