Chapter 61: Saber’s Third Skill Advanced Attack

Luckily, only the spider monsters attacked him. If they were as big as the Arachnid from earlier, Agares would’ve had a much harder time fighting them.

He swung his sword sideways, diagonally, and stabbed forward.

Every spider that got close was either cut down by his blade or slashed apart by the wind pressure. Even though there were thousands of them, they were small and easy to kill.

"Can you help me fight them, Aoi?" Agares asked.

"I can’t! I hate spiders!"

’Aoi’s no help in this situation... I have no other choice.’

Agares spun his body while swinging his sword, creating a large whirlwind that pulled in many of the little spiders and blew them away in all directions.

His eyes locked onto the floor boss—a giant tree with massive roots buried deep in the ground. While floating in mid-air, he gripped his sword with both hands.

"Activate skill!"

"Saber Skill: Eclipse Execution!"

Agares’s body was surrounded by dark purple energy, forming a faint magical armor. His eyes glowed the same color. His third skill activated, allowing him to float in the air for a while.

He raised his sword in front of him, level with his shoulder. A projection of a red moon and a black shadow began to shape into a giant sword—floating right in front of him.

Then, with a forward thrust, Agares sent the giant purple sword flying straight toward the tree-like boss.

But the boss didn’t just sit there. It lifted its roots and threw dozens of trees into the air, aiming straight at Agares.

Shocked, Agares pushed his attack forward while the dark energy surrounding the giant sword spread out and filled the area.

The trees that hit the sword shattered on impact, cut or burned away by its force.

"No way!" the boss yelled.

The monster tried to stop the sword by grabbing it with its roots. A clash of power followed, with Agares holding his sword and the tree boss resisting the attack.

Agares could feel it—the boss was far stronger than he expected. Only his third skill had enough power to deal serious damage.

He couldn’t keep using his first skill—it cost too much mana.

Realizing he couldn’t finish the fight with Eclipse Execution alone, Agares went all in.

He shot forward, charging at the boss while keeping Shadepiercer aimed straight ahead. The energy from the giant purple sword was absorbed into his weapon.

That energy formed a long, glowing purple blade—much larger than the actual sword.

"What’s happening?!" the boss shouted.

"You forced me to do this!" Agares yelled back.

He swung his sword hard, striking the giant tree monster, which stood about five meters tall.

Their powers clashed, causing small explosions around them that lit the trees on fire and tore through the forest.

"What kind of power is this?!" the tree monster cried.

"HYAAAAA!"

Agares screamed as he pushed his strength to the limit, swinging his sword sideways with everything he had. Slowly, his attack started breaking through.

Bit by bit, the blade cut deeper—until, finally, the energy blade sliced the tree monster’s body clean in half.

Flames burst from the wound, burning the monster and stopping it from regenerating.

Agares flew down and landed roughly, rolling on the ground. He looked at his hand—it was badly injured from using his advanced third skill.

[+1200 dmg] [Critical ATK]

[Doom Activated]

He stood still for a moment, then smiled when he saw the damage report appear. He looked forward and pushed himself up, even though he staggered from the pain.

The boss’s name was Widow Verdant Matron. It had around 1000 HP, but the damage he dealt was enough to kill it.

"You... You’re the first person to kill me in a single blow..." the monster groaned.

"And I’ll be the first person to conquer this dungeon," Agares answered.

Suddenly, the tree boss’s body glowed a bright brown—a sign that it was about to self-destruct.

Agares’s eyes widened in shock. He grabbed his sword and slammed it into the ground.

"Activate skill!"

"Saber Skill: Abyssal Ward!"

As the skill activated, a black shadow with bat-like wings appeared behind him. The figure wrapped its wings around Agares, shielding him from the coming blast.

The explosion spread across the entire forest. Trees burned, the grass turned black, and the ground cracked and dried.

But the area around Agares stayed safe—untouched by the destruction.

The explosion lasted for about five minutes. When the pressure finally faded, Agares opened the protective dome and looked around.

Everything was destroyed. The trees were gone, the sky was filled with black smoke.

"That was terrifying... Is that the true power of a floor boss?" Agares muttered.

Aoi felt it too. She peeked out from Agares’s shirt pocket and saw the ruined battlefield.

As usual, she checked on Agares. She was shocked to see his right hand badly burned from using his third saber skill.

"Master Ares, your hand?" she asked.

Agares looked down at it and replied that he was fine. He said it would heal once he used an HP Potion.

Even so, Aoi didn’t want to see him hurt again. She climbed out of his shirt and moved closer to his injured hand.

Using her magic, Aoi gently wrapped her soft, white fox tail around his wounded hand.

The blue glow of her fur showed that her power was working.

"Hold still, Master Agares."

"Nature’s Healing!"

Slowly, Agares felt a soothing coolness on the burn. In no time, the damage faded and fully healed.

He was stunned—he hadn’t expected Aoi to have a power like that.

"Healing magic?" Agares asked, surprised.

"It’s just a simple spell. I can only heal light injuries, not anything serious," Aoi replied.

"That’s more than enough. You really helped me, Aoi."

Aoi smiled and turned away, clearly tired but happy. She was glad Agares appreciated her ability.

"Thank you. I’m glad I could help you." ƒrēenovelkiss.com
